Great work. Love it! How do fix the monitor, since it doesn't have a VESA support? I'm with the same problem...
@anetanel7 жыл бұрын
I took the base apart (about 15 screws) and used the little metal part that connect the base to the monitor. I screwed it to a piece of plywood. I also added a machine screw to the top of the bulge at the back. It is covered with rubber.
@luismarcolino7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for you explanation. Do you have some pics? Other question: on the plywood layout you have "4.template", where did you use it? The back door and control panel are 490 mm, 10 mm less than the 500 mm. In the video those parts don't seem to have that difference... Did you use 490 or more?
@anetanel7 жыл бұрын
There is a link to a dropbox album in the forum thread: www.dropbox.com/sc/3mgb881atgjd53l/AACg7RcyKQm69XhzeppPbfwRa The template is an extra side panel that I used to draw the two actual side panels. Later on I used it to flush trim the side panels with a router. Now I can (and did) use it in other builds. Initially I cut the back door to 500 mm but it was too tight. So I removed 5 mm from each side. It is hardly visible, but I used some white insulation foam on the inside of the door to give it a sealed look.

if its a pc, how did you get it to start up like that ?
@anetanel8 жыл бұрын
Its a i5 6400 CPU with 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD drive for windows and 1TB drive for the games. To start Hyperspin (or any program) you change the default shell in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Shell Change "explorer.exe" to the Hyperspin executable, or startup script.

how do you fit a computer in there?is it a mini pc i dont see how you can fit all that in such a small space!nice work !
@anetanel7 жыл бұрын
One easy option is to use a mini PC such as Intel's NUC (although I don't know how you would power it on..). But I simply used normal PC parts with a mini-ITX motherboard and managed to cram everything inside.

I used the on-board graphic card. The Intel 530 chip is quite powerful, and runs everything rather smoothly, even with GLSL shaders. PS2 games are the only exception. They run pretty good but you get some visual glitches that I did not see with a Geforce card on another system. I don't think it is a matter of "power" such as a drivers issue. The screen is HP Pavilion 22cw. Whichever screen you choose, make sure its an IPS panel. TN panels have horrible viewing angles. Also, make sure that it has VESA mount option. My didn't have and it was a bit of a hassle to mount it.

what admin buttons do you have on your layout? I'm build my first bartop with hyperspin. Going for 2player 6button setup with no front cp buttons. trying to keep up high from toddlers. Putting buttons in this order (1st player button, 1st select/coin) then center have 2 admins (??) then (2nd player button, 2nd select/coin).. what admin button should I put or combine buttons to make life easy? thank you
@anetanel8 жыл бұрын
As you can see, I put 4 admin buttons, but its an overkill. I think you can get away with 2 buttons: Exit\Back & Pause. On another machine I used Player 1's first button as a Enter\Select button for HyperSpin.
