@@AnthonyMetivierMMM I am in my way to become a mathematician and a physicist, my favorite activity for training my mind's eye is to read a problem, sometimes when the problem is large and complicated I use the Major System to memorize it, I lay down and with my eyes closed I try to solve it, with time I've realized if the problem is easy enough my mind's eye solve it by itself, showing me the steps I have to take, without me counciously having to think about it! It sounds crazy, and I actually believed that reaching this point was near impossible, but it is true, we have here in our heads the greatest computer ever created, we just have to learn how to use it:)

There is a TEDx about my personal journey, yes: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oafXip2ap86Gpq8 There are a few videos around where I talk about future plans, but often projects are abandoned as scientific exploration of what an audience is interested in dries up. That, or my personal interest fades, or things just don't turn out as planned for whatever reason. But I am working on something now that I think ties together the many themes in a way that will appeal to many more people. We shall see. And if it doesn't work out, older themes may be revisited, or entirely new ones introduced. Thanks for your interest and support!

that time first thing in the morning when you wake up, and also last thing before you sleep, is when it's easiest to visualize clearly. I really love this idea of combining meditation and memory palace's. I didn't consider it before, but I did think of something similar. Which was memory palaces for each of the sensory modalities. The idea is when you go to that memory palace you try and experience as much as possible in that modality. I.e. in the touch memory palace, think in terms of textures, what does the banister feel like, the carpet, the walls etc. In the sound memory palace, what can you hear. Loading each one with as many associations as possible.

There might be a relationship there, it's true. Mind you, I have had many lucid dreaming experiences, and they weren't particularly visual. @@AnthonyMetivierMMM Yes I enjoyed this meditation a lot. Anything that help you get into touch with direct subjectivity and wakes you up to the miracle of NOW feels very good... that hyper-aware sense of Consciousness of Self is exhilarating and exalting ;).
@AnthonyMetivierMMM3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the NOW does indeed feel fantastic. The best part is when you can extend that contact beyond the meditation. I have found a mixture of movement and passage meditation useful for that. I have much more these days, but this is the text that really got me started on full passage meditation: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZixgmyYipKhe8k It gets into procedural memory and then reminds you throughout the day not to take the clouds of thought that obscure contact with consciousness too seriously. They start to blow away with much greater ease almost without having to do anything.

Being a visual artist, visualisation is a huge help when it comes to being able to take what's in my brain and bring it to life with pencil, pen and paint. But for whatever reason I struggle to visualise clearly - I can definitely see things sometimes, but it's normally quite clouded and faded like the brightness and opacity of a video has been turned down. (If I do occasionally see something clearly, it'll only be for a fraction of second.) I am able to hear and touch and taste though, so I haven't given up hope that I can eventually visualise clearly. I've tried a few methods to train, but this video has helped me understand more about visualisation than I had initially. So thank you very much for producing this meditation, and hopefully with more practice I'll eventually be able to see inside my mind more clearly.

@AnthonyMetivierMMM3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your post. I’m aware that he was tormented by images he could not release himself from as a kid. He then used positive visualization to combat these and this eventually led to imagining various invention. As he describes this, it goes far beyond mere “visualization,” though. And many people miss the part about how he would “feel” that his mental conclusions would be accurate. But they still went through drafting and manufacture and testing like any other invention must. Sadly, those stages are elided in a world more interested in fantasy than reality. Not only were there many errors, but he sometimes had to think about solutions for several years. Or am I missing something in my understanding? 🙏

The thing for me is that I can image myself anywhere, at any time, but the picture is not super vivid. Almost like the landscape/scene is at the back of my mind. It is indeed impossible (at the moment) to know what is going on in anyone else's mind. But one reason why you might feel this way may stem from your particular definition of vividness. It's possible that what you're experiencing is much more vivid than what I experience, for example. But how you define it might make that hard for you to track.

