There's no way theyd just leave high quality cameras around with no way to get the footage off except for physically going and getting it, that's way too unreliable It'd make much more sense to have the camera stream its footage to another wireless device nearby once it's been triggered - in case something like this happens

My guess is the cameras transmit to somewhere else wirelessly.

Nothing says that the camera that was stolen is the same that was used for the licking images, or that the two events happened at the same moment/in the same footage. Magic of montage. :)
