I love this model. 4wheel drive is what I'm looking for too. As well as ability to use it in the snow

Good narration and demo, thank you, Alan! I really like the garage, and wish US makers would copy that!!! No reason that could not be implemented in our Class C and Class A motorhomes.
@VanlifewithAlan8 жыл бұрын
Now that Hymer is distributing in the US, it may force other manufacturers to change in order to compete! And even if they don't then you can buy a Hymer!

Yes, I'm very glad about this! I don't see why we cannot have a large 'garage' on our RVs, and I just love that Thule electronic sleek aluminum step. Our choices are so clunky! I also love tambour doors!

Hi Alan - great videos - thanks - I see this one is 3,500kg whereas the 580 4x4 is 4,000kg...I prefer the latter but do you think the advantages of being under 3,500kg ae crucial? No go box in Austria for example?
@VanlifewithAlan7 жыл бұрын
I have been to a lot of countries in the van and I think that this is a major issue. There are costs just about everywhere for having a vehicle over 3,500kg. Unless you really must carry a stack of stuff around with you and don't mind paying - best give it a miss!

Now that's what I'm talking about! I'm trying to think of some criticism but all I can come up with is that the cupboards under the beds look a bit low and deep for those of us who are not as bendy as we used to be... unless they can be accessed from above too, of course. I notice you didn't mention the huge glossy fridge :)
@VanlifewithAlan8 жыл бұрын
I think that this is what I would go for - but I prefer a width wise bed. I have got one of these enormous beds at the moment and it is unnecessarily big!
@simonsackett8 жыл бұрын
You wouldn't think that if you slept like a starfish and had a missus who did the same!

I prefer the 620 actually - it's got a proper loo. I find the bench toilets strangely difficult to get on with, for reasons a gentleman doesn't go into in polite company :)

YOU'RE CLAIMING THAT YOU'RE TRAVELING AROUND EUROPE, AND PROBABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION, IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG IN THE VEHICLE, WHAT KIND OF SUPPORT WILL BE AVAILABLE OUT OF GERMANY???
@VanlifewithAlan2 жыл бұрын
It depends what part goes wrong. If it is the engine then that will be covered by Mercedes, Fiat, Ford etc, if it is the fridge or the toilet then by the manufacturer (Dometic, Thetford, Vitrifrigo etc..) There is service all over the place, that is nothing to worry about - but good question.
@louteix99812 жыл бұрын
@@VanlifewithAlan that's good to know, because many times brand new things they fail. I'm very interested but just for me and my girlfriend, nothing big, as long it having the necessary, thankfully.

Hi Alan, can you buy this Model in the states?

I doubt it at present but it may become available. Ask Roadtrek!

Hi Alan, I would like to see a video about your cost of living in a van. How much you spend a month? Insurance, food, maintenance, ... I know there are many factors but just to get an idea. I would like to know how much saving I would need to have for a big tour of Europe for 1 year or 2 in a 6 or 7 meters van. At this time I live in Thailand for a little 350 euro a month all included. If I go back to Europe it s not to live in an expensive condo and have a boring life of a Swiss zombie. I need adventure. What van would you buy if you sell your hymer. Do you think hymer has better isolation for a full timer? how can we communicate with you?
@VanlifewithAlan8 жыл бұрын
I think I need to do a film on the cost of living in a van - in fact as it is raining now, it would be a good time to do it. Some sort of isolation is needed for the winter if one is in Europe - being on hook up all the time is very difficult. As far as a van is concerned, it depends what is available. For me, I think around 650cm with width wise bed and large garage is about right!

The European's do a good job on interior bike storage on these Sprinter type vans. Can a Vespa scooter fit in the rear garage? Have you seen the Leisure Travel Unity Vans made in Canada? They have the best interior design of all the vans in this class that I have seen. They do lack an interior rear bike storage though and wish they make a van with bigger storage.
@VanlifewithAlan8 жыл бұрын
One Vespa will go in easily - maybe two, I don't know. The only Canadian van I have seen is the Roadtrek!

No way! The Kitchen looks like a motorblock. You stumble into the bed on the stage and no seperate shower and toilet and the bed is so big you don't want an elephant to sleep in you only want a single little person bed

Way over priced with no air conditioner, no fly screens to keep the bugs out, no tv, no microwave, no option to turn the dining area seats into a second bed and by the looks of it no option to make a large bed of the two singles. If it did have the above mentioned then the review is seriously lacking detail.
@nivagmp6 жыл бұрын
Is has an air conditioner, when driving. It has fly screens on all doors and windows, it has infill cushions to make a large double, the dining area makes a small single bed! .. stop moaning, know your facts, and the review is free, don't like .. move on .. by the way I have one , it is 4x4 and an amazing bit of kit
