Calcium carbonate will not be absorbed with patient will low stomach acid . Calcium citrate or calcium lactate are best absorbed in the body . If you eat a lot of calcium rich food and have Tatany it just means your body is not absorbing the calcium because of low stomach acid . Apple cider vinegar will help . Drink 1 to 2 tablespoons once or twice a day till your symptoms go away . That was the solution for me . I hope this helps anyone with the problem.

Excellent presentation. But I would like to add that you should never give calcium and rocephene ( cephtriaxon) in the same vein and/or infusion because it will precipitate causing serious outcomes. Besides I hope that you use the mg/dl instead of mmole because most authorities use the mg/dl ....Thank you

CaCo3 can not be absorbed in an alkaline stomach and most are on PPIs also need Vit D too.

Oral tablet should with condition enough stomach acid. Patient with low stomach acid is hard to absorb calcium supplement

i take 1 calcitrol 0.5 in the day and one at night. i take 3 to 4 vitamin d3 i take 3 or 4 tums... calcium.... and I'm still require iv treatment every other month .....

I have total thyroidectomy 5 years a go, I take calsium 3x, Selenium, zink, vit D, and magnesium glycinate at night before sleep. Hope you can be healthy and normal again. dr Andraz thank you for this information. This information was very helpfull for me after thyroidectomy 2019.

After calcium level is ok by infusion.. she may start with calcitriol tabs. Check with the doctor

Calcium carbonate should not be taken . Take calcium lactate or calcium citrate . Your body needs stomach acid to absorb calcium . Most people are low on acid and cannot absorb calcium . Apple cider vinegar will help .
