The game was honestly one of the best gaming experiences I've had in a while. I mean the dialogue and story are solid, but the experience of walking through a world that is so fundamentally different from anything I have ever seen is just amazing. No game has ever managed to disorient me in such a enjoyable way. Having followed these devlogs has definitely helped me appreciate many of the smaller things. I probably won't be replaying it a ton, but whenever i have a guest over, you can be pretty certain i'll at least bring it up.

When I came back to Hyperbolica after a few days I completely forgot what I was supposed to do - I was running around quite a bit until I found my thread again. Maybe some kind of quest log book could be useful - a list for all your current goals and jobs. You really did a great job on the project as a whole. People can extend on the idea - you shared your source and you're allowing people to play with it - you offer the game on steam AND DRM-free - you even offer your Soundtrack via band camp. Not to mention the bugfixes, VR improvements and all the love you're putting into it. Very well done! Big Kudos!

I really liked this game, I love games that allow people to really get a gut feeling for alternative geometries. One thing that I think it missed out on was that the spaces were all finite and fairly small, which is a shame since you never really get an opportunity to get lost in a mind-bendingly small space. This is something I think hyper-rogue did fantastically, although it really leans into this with all the procedural generation which is likely necessary to make this feasible. One puzzle from that game that really affected me: find the mcguffin at the center of a circle whose diameter is about 4-5 times the view distance. There is nothing else in the circle besides a ground tiling. So simple, yet so hard!

It was such a fun game. You should definitely take a break but it needs some fixing---I had a few glitches, for example the cafe rollerskate minigame bugs out sometimes and the target will jump from one area to another, and the ending sequence was really confusing because all the wrong people were talking at me from behind other people and whatever. I think after some bugfixes and maybe some final adjustments this game would be really fun to try and do speedruns of? The cafe minigame is my favourite, I kept getting close to sub-1 minute but not quite making it. One day, when my throws are on point, maybe...

Once you figure out how to add standalone support on Quest 2, I'd love it if you could add standalone support to the Lynx R1 which releases in a few months. It's shaping up to be a pretty big competitor to the Meta Cambria headset, but as a far more open platform. I'm not sure to what extent you'll use OpenXR APIs for the Quest 2 port, but the Lynx R1 will use Unity's new OpenXR APIs. Hopefully it'll be pretty easy. The main complexity would be how it's hand tracking only at launch with controllers shipping a bit later, and I don't know how they plan on handling movement in standalone VR with hand tracking only. (When used via a computer, that should work out of the box with SteamVR, assuming all the OpenXR stuff is portable and everything.)
