Easily the best video I've watched covering this camera pod.

I don't know who this is for, but I opted for the large. I own an XT4 with the Tamron 17-70, and it's PERFECT. However, it leaves no room for anything else. I was hoping g for some wiggle room for snacks and accessories. But I am gluing some netting on the side for those. This is perfect. Great video. Thank you! I love the side mount style

Got the X-T5 and the 17-70. I was concerned that the large would be too big, but that’s great to hear that the size is perfect. Thank you!

I almost made my purchase but I like that you mentioned how the pack moves around while scrambling because the attachments are the top, I never thought of that. Aren’t there loops at the bottom you can attach also?

Hyperlite is a great brand! This is helpful since we are getting a new filming camera soon and want to protect it while hiking. We will likely go with the large since we have dslr cameras

purchased the regular a while back and fits my leica vertically. love the attachment points and lightweight design. However it failed badly in the shower test - under about a minute in the shower it had pooled a puddle of water at the bottom, no doubt through the zippers (no zipper garages) meeting bluntly together. So for light showers I'm sure it'll be fine but for any serious trips in wet backcountry I'd still opt for a rolltop padded dry bag.

Good to know. Thanks for sharing. Yes I’ve only had it out in light rain, but will have a bag ready if I downpour should happen.

@@BackcountryRenegade tbh even an hmg small drawstring compression sack as a liner would do the trick. those things are solid under duress.

Hey guys, here is a ultralight way to carry your camera while in the backcountry. What do you think of the Hyperlite Camera pod? Do the pros out weigh the cons for you? If so what size will you be getting? Thanks for watching.

Obviously the zipper is a weak point for water but are all the other seams sealed? I should be getting the large one in the mail soon for my Sony A9, super pumped to try it out.
@BackcountryRenegade3 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Yes all seams are sealed.

Hi i got the r5 mark ii with rf 70-200mm it fits perfectly in large pod but carabiners and strap seems weak and im having trust issues. Anyone used it with heavier gear?

This is helpful. I'm really tossing around the idea of this bag instead of the peak design capture clip. Plus I sometimes take the Sony 70-350 telephoto lens. I guess my question to you is, over prolonged use, do you feel like the bag slows you down in comparison to the capture clip?
@BackcountryRenegade3 жыл бұрын
i dont use the capture clip, because I use the peakdesign cuff mount and tie it to my strap on my bag. I like it better and it is cheaper then the capture clip and it allows me to have one quick release mount for everything. That being said, I use the bag. when I'm on steeper terrain or scrambling to protect it, or when the weather looks like it may rain other wise i keep it on my clip.

Put a quick loop at the bottom ankle point attach to you body it will prevent the bag from swing forward that’s what I will do I’m wondering if wear it as crossbody bag is doable or not thanks for sharing

Looks nice, but seems a bit too small for the a6000 series with anything other than the kit lens. I would like to see a little more room in the smaller size. I would opt for the larger version based on your review.

Agree a tad more room for bigger lens and able to fit the small rig it would be awesome

Thanks for the thorough review! Looks like a great bag, I'd probably opt for the larger size just to have some extra room. I could probably fit my M4/3 camera and a small extra lens or 2 in it. Only bad thing is it's rather pricey $$ :S

This is an awesome camera pod for smaller camera body's. The Large size Camera Pod does NOT fit full frame DSLR, or larger Mirrorless body's (opening width is too narrow, height is OK). Wait until Hyperlite comes out with the "XL" size for these larger camera body's.
@JAaronMattox2 жыл бұрын
It does fit the Sony A1 pretty easily though. So it’ll at least fit any Sony mirrorless body even with a Tamron 70-300 lens

“A7SC” haha, no such model. The HMG site says A73 size (full frame I suppose) with a 24-70 zoom lens, it’s 24cm long. Just measured my A74 with the GM 24-70 f2.8 (not the new v2) and it’s 21cm long
