Three hyenas have come across a young Topi - a type of antelope - in the north of the Masai Mara, Kenya. They may have hunted it, or perhaps it was injured, had died of natural causes or of a snake-bite.
At the start of the film the carcass is whole, the hyenas have just started feeding. They protect it against the vultures who are waiting their turn, chasing off the bolder birds that get too close.
After 15 minutes they leave it, full up after their meal and the vultures completely bury the carcass in a feeding frenzy. After just over 5 minutes of this a fourth hyena appears and chases them off as it wants a meal too, and reveals just a few fragments of skin and bone. Its been almost completely consumed.
