At first I kept asking why would she do that, but then I realized she was trying to get her calf to follow her, standing still is curtain death, but if she can get her calf on the move they can meet with the herd for protection, the calf has a much better chance of survival

Obviously this is nature, but it seems like the humans are too close. The mother perceives the tourists as a threat and is spending half her time focused on them rather than on the real threat from the hyenas. Makes for great video, but the humans should be further away.

The problem are the humans. Of course the mom is totally upset by the cars and humans talking outloud. That's why she desperately wants to leave. For those who thinks she's bothered by the hyenas, of course she is. But, if those people weren't there, there was no way she would leave her baby behind. Did you see how close were the cars to her (1:33)? Those tourist guides should be punished or fined for disturbing wildlife. They should have kept enough distance from mother buffalo to not upset her that much.

Wrong the humans were doing the right thing. They have to be close enough to be able to see the hyenas eating the calf. If they get too far back they will not have a good view. This is completely obvious I don't know how you can't see what is right in front of your face. The hyenas are very hungry and they need to eat the calf. You have no compassion for animals.

They don’t work like that. They’re prey animals for a reason. Herds don’t come rescue calves. They stand back while a single scared buffalo moves forward to do a few futile strikes (often to the downed buffalo). Nice work by the hyenas.