I just turned 49, and my wife was reading and said “I think this is you”. I read it and said what do you mean? Don’t you see that as well. No. So reading about this I am what seems to be the extreme, nothing is difficult with my mind. I was honestly bored watching this, and skipped ahead, ☺️, and got to where you named off the yak and the color and the rest, as fast as you named them I saw each one, and quickly added many features before the next word. Star Wars, when I first saw it at the age of 5, changed my life, the force seemed a little like what I could do, and I certainly was a Jedi in my mind as a little boy. Anyway I would like to learn more about this.
@radiofreefairbanks Жыл бұрын
I honestly don’t know how people can function now. How do you communicate without having the conversation 500 times before it happens? Don’t you open the door in your mind over and over until you actually do? When I was a kid I stayed awake most nights, as I would have my daydreams at night in my room, when it’s dark it’s easier to imagine, eyes open, and swam through my worlds, and fears. I think I know why some songs make me cry, movies, words, scenes, and the other side of sad too. Every word has 10,000 pictures..

It must be wonderful to have the gift of visualization like this. Congrats! There's a lot of information about synesthesia, including on my blog. There's more conversation in the comments on both the synesthesia and hyperphantasia posts. I'm not sure how to answer your question about communication. As far as I can tell, all the conversations I hold have happened thousands of times before. It's basically just morphology and syntax unfolding in real time based on one's mother tongue with reference to the limited set of possible conversations here on earth, under the sun. Does this way of looking at things make sense?
@radiofreefairbanks Жыл бұрын
That does make sense. I can see now that I used that to base whether I would ask or tell my parents something, after every good or bad outcome was rehearsed, I would decide whether or not I wanted to say anything. I still do it, although I’ve learned to control things in my mind better now, but I have to remeber that my wife doesn’t have to answer the way my mind played out a certain conversation, the thing in my mind wasn’t real, but it certainly is just as real to me as when I’m talking out loud. To hard to write what I mean. I’ll dig into the blog for sure. Anything else that can help me understand, even though finding out not everyone thinks this way, has opened my mind of why I do things and think differently. I’m mind boggled to be this old and find out it’s ok to “pretend like a kid”

I am a lawyer by profession, and I need to remember and recall a lot of section numbers and case laws and the gist of the same ... They run into hundreds of thousands! Any special technique you have for the same... Apart from regular practice? Thanks and regards, An admirer from india! 🙏

Thanks for your kind words. Practice, yes, but especially with the right tools. Memory Palaces should be well-formed and a full range of associative-association tools should be made for words, numbers and names. Practice with verbatim for the law is recommended, as is real-time practice while listening to court case replays. Does this response help you out? 🙏

Yes, this helps a lot. I will practice these recommended methods and if required contact you again.. Thanks a lot!

I used to daydream in my brain like I was watching movies that never existed, but nowadays it's just a huge void, a complete and utter void. It's even hard for me to fall asleep because I can't imagine anything…

Is there a way to connect memory to improving Brazilian jiu-jitsu or martial arts or is it only for recall of information. Thank you for your time.
@AnthonyMetivierMMM3 жыл бұрын
Possibly. I would look at the choreography post on my blog and see if the principles can relate. Just search Magnetic Memory Method and choreography. It should come up for you.

It has been a game changer for many. The trick is to get set up on the strongest possible footing from the getgo.

do you think this meditation has more benefits then image streaming?
@AnthonyMetivierMMM2 жыл бұрын
This is effectively Magnetic Image Streaming, which I believe is better and more beneficial than the other forms. I’d be curious to know your outcomes if you put both styles into a split-test. 🙏

@@AnthonyMetivierMMM so can i get photographic/eidetic memory from this meditation?
@InterestMedia1012 жыл бұрын
@@AnthonyMetivierMMM yo old dude you gonna reply or not?
@AnthonyMetivierMMM2 жыл бұрын
I have no reason to believe that photographic memory exists. Eidetic memory is very interesting, but I've seen no evidence that it can be developed or is even necessary to develop in order to improve your memory.
@freddyhercz1532 жыл бұрын
@@InterestMedia101 I knew a person with an eidetic memory, but he was weird and unfocused. Long term spatial memory is a lot more useful and cool.

i can't see,touch,smell,hear what I think. No one believes me when I tell that. But I recently remember me imagining something that's too ashaming to say. Since I am anonymous in Internet , I'll share it here. That I used to imagine my teachers naked when I was 14_15 years old. Female teachers even though I am female. Until I remembered that, I thought I never visualized and realized others can visualize the things in real. I was 17 when I discovered this condition of mine. I was a huge lover of books but it hurts too much while thinking that others can literally see what they read . and me here who just sees some mere letters. I really wanna get out of this. what should i do?

