Gavin Lux was just traded so now we see the direction they are heading. The Dodgers signing Kim made Lux expendable and the Dodgers got a decent CF prospect and Comp A pick. They basically flipped Lux for 3 prospects and only have to pay Kim like 1.5M more than Lux was going to make in 2025.

I think Hye-Seong will fit into Kiké’s role as a utility depth piece, though time will tell whether or not he can match the output that Kiké gave them. It would be insane if he could be even half as clutch as Hernandez is in the postseason.

If he’s around 90ops+ w like a .315obp in 300+ at bats good base running and solid in multiple infield spots then I see it as good value for his contract. they’re gonna let him see a lot of left handed pitching but I could see him having moments late in games as a pinch runner/defensive replacement

If the report of him giving up his options are true, I wouldn’t be surprised if he spends a surprising amount of time this season in Oklahoma. He has very little power and I bet they convinced him their coaches can help him make adjustments to get more pop. I know it’s crazy to pay 12M for a guy you’ll stash away in AAA but I think the Dodgers are seeing this as investment for when Rojas and CT3 move on.
