It really is not a great anthem. It is people lying to your face saying peace will come, but peace will never happen, they will bring only more destruction until the return of Jesus Christ. For those criticizing the UN, there has never been another World War for 70 years, just small proxy wars, which is exactly what it's meant to do. We haven't had peace like this in FOREVER. Just a few centuries there would be 3 big wars every year, now it's only 1 small war every decade. The UN is also why the world is not the nuclear wasteland it could have been. Sure, it might need some improvements, but again, for the critics, it might seem like it's not-so-good in the short term, but we humans have done a great job in the big picture of history. No, the lyrics are subpar. They are very unpoetic. Some of them are illogically-placed. 'Optative'? 'Cincture'? No one with a decent knowledge of English Literature would use those words in such a manner. The melody is also quite unpleasant.