I suggest learning how to be unbothered by the contents of the mind and/or becoming unbothered by the fact of being bothered. Here's the thing that helped me the most: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oafXip2ap86Gpq8

I have had Aphantasia since I had a serious concussion that gave me major migraine episodes weekly for many months that was eventually cured with CBD. The last of several concussions. I used to be able to meditate where I was flying over mountains and I could feel the breeze and see the mountains and surroundings in full color but now even guided visual meditations do absolutely nothing. I’ve bought crystals that were specifically to help open your third eye but nothing seems to work. I think it’s almost worse to have had it once for a very long time then not be able to visualize anything.
@AnthonyMetivierMMM3 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about your experiences. Unfortunately, it's very unlikely that crystals will help. Going through this meditation a few times along with the other memory exercises I teach are a more likely way to improve. Aim to practice for 90 days.
@ChooseCompassion3 жыл бұрын
@@AnthonyMetivierMMM Yes obviously the crystals didn’t work but I will do what you suggested. I feel robbed and I want that ability back. Thank you so much for your generosity. It’s greatly appreciated especially since everything else I’ve read and listen to said it was basically hopeless. ☮️
@AnthonyMetivierMMM3 жыл бұрын
I do not believe that this situation is hopeless. Worse case scenario: You learn to work with what you've got and find out that consciousness is equally blissful just as it is. Happy to help in any way that I can. :-)

@@ChooseCompassion - I am sorry to hear about your troubles :c have these techniques helped your situation at all? I feel trapped out of half my mind because of my aphantasia - I feel your pain even though I didn't lose it exactly (something happened when I was young, which is when I can pinpoint that I shut the images off before I had chance to expand on them or explore them, that was 2 decades ago now). I feel like my brain is stagnating (even though I use it a lot, just not the visual part), so I came here in the hopes of finding something I can at least try to commit to, in the hopes of seeing improvement?? I hope you are doing okay 🌻

But what does it mean for those I love?? That they are some sort of agreed upon construct to come and go as I will? And of death?
@AnthonyMetivierMMM10 ай бұрын
What specifically about this exercise raises these questions in your mind?
@johnathanoverton612210 ай бұрын
I suppose I would have to give it another listen. I must have been considering the fundamental nature of reality and mental constructs. That all physical reality is symbolic of the mental realm. Your question is fair. I will listen to the video again and try to pinpoint the specifics residing within this exercise. These questions do not seem far from ideas you seem to ponder, though my familiarity with your person is this video and roughly half of the interview you conducted with John Graham. Of course, my own orientation at the time of listening likely has as great a role in the ecological model as does the exercise.
@johnathanoverton612210 ай бұрын
Oh! If I recall, I believe you were conversing about how everyday life is actually active hyperphantasia. Of course, the implication there is that the world is as we see it transpiring.
@AnthonyMetivierMMM10 ай бұрын
I do consider these issues, but often people misunderstand the exact nature of how I am approaching them. I would suggest completing the interview with John and also the recent one with Nelson Dellis and perhaps reading The Victorious Mind in full to gain a better understanding of my approach. In my approach, the "nature of reality" is the subject of endless questions, never any answers. Those who think they have answers are essentially practicing transcendent philosophy, whereas I am talking about pure immanence. More on that in this discussion with Nelson: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGOXYZh8j7OkZpY

I don’t understand this title. Hyper indicates you visualize very well
@AnthonyMetivierMMM11 ай бұрын
Hyper means "over," "above," "beyond." Phantasia in this sense means fantasy and imagination. Hence, the exercise involves going above or beyond mere visualization and into other realms.

Really hate when ads are placed in the middle of Meditation videos. I'd rather watch 5 ads before the beginning of the video than have one break my trance like state. Thumbs down. Will not watch anymore of this content. If KZbin is responsible for the placement of that ad and not the Content creator I apologise

These days, they run them even if you shut them off, which as you point out is deeply problematic. Shoot me an email and I can get you a version you can download and play without interruption - though I do mention my site and this content would not exist without the understanding of people who kindly support my work directly. Thanks for your patience and understanding in the meantime and warm wishes for reaching the goals that made you interested in this video.
