I bought a BX from Huckabone's and had a very good experience. However, this year I wanted to trade it in on an L3901. I had a couple of conversations with them about it and they said they would come out and evaluate my "stuff" for trade-in. Since I bought it there and had it serviced there I'm not sure what they needed to know about my "stuff". I told the sales rep he could come whenever he wanted and never heard from him again. So now I have an L3901 TLB with a Snowblower, Grapple and Woodchipper arriving in a couple of weeks from another dealer.

Glad you were able to purchase a L3901 TLB, your going to enjoy it

Never understood why sales people don't put a little effort for a potential repeat customer.

Thanks for watching, every dealership is different we did our best to retain Kevan, just didn't work out. The L3901 is a great unit & anyone would enjoy it

I had the hydrostatic drive in the BX and ended up getting a foreign object in the hydraulic fluid cooler under the back of the tractor. It cleaned off the fan blades causing overheating and destroyed all the seals in the hydraulics. Thankfully it was still under warranty and they fixed it for free but I sold it immediately and the next year bought one size bigger the L2501 gear driven and yes I have to pause to shift gears but I am much happier with it.

Whatever you do, avoid hydro. It's easy as a woman... but hard to pull a log.

You forgot to mention the HST trans is loud as hell! I have L3301 with HST, its great.

Yes that is a great point the HST does have that whine to it, Thanks for watching

Not sure what to make of this comment?

Don't worry about it. It's completely normal. After much deliberation I went with the hst and so glad I did. So much nicer for loader work and great for steep hills

I've had both and the hydrostatic gives up too soon, even when there's traction left. The DT puts all the HP to the ground. The hydrostatic just slips. I'll never have another hydrostatic. Not to mention the increased service intervals and fuel consumption.

You gear down with the DT - DT all the way for me. A 2wd L3901 DT please.

Loader tractor? Hydrostatic is the best choice. Field tractor? I prefer a gear drive for discing and mowing. I have both and it does work best that way, at least for me. I have 80 acres of forest, 2.5 miles of trails and 3.5 acres of food plots. For the loader tractor a hydrostatic is much faster and easier to use. When mowing or discing I select my gear and set my rpm and concentrate on my task.

Thanks for sharing Your intro music blares you can control that when you’re editing. I know it’s a lot of work to edit but your subscribers will appreciate not having to turn you up at the start then turn you down for the intro then back up again to hear your content again.

Does the DT or HST require more maintenance? Which option has less failures?
@HuckabonesEquipment3 жыл бұрын
Both require similar maintenance, don't see failures in either transmissions. If you have multiple operators the DT clutch could see premature wear otherwise both are solid transmissions
