The thing is before car they should use it in industries if it is cheaper, as demand rises production of hydrogen will be more cheaper and with availability of hydrogen everywhere the cost of Hydrogen powered vehicle will decrease too. If hydrogen can replace coal then government should approach industries and factories first, then public transport and agricultural machinery, private car should be last approach.

good Fuel. But again the factor is the storing & cooling of hydrogen in a country like India where the ambient temperature in summer goes up to 45 degrees C. Hydrogen is seriously too dangerous gas to handle. In India, how could it be safe where Lithium Batteries are exploding due to high temperature.

Sadly almost everyone is talking about the technology and initiative from political angle and not science. 1. Yes, this car has been a failure in the west just as electric cars were a failure in the west 20 or 30 years ago. One car does not mean entire technology is useless. 2. Over-relying on electric lithium car batteries will put the world in exact same position as oil. India does not have enough oil nor enough electric car battery rare earth material. 3. Lithium car batteries are MORE efficient and hydrogen batteries are 18 to 50% less efficient. BUT, hydrogren has more enegry per unit volume. You can run a train, truck or a plane by hydrogen not by lithium ion batteries since the weight of batteries required to generate enough power means entire train or plane is full of batteries with not enough room for people. 4. Hydrogren has faster recharge capability and better compatibility with existing oil and gas infrastructure. 5. It is easier to store energy in hydrogen than lot of lithium ion batteries. Albeit, hydrogren storage means loss of energy/less efficiency. TLDR; Hydrogren will get cheaper just like electric car technology. Hydrogren is a more logical solution for countries like India. Prices of cars will come down with volume. Japanese companies lead hydrogen vehicle tech not chinese or american. AND Japanese companies already have the largest presence in the country in terms of manufacturing and sales. Ambani, Adani etc. are pumping over $100 billion combined to reduce price of producing green hydrogen. Ignore all propoganda, and invest in hydrogen. It will not be as efficient as electric cars but the correct strategic option.

But manufacturers, do they really care more on environmental friendly cars rather than profits? The best thing about Hydrogen is that Hydrogen can be Mass produced & Stored. For that Indian-Govt needs to invest in Mass scale Green-Hydrogen production & Storage. Not truely green. You have to burn energy to convert it from water to hydrogen to put it in your tank. Where does that energy come from.
