I can relate to everything you say in this video. High protein + my binaural meditation music resolved life long issues of hypoglycemia (even below 40mg/dl) for me during day which led to intense fatigue and cravings of chocolate and sugar and esp. at night. I just found out through CGM that this had been the reason I woke up regularely at night. If I could give my younger self an advise it would be: "EAT LOTS OF HIGH QUALITY PROTEIN" and cravings of all kind will disappear like magic!

Really good info. Im 47 but have had it my whole life. And I crave salt and add tons of it into my food and still my blood pressure is on the low side. I think its adrenals as the only thing that ever helps my hypoglycemia is adrenal supplement - adaptogens but they also give me terrible insomnia so cant take them longer than few days. Been hypothyroid my whole life so i think its linked to that. Also very interesting connection with feeling safe as that something I never felt in my life. I have constant doom and gloom feeling and the worst case scenario running thru my head. I will look into meditation. Helpfull video. Thank you. also your voice is very young I thought it was the girl on the picture talking :)

Rewatching and I'm glad to hear some research was done on this! I've had this issue since infancy and sometimes I still struggle. At the time, I found it hard to understand and was mostly inferring a lot from the other information available even when there was nothing that covered my situation directly. It caused me to be overweight as a kid because I was "eating when I was hungry" but not enough protein, so I was often hungry and agitated. My blood pressure ended up really low when I was pregnant. During the glucose tolerance test, I felt fine. They stopped at 2h as they do. I left and went on with my day and suddenly felt so absolutely awful at 3h (shaking, sweating, weakness) that I had to have a coke as that was available in the moment. I literally thought I was going to fall over within seconds, it was horrible. But all my tests come back normal (glucose, insulin, etc.) so I've had to try solve it myself. Protein and nutrients help a lot but I always thought it was an autonomic thing... now in perimenopause I feel like there are other factors now too. My body feels stressed and I don't know why, I've also gained weight and can't lose it despite activity. I am relieved to have no insulin resistance. I loved the Metabolism Repair book - what a treasure! My bloods came back normal so I'm going to try adding Chinese Medicine to encompass all the stuff going on. Thanks for covering this topic ❤

@@LaraBriden Thanks! I'm putting the puzzle pieces together, thanks to you. The book is so comprehensive without being dry, bloated or narrow in view. You're a very good writer, and I also love that your podcast episodes are short. I tell people about your work every week! Thanks for all that you do! ❤
