Soap is NOT a detergent.

@@erixasq but i thought there was two types of detergents, soapy and soapless. Soapy is usually made from the boiling of animal fats/ vegetable fats with concentrated potassium or sodium hydroxide solutions, for example sodium octadecanoate. Soapless detergents are formed from petroleum and they call them synthetic detergents. For example sodium dodecyl sulfate.
