Sister Carolina Girl My parents were saved under the ministry of American Missionaries in Peru. I came to America in 1971, Hippies era, the country on Sundays the businesses were closed, on Easter the Radio stations only played classical music and businesses were closed. We need to pray for America. Gos is calling us, as a nation to repentance. We all need to repent and seek His face.v Lord help us!

Beautifully done!!! I had heard this story many times as to the same time frame. At my dad's funeral, we sang this wondrous hymn. He had been an old time song leader for so many years!! He was born in 1920 and went home in 2014--a bit over 4 months after my mother. They had served the Lord together for almost 74 years of marriage. I told this story after the song. We all love it so.

Carolina Girl , I pray in agreement with your prayer. Our dear savior, Jesus, didn't leave us, many have left Him. I pray for a revival to start in the Suffering nations and spread back to The English speaking nations. My soul rejoices that many are coming to Christ in Israel. God is at work and he hears our prayers. Many eyes are opening to see satanic worship trying to take over lives. He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world. Come, Lord Jesus.

Just as I will always remember where I was when I first heard of President Kennedy's assassination, I will also never forget where I was when I first heard this great hymn. My home church, Grace Methodist in Houston Heights, was having a five-night revival, with a visiting pastor preaching. On the first night, at the end of his sermon, he said, "And now let us all join in singing that great hymn we've all heard on the Billy Graham crusades, "How great Thou art." Now, Grace was a singing church, but not many had heard this hymn before. The organist clearly had not. The revivalist led off, and a few people joined him. I stood mute, amazed at the hymn's beauty. I could not sing a song I'd never heard before, but when it ended, probably a third of the people there were singing it. After the service, I went to the man who had introduced me to this great song, and asked if he knew where I could find a copy of it. Alas, he didn't. I was able to pick out the tune on our piano at home, but it was probably several years before I found a published version of it, with the words. My fingers will no longer do what I tell them to, and my singing voice is long gone from age, but I am thrilled every time I hear it performed. How great Thou art, indeed!
@QueenGail5 жыл бұрын
Ken Reed, that was a beautiful memory. What year was that if you don't mind me asking. I never could sing, but I can make a joyful noise and can't play a piano, OH but when we get in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, what a beautiful time we will have for eternity. Stay Blessed my brother in Christ.

John tells us how incomprehensibly great God is in chapter 21: This is the disciple who testifies to these things and who wrote them down. We know that his testimony is true. Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder, Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made; I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, Thy power throughout the universe displayed. Chorus: Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art! When through the woods, and forest glades I wander, And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees. When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art! And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing; Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in; That on a Cross, my burdens gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art! When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation, And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart. Then I shall bow, in humble adoration, And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!" Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art. Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee, How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
