Hymne a Sainte Cecile by Charles Gounod

The Hymn to St. Cecilia by Charles Gounod (1818-1893). Conducted by Robert Vickery on Pentecost Sunday 2004. The images in the video are paintings of St. Cecilia from the Santa Cecilia in Trastevere (Rome), where St. Cecilia was thought to have lived.
This instrumental was written by Gounod as the Offertory piece for the St. Cecilia mass. St. Cecilia is the patron saint of music.
