Ever since i ordered the Brushless impact wrench i fell in love with all the 12v max tools I ordered the Air inflator, the long reach ratchet and an extra 6.0ah battery, i love the fact that each tool comes with a 1.5ah battery and the fact that you can use the 4.0 and 6.0 on all the tools as well very affordable and very reliable I haven't had ANY issues with any of the 12v Max Hyper Tough Tools 👍🏽

Love the in depth testing. And love cheap good tools. Don’t need to break the bank always to get the job done 30 seconds faster on things like this.

i had the hyper tough inflator. i tried it on my pick up that runs 60/80 psi. it would hit the 80 psi but took for ever to fill the last 10 psi. i returned it. then i watched project farm and it did just as well as dewalt and milwaukee.

Yeah, it looks like to me that a bigger gap form between the hyper tough, and the skill whenever the pressure got higher

Hyper Tough is on the come-up! They have 36" pry bars made by Wilde for $20, a double set of mini pry bars made by Mayhew, and the only difference is my Mayhew ones have red handles. There are also rumors that their new impacts are made by a Chinese company who makes a lot of TTI stuff! They also have things like brass punhc set, impact sockets, etc.. I bought their long neck 3/8" electric ratchet to compare to my 2 Milwaukees and i can assure you that it is nearly the same quality! Its unfortunate that many can't see past their $100k debt which they accumulated on the tool trucks, to see that "good" tools dont have to be exorbitantly expensive.

Test the lights next please. The new Hyper Tough light is supposed to be comparable to the M12 Rover.

Yes, I will get to the lights soon. Thanks for commenting

Have used both extensively, and they're really a 1a 1b light depending on the job. As for differences, the Rover has a charge port, displays remaining battery, much stronger magnets, much warmer tint, and 2 less overall LEDs than the HT. The HT has 2 more LEDs, the ability to mount on a tripod, significantly cooler tint, has a hook, and is much more compact. The UI's of the lights are essentially the same, but the HT has a flashing mode that I have only found to be annoying. I also don't see a very significant difference in their throw or flood, even though the HT should have a more condensed beam. This could also be due to the HT being cooler. They're very different lights when it comes to actually lighting stuff up because of the way they move. The rover can move it's light left to right, while the hyper tough moves from front to back. I've found that the hyper tough is actually far more versatile when it comes to lighting, and I believe that's where it really stands out. With the hook, you can place it in way more places than you can with the rover to get a far better lighting setup, such as hooking it onto the grab handles in a car. The rover has to be placed on it's side to light cars similarly, and it still has a pretty restrictive range of motion. The HT on it's back can be a bit wobbly, but it can send light straight ahead and position in a few different angles to really get it where you need it to go. It works very well when under a vehicle to light up everything, whereas it can be a challenge to get the rover to do things in the same manner. I have only used the HT once on a tripod, I haven't found a good use for that just yet. Might consider making a square plate that screws into the insert with some really strong magnets. As for build quality, the rover wins handily. I don't believe the HT light will survive what i've put my rover through, simply because of how the pivot for the light works. I also really wish the HT had a battery indicator somewhere, not having one is a pain. The magnets on the HT are also nowhere near the strength as they are on the rover, and is probably my biggest complaint. Small bumps can send this light flying. Overall, considering the HT is less than half the price of the rover with a battery and charger, there's not really a reason to buy a rover. You can buy 2 of the HT light for cheaper than 1 rover, and have way more light coverage than the rover would ever be able to put out.

I wanted to like the hyper tough 12v line but I've begun to switch to the Skil 12v family. I replaced my HT impact driver that I broke with a Skil from Lowe's since it was on sale, and I like it so much more
@zacksintheshop2 ай бұрын
The skill line is at least as good value as the hyper tough maybe more on some of the products. The skill impact driver and drill are more equal to the Milwaukee M2 in power. That’s with them costing a fraction of the Milwaukee.

I liked the 12v stuff, makes me mad about Craftsman, I have and still use a bunch of my Nextec stuff, I didn't get either inflator though. The 12v stuff is more than adequate for the majority of people. The Hyper Tough stuff definitely looks like a really good purchase, good power, a great lineup and good pricing
@zacksintheshop2 ай бұрын
Hyper Tough is a nice value. I remember the old craftsman stuff. You’re right. 12 volt tools are enough for most household and even pro projects. In my shop I use 12 volt as much as anything else.

Take note the HT done almost the same PSI as the skil with 1.5ah battery versus a 2.0ah on the skill and don’t be fooled that .5ah makes a big difference
@zacksintheshop2 ай бұрын
Yes, with the amount of power it takes for these to pump up a tire. For example, it would’ve been nice to include at least two amp hour battery.

Good comparison. but I think the price difference affects way too little in the final score. IMO, relative score doesn't work really well and maybe there should be some better way. As of now, in order to make those scores even just by the price alone, Skil should be $148 and Hyper Tough should be $12. In this way, the scores will be even at 416. But, if there is such big difference in price (12x), while not-so-big difference in performance, I think anyone would think HT is way better, even though your score is even. By the way, I have that LED light (one in the middle) and it was pretty good. Back side has magnet. so I attached it under the hood of the car when I was working on my friend's car. After two hours of work, 1.5Ah battery that came with it had almost no battery, so I think it lasts about 2 or 2.5 hours. Not bad.

Thanks for the comments. I agree a non relative score may be in the works.

Zack, i want that 12v light too..😂 Meanwhile, I wonder if the HT inflator would equal or beat skil with a 2, 4, or 6 ah battery? I have the m12 inflator, it doesn't have the light, a few years old, but i think its more solid than thIs HT. Recommend the m12 vs the skil, and maybe the HT with a high capacity battery. And can't wait for the grinder compo...

@zacksintheshop Also, I think the $43 price tag might a bit reaching. I have the ryobi PCL001B, which is very similar to the skil, and currently $30 at home depot...

I have taken some of these apart and found them to fail in a relatively short period. The inner workings are made of cheap materials that wear out prematurely. I had a Craftsman inflator that lasted 12 years and still ran when I sold it. The pump was similar to an airbrush compressor in construction. The piston was metal with rubber seals. I have seen hyper tough stuff. No quality once so ever. Save your money. A small pancake compressor is a better deal for the money. You can snag a good used, almost new one on Marketplace from time to time.
