.. Laowhy is German American and he said in his video he is German , and he is not hypocrite. But how about you serpentza?. You said in your videos you are British and carrying a Union Jack flag on your seat belt of your car and even before you were not asked of your nationality .. ..but you are one fourth British as your grandmother is British.. Now you say about others' hypocrisy?.. You yourself are not hypocrite?.. ...???...You are three fourth German and you are found to be from SA and your nationality is not British but SAn.. Why do you cheat?... ..and did you really graduate from a two year college as you said? Where is the school and in what year ? ...who is a hypocrite? Not you?

Another nonsense about you Serpentza.. When I checked through China's English language teacher policy from overseas I found it to be a four year college degree policy firm . So my question is how you got over the loophole of this legal barrier and obtained your teaching English career in China????... Did you cheat on your document or your sponsering school falisified yours???... Now you self cheating on your identity including your disqualification as teacher in China are disclosing others' hypocrisy?. ...and another interesting thing about you?.. on one of your arm a vivid iconography tattoo is inscribed.. Why do you hide it?.....

I fully agree with you about South Africa, Winston. My penpal/friend who worked here in England during the late nineties, lives in Johannesburg. He works in a bank and lives in a ‘secure’ gated area. He helps raising the young daughter of his murdered brother. I beg him to come back to England, he had his best time here but idk if it would be a difficult move and idk what he can afford. It breaks my heart to think of him there.

Excellent program! Some takeaways, group thinking and nationalism, this content is evident of what’s wrong with group and identity politics. Also, this has lead to the deaths of hundreds of millions people, I’m so sick of the Chinese Government totally taking advantage of the openness of other countries, especially what I’ve seen in the USA. BTW she’s a perfect example of what’s wrong with China.

Nationalism and identity politics is a natural instinct that human beings adapted over time to help protect their culture and values. Unfortunately the world is not as "open" is one would like it to be and because of this others are all too willing to take advantage of your kindness and replace your world view with theirs.

My wife is 63 and after 3 years of marriage (I am 73), still has very limited English, but where we live there are about 1000+ Chinese "backpackers picking and packing tropical fruit" give her heaps of friends for chats and dumpling making weekends... She went back 3 weeks ago and the corona virus thing forced her to make an enforced stay as the business she went to attend was put on hold indefinitely... Her superannuation was embezzled from the bank along with that of many others who had retired at the same time (all older women, without husbands?)... She expects to be there for 4 months now... My 'long' face, whiteness and blue eyes are desirable traits, - compared to her 'round' face, fair skin and slim stature...

I can’t imagine why she felt it necessary to make a you tube video with such a vapid set of points that are so easy to make fun of and show such hypocrisy. This woman’s video would not be allowed to be shown by CCP in mainland China. If this woman thinks China is so great then she can go back at any time and give up the US advantages she has gained by moving to the US. She must be getting money to do this.

You’re right and she should go back to her own country because I was an American. I don’t want her here with that attitude, because Americans are outgoing and friendly for the most part.. sure there is always somebody out there who is offended by everything because somebody said somebody’s pronouns wrong😂😂😂 they live in their own little world, but I don’t hang around with those people and I don’t even know them because I live in Virginia but I just see stuff on the news and social media and I laugh it off. She reminds me of those people and you should go back to China.

