👶 Hypnobirthing Birth Story 👶
I'M BACKKK!!!!!! You probably didn't miss me but if you've been wondering where i've been then this video might just answer your question! I gave birth to the most beautiful girl on the 7th of February and have taken some time to enjoy the first few months of motherhood.
This weeks video is my positive hypnobirthing birth story. I gave birth in the UK in hospital but we did have a home birth planned. Watch the video to find out how the birth of Juno was and keep your eyes peeled for her KZbin debut!
Lots of love, Franks x

I'm shocked at how much you had to do at that stage of labor. The thought of getting in a car, getting inside a hospital or around one, getting examined laying back (I'd daresay that wasn't necessary of them, you were pretty clearly at an advanced stage). You did amazing!

Thank you so much for this vlog! My husband and I are both big, and baby’s estimated birth weight is around 10 pounds. All the doctors are trying to push us into an early induction at 38 weeks and or a c-section and everything in me is screaming that I can do this, naturally, without intervention. Your vlog just amplified my resolve, thank you for that ❤

I’m in a similar situation, predicted “big baby” so being advised induction. But practicing hypnobirthing and really don’t want an induction. Was Juno predicted to be big by a scan? And what week did you have her? Were you near your due date? Thanks

She was predicted big but specifically long. I remember her legs and abdominal measurements being in the high centiles. I had Juno at 41+1 and she was 10lb 8 ounces. I've got friends that were predicted 'big babies' and they ended up being totally average sizes. Go with your gut instinct and belief 💗

My son was 10lbs 4oz, you’re the only person I’ve come across that has had a baby as big as mine! 😂 I’m now 30 weeks pregnant with my 2nd, and I feel more anxious this time around than I did the first time. I also read The Positive Birth Company book with my first pregnancy and I thought it was absolutely fantastic! I ended up having an instrumental birth, but I still felt so positive about it (at the time), I was just over the moon to be a mum and have my son in my arms 🥰 I’m also predicted to have a big baby this time also 😅 Hospital has jumped straight to recommending a C-Section! I think that’s what’s making me feel more anxious, because I feel they intervened too much with my son, when I feel like I could have done it all myself if they had just left me to it. Basically, if I do end up in hospital again, I want them to leave me the F*ck alone, and I don’t want to become stressed by them telling me what they want me to do 🙃

You do you what you feel best mum...you know your own body more then anyone else...can't believe there saying you should have section after you managed to birth naturally with your first baby ...I'm due my 4th baby in July ...first was a section ..due to complications luckily after I was able to birth naturally after first baby twice...each time gets easier ☺️good luck with everything either way and congratulations 🎉

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I have a friend that was told she was going to have an 11lb baby and her daughter was 7lbs when she was born. Take it with a pinch of salt! You can do this no matter the weight! Your body is designed to birth your baby ❤️

This was the perfect video! I'm coming up to my due date and am planning a home birth in Brighton but we have been told it might not happen due to staffing issues, both with the homebirth team and Brighton hospital (so we may be sent to Haywards Heath too!) It's so good watching a positive hospital birth story. We've done all the same things as you so far, so I'm hoping my birth will be just as empowering and positive. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for sharing positive birth experience :) Love the T-Shirt too! 2024 Jan now. I am in my 20th week of my 3rd preganancy. Refreshing hypnobirth experience. I did hypnobirthing for my 2nd, i wanted and had a quick VBAC. I love how i felt less scare or tense in my 2nd one. Now, I intend to have an even calmer and smooth, positive birth experience.

I think its great that you were open to going to hospital and it didnt impact your birth experience. I have been told the same at my appointments as I have requested a home birth. I am really struggling with this information however. I do not want to enter a hospital unless there is a medical reason for me to go and I have been told if that's the case and there is staff shortages at the time of my labour - then I can free birth without a midwife, but it is not recommended. What gets me upset is that so much money is invested in often unnecessary medical/surgical births which could be avoided if correct education and planning is provided such as hypnobirthing. So due to lack of NHS funding, resulting in staffing issues, many woman cannot have a home birth experience. I find the situation very heartbreaking. If I asked for a planned section I am sure this could be paid for and planned without much second thought - but homebirthing teams is where the funding gets cut? Blows my mind, where have we gone wrong.

This is amazing, thank you so much for sharing! I had an emergency section with my first 3 years ago because she was back to back and 9lbs 11 (I’m only 5”3). I’m pregnant again and terrified of the same happening, can I just ask if you were overdue or on time? did you feel pressured to opt for an induction because she was big? I’ve expressed I will not be opting for a C-section but I’m currently trying to navigate the tricky topic of also not wanting an induction but trying to be sensible about how overdue I may potentially get. Sorry for the word vomit, thank you again so much for sharing this! Xx

I had 3 children, not too many years back ALL births were natural births without medication, no epidural was ever given or even a thought, they were only given for c sections … so all mothers just a generation ago or so never had a choice of a epidural, believe me I would have definitely had a epidural for all 3 births , my last baby was 10 lbs 7 ozs , just to give you a idea of why I would have loved to have had a choice 😀anyways all mothers , no matter how they choose to give birth these days are very lucky to have the option to choose…. CONGRATS to all mothers 👊

Just for some perspective I chose the epidural, immediately dealt with the cascade of interventions and it ended in emergency c section. Some women who chose epidurals have zero issues, I'm not saying it's always bad. But epidurals pretty much always come with pitocin and some listed possible side effects of pitocin are increased risk of c section, delayed milk production, postpartum depression, uterine rupture and stillbirth. I'm not trying to be nasty or difficult, just saying for anyone trying to decide that the choice for an epidural is definitely not a guarantee of no pain and can sometimes bring much, much higher levels of pain, long term consequences and limit the number of children you can have. Obviously things can go wrong with natural birth too and birth is unpredictable, you can't plan for every single thing. I went into my first birth thinking that the natural minded mamas were trying to prove something to themselves and I didn't understand the possible consequences of interventions. I thought epidural pretty much always equaled pain free birth and that c sections only happened for twins, breech, cord issues and really rare problems. In my personal experience, the epidural was directly responsible for my c section. I couldn't move so my OP baby never got a chance to move into proper position and as soon as they started the pitocin, my baby's heart couldn't handle it, his heart rate got very low and it became an emergency (pretty common for babies to struggle to tolerate it). I would do it all over again for my son and this is not meant to scare women. You should just be fully aware of what CAN happen when you choose the epidural. I wish I would have educated myself long before my first birth but I didn't want to because I was afraid of the pain. I'm not looking to argue or debate, this is purely my own personal experience and perspective to anyone else who may wonder why a woman would choose to attempt birth without an epidural.

Epidurals have side effects including increased risk of c section, so count your blessings that it wasn’t an option! I had mine naturally at 9lbs 4oz and was at a birthing center so no option of epidural thank goodness because I finally wanted one about 22? Hours in, but he was born probably 8 hours later and it was rough, but so glad I wasn’t in a hospital where they would have c sectioned me for sure.

Just a tidbit that may mean something to someone- pay attention to the increasing intensity of the contractions, even more so than the spacing & length of contractions. Some people, like myself, may experience bouts of regular contractions and bouts of spaced out contractions. Or have it pretty much only spaced out. I had very intense contractions in transition that were like, 20 minutes apart.

Speaking of which, my third baby was a weird birth. It felt like I labored 3-8 am, a pause, then 3-8 pm. Birth is odd lol
