That Supa Retron HD Jitter though... Am I the only one that saw that?
@ThomaniacsRetrogamingZone7 жыл бұрын
The picture of the Gamerz Tek is a bit more blurry. Also noticed a slight humming on the audio there. So to me the Hyperkin wins. But in the end i prefer RGB out upscaled through my Framemeister :-)
@TheMamaluigi3006 жыл бұрын
Thomaniac's Retrogaming Zone Yeah, but the framemeister is several hundred dollars.

Momma always said you can never have enough SNES clones. Ain’t that the truth.

i hope they continue to innovate and improve apon these, all the companies that are trying. i love sticking my real life cart into a system and playing it something magical about it emulation is more practical and convenient but just isnt the same.

G tek 2 in 1 has my vote , newer updated version with Nes control ports too.. deeper contrast is not bad necessarily, Retron looks too bright to me

For me Hyperkin wins, because of the PAL/NTSC switch. Saturation can be corrected on the TV. I wish you included also an original SNES.

Excellent comparison, thank you

Hmm You should also be comparing Input Latency. Very important to players to compare game play response.

To be brutally honest, they both suck. However I can't wait till the Super NT.

7:30 How did you manage to make the same moves 1:1 when playing on Hyperkin and GamerzTek?

Personally I think the Hyperkin Supa Retron HD is better. For starts having PAL support for me is a super big deal as I own many PAL carts. The sound on the Hyperkin has more base and sounds less tinny. In parts the Gamerz Tek sounded awful to the ears. With the picture quality it's subject of course but I prefer the Hyperkin. I have a real SNES with RGB into a CRT and it comes out bright and colorful and I really enjoy that. The Hyperkin is also bright and colorful which I think is perfect for many Nintendo games. It loses detail but one could just lower the saturation a bit on the TV. The Gamerz Tek is too dark. The white on Konami logo looks grey and it makes the colors look really muddy especially if you correct the saturation. For me personally it just looks too dull and dark.

Very helpful, thanks! But what about the controllers (comparison)?
@Madlittlepixel4 жыл бұрын
This video is quite old now, but the controllers from the Supa Retron HD are some of the best 3rd party wired controllers I have ever used. The Gamerz, not so much.

Test the composite? Reviewers keep overlooking this.
@Madlittlepixel6 жыл бұрын
Troy GBLAN Its not that i overlooked it but the selling point of these consoles is the hdmi output not composite. Sure the options there but not many will care. I cant capture composite footage with my setup and im sure many others with newer capturing setups cant as well so more of an annoyance to take off camera footage of a monitor for something not many would care about.
@fullnelsontecmo6 жыл бұрын
Madlittlepixel as a person who plays on CRT for tournaments but wants to capture in higher quality, this is important information. Hook up the Hyperkin and tell me it isn’t relevant. Spoiler : it’s unplayable.
@Madlittlepixel6 жыл бұрын
Troy GBLAN If you take it so seriously that you are into tournaments noone would use these clone consoles, theyd use original hardware unless it was some weird amateurish tournament or something but then whyd they use crt? I stand by that most people dont care about composite on these cheap clones. Maybe years ago but not really anymore.
@fullnelsontecmo6 жыл бұрын
Madlittlepixel when you have to buy a dozen systems, these clones work great. Clones are quite common place at these tournaments.
@Madlittlepixel6 жыл бұрын
Troy GBLAN I wont argue you anymore because I wont change your mind about using clones for tournament use lol(sounds like you are the one hosting.. :P)...but seriously that reason makes zero sense as a standard SNES system can be found for less than the Hyperkin. And I have been involved in tournaments in the past and though I like clone consoles you would be laughed at for having a clone at a tournament with any serious player. Like I said if a tournament is using clones they are amateurish at hosting unless its being held by the company who made the clone. 99.9% want these to plug to there hdtv. These are for casual people not tournament players.

You wait for a Mint SNES to come on to eBay, look it over carefully in the pictures, you have a money back guarantee if it fails to work!! get a Great scart lead pay Good money for a lossless noise canceling scart Lead, buy a replacement power supply to replace the brick psu, get yourself a cart adaptor, Why ? you plug it in to stop all the wear and tear on your console inner interface. my prices were 55 pounds looks new SNES, psu 4 pounds, scart lead true RGB 7.50p, cart adaptor 18 pounds ...i have perfect picture sound as it the original SNES not a copy cat or emulation or a very pricy clone.... there's something about playing the real thing!!.

These systems are fucking over the scene by using non commercial use code for commercial purposes. Read up on it.
@Madlittlepixel7 жыл бұрын
These are clone hardware systems, not using any software..... I think you got the wrong video LOL. Ive done a video talking about the issues of open source code and none commercial use GPL's, which there is none of that infringed on with these systems in this video... so not sure what you are shouting about. Check it... kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGicmJyLnK-EmsU

Hyperkin have definitely ripped code before.
@Madlittlepixel7 жыл бұрын
1000sofusernames Yes they did with the Retron 5, they used Retroarch and emulators they were not supposed to use in for sale projects. But these other types of consoles dont do that.
@creechrfeechr80947 жыл бұрын
I'll be surprised if they aren't stealing the code still. Personally, I'd rather just continue to send my money to Retroarch and the Retropie guys than fill the pockets of these Chinese ripoffs. Thanks for the video though!