Exactly!!! what’s amazing is that if she’s a American citizen, she is no longer Chinese because you cannot be a duel citizen in America if you are Chinese citizen! I guarantee you that she knows very little about American history, and she couldn’t even name anything about the revolutionary war, or our general, our president or the Civil War. And this young woman hasn’t put any hard work or blood, sweat and tears, In this country, and she sounds like a leftists not back to me and I’m a moderate conservative Libertarian, because I think the Republican and Democrat party are too big fat, bloated federal government, and much bigger than what the constitution ever wanted. The Chinese wouldn’t be eating today if the United States and some of the western countries wouldn’t of sent, half or more of our businesses over to China and 1990s so these people to eat and not starve to death even though the majority of the money went to the CCP, and I never agreed with the west doing this, because it hurt Americans and took Americans jobs and the American middle class in working class were diminished and especially the working class became just freaking dirt poor!!! Yes, I have a beef with my government and greedy businesses in America and China over that issue . My biggest problem with China is their biological warfare with COVID-19 chemical warfare with fentanyl and stealing $35-$40 trillion worth of our intellectual property and then they attempt to remake a copy of what they steal from us but it’s not even 50% of what an American product is and then they put out propaganda about what they have military wise in space program. NO Country in the world has grown so much and 30 years weather is America or Russia and it’s just because they’ve stolen so much from us and I want it taken out of their butts! Even though Taiwan is part of China, they’ve never ever had anything to do with Taiwan in Taiwan is so beautiful compared in China! The only reason the CCP would want Taiwan is because they are desperately desperately in economical and social crisis and God help us. I pray America in other countries in the world will never let China take this island just to steal their microchips and here in America we are now making our own again, because originally we didn’t make them with Texas Instruments and then they were outsourced the Taiwan. I got a year or year and a half ago in Joe Biden in Congress passed money to get micro chip manufacturing built back up to speed again.

Great video. I just recently came across your serpentza channel and subscribed to ADV. From my last visit to China, reading the “news”, ie propaganda in the hotels was enough to make me throw up. The hypocrisy of Chinese “soft power” is beyond ridiculous. One could ask what she has got from America and what she owes to American society, unless her living expenses are paid for by China. I sure hope the authorities are looking closely at her.

Love your new show guys. I am an American man from San Francisco and married a Shanghainese woman in 1999, and can relate to all of your experiences. I've spent many, many years here, and currently have been here for over a year again - You guys are spot on 99% of the time, and very informative for any Westerner thinking about moving here for any reason. Yeah, I caught the video of that woman too a couple weeks ago, and was really disgusted with her. The first thing I noticed was she was living in typical American apartment, and commented to her that it appeared she was reading from a script, and that she should run back to China quick to witness firsthand the "Great Fall" that is looming over her utopian country - debt, housing bubble, stock market tumbling, a now a great new emperor squeezing the life out of the best days ahead of them. Good job, and keep it coming. Vietnam baby is the place to be these days if you like Asia!

Good podcast guys. People foreign and domestic alike can say whatever they want about the United States, and if they are correct, I will agree with them. The USA has a lot of work to be done with its own problems. However, every time I see a Chinese person comment that does not like what you say, they never comment on what you say, they always deflect the subject to something unrelated. That lets me know you hit a nerve and what you said is correct. I have had a few "discussions" with Chinese trolls in your comments section in the past, and they act the same exact way...not to mention as you said, they are either here in the states, or hacking around their own countries firewall to post to your forum.

All Chinese should see these videos but the not-so Great Fire-Wall won’t let them. But if you could just get your videos in front of as many overseas Chinese as possible that would be a great achievement

Been watching you guys for years, had my doubts about the podcast cause I wasn’t sure what you could talk about for an hour, but I was very impressed. I never sit through podcasts, this was very interesting and great show, just like the 2 main separate accounts. I now have another source of content/entertainment to watch every other week, so thank you! I look forward to more podcasts :D

Recently in Korean, there's actually protest about protecting dog meat-eating culture. They try to push the legislature to legalized meat dog industry. and "protect" pet dogs at the same time.

Another detail, attacking the character of a person instead of his logic is called "ad hominem", it has zero validity in a debate.

I agree with Winston about the girl who post video regarding to the dog eating issue in China. I think she really believes that only very old people eat dog. However, personally, I think fewer young people living in the big cities will eat dogs nowadays.

I gotta say guys, I'm not that excited about ADV "China" moving outside of China but this first podcast episode is very good. Very promising. I loved each section, loved Diem chiming in inside the castle with the background music lol. This was very good. In the future, just try to include a TOC in the description for each section and that would be it as far as I'm concerned. Subbed.

A friend of mine spent only 3 years in China going to school and teaching English and learned Chinese so well that he called a Chinese business, they assumed he was Chinese. The people at the businesses would be shocked when two white guys showed up.
