Fax. Especially for Shonen anime. A new Shonen anime will drop and everyone will be like " YOOOOO, THIS SHOW IS 🔥🔥🔥 THIS IS PEAK FICTION MATERIAL!!!!👌" or with some generic slice of life anime people will hype up how cute and wholesome it is.

One Piece just had a lousy live action trailer and Avatar: TLA had a teaser drop, and this comment could not be more true. Standards have dropped so far they've pierced the molten core of the fucking earth but neckbeards are still gobbling that shit up like crack and asking for seconds. 3:26 I know these are just prime examples, but... was there ANY hype regarding the Netflix Resident Evil series? Like was there? Because the only reactions I've seen from most of my friends who are Resident Evil fans when they first heard of what the series was going to be about to when the trailers were coming out, the only reactions I've seen were "What the f**k is this? This is not Resident Evil, w-what is this?!" And it's still the same reaction when the show came out with the being "This is not Resident Evil, WTF is this?!"

No expectations just makes it feel bad when it sucks. No expectations feels way better since if a media is hood it surprises you. Alongside, that you don't get dissapointed if it's shit. So I just don't get hyped instead I just wonder in. Security Breach is a great example of this.

6:35 you do realise that part of the reason why media does this is to reduce how much information about the product will get spoiled to people who haven’t seen the trailer yet, right?

Telling people when there will be a trailer isn't going to reduce the amount of people getting spoiled. The whole point of announcing them beforehand is so that people will watch it, because no company wants people to NOT watch their new trailer that they pumped millions of dollars on.

@@MattCMG well, if a trailer is just randomly released with no prior warning, then people who aren’t in the current state to watch it may get spoiled before they are able to, a prior announcement for the time and date lets people know when they are able to watch it and thus they can make sure that they watch it right as it gets released so they have a lower chance of getting spoiled by people who have already seen it. either way you’re right in saying that it does generate more viewership for trailers, but in reducing the amount of information that gets spoiled for fans as well, then at the very least it kills two birds with one stone

Trailers shouldn't be spoiling shit in the first place. You shouldn't need to be in the "right state of mind" to watch a 2 minute trailer for a 2 hour movie.

@@MattCMG when I say trailer, I’m more so referring to like a Smash character trailer or something like that, my overall point does somewhat extend to movie trailers, its just a matter of where you draw the line because I agree that for say a marvel movie a prior notice about the time and date for a new trailer isn’t as necessary. Your overall point I do get and somewhat agree with, again depending on the type of media the trailer is for, but I still think that its nice when companies have notices about the time and date of a trailer for the people that do care about watching it without major reveals within the trailer being spoiled to them prior, which obviously takes away some of the fun and excitement.
