Thank you so much Dr Briden. I am 52 and am having horrible PMS mood symptoms (physical symptoms too). 😢

Today I learned that a normal bleed is 5 TBS. Wow, you mean to tell me that most women barely bleed at all? I could probably mesure in cups
@LaraBriden27 күн бұрын
Yes, 80mL or about five tablespoons is the acceptable max for menstrual fluid lost over all the days of the bleed. Of course, some women lose as much as 400mL, which is not good.

I can relate to everything you say in this video. High protein + my binaural meditation music resolved life long issues of hypoglycemia (even below 40mg/dl) for me during day which led to intense fatigue and cravings of chocolate and sugar and esp. at night. I just found out through CGM that this had been the reason I woke up regularely at night. If I could give my younger self an advise it would be: "EAT LOTS OF HIGH QUALITY PROTEIN" and cravings of all kind will disappear like magic!

Could you provide your opinion on suppository (rectal) progesterone? I have read that rectal progesterone is better absorbed. Levels of progesterone are higher and stay higher for longer than with oral progesterone. Most of the progesterone ingested orally is broken down by the liver. This by-passes the breakdown of progesterone by the liver. Thus, less negative symptoms (fatigue, tearfulness, food cravings) are experienced. The only issue is less pregnanalone is produced. Some of the health benefits would be lessened and possibly lost. I'd really like to know the breakdown - the pros and cons of taking one over the other. IM progesterone is another way to bypass the breakdown of progesterone from the liver. If two can be combined (oral and suppository).

Hi Dr Lara, such a timely episode. I've recently started using a CGM for seeing what foods serve me best but have realised I'm experiencing regular hypoglycemic events (which makes a lot of sense). Where to from here? Standard pathology checks out ok, so not sure my GP will be able to help. Thank you 🙏

The subconscious rules the body..unless you clear the root cause within the subconscious and the biological reason why your body is creating it you won't clear it. Its actually related to a "loss conflict" within the subconscious. Look at epigenetics

This does not surprise me as I have endometriosis and many other autoimmune issues, allergies etc. In my late 20's ( I am now 44) I cut out all gluten, dairy and refined sugar and I have stuck to this. I don't eat rubbish gluten free alternatives though which are often just as inflammatory, I eat quite low carb and very few grains at all. Meat and lots of vegetables and some pulses, nuts, olives etc I don't drink alcohol since my early 30's either. It has not cured the endometriosis but has helped massively and I have not had any type of surgery for it. Prior to doing that I was off work for 2/3 days, bedridden shouting out in pain like I was in full blown labour, that is honestly what the cramps were like. I still have quite painful cramps but nowhere near to this level and only on day 1.

It is very useful info indeed, thank you. I had endometriosis that turned ugly. I tested the perspiration and the result was nickel, bingo. My endometriosis aggravated after 20 years of no dairy consumption when I reintroduced dairy in my diet. Am just getting confirmation for my experience.

I realise this is an older video, but I just had to comment. I have a confirmed inflammatory autoimmune disease called ankylosing spondylitis, caused by being HLAB27+. Other members of my family have other HLA diseases, coeliacs for example (and many others in distant relatives). I've always been convinced that my endometriosis was autoimmune or linked to the immune system simply because it makes sense in my body and with my family history and my genetics.

No... PCOS is NOT "an umbrella term like IBS" that "just means you have high androgen levels when all other conditions are ruled out..." 🤦♀️ That's so vague and invalidating and completely disregards the fact that there is literally a list of necessary diagnostic criteria for the condition, and both androgen levels AND ultrasound results are on it! (So yes, doctors absolutely CAN - and DO - use ultrasounds to confirm a PCOS diagnosis! Just because you ALSO need a full bloodwork analysis to rule out other conditions doesn't mean the ultrasound is any less valid! 😑) What the title/intro to this video SHOULD say is that PCOS "cannot be diagnosed by ultrasound ALONE," since there are TWO parts to the process, one of them BEING the ultrasound, and that distinction matters! High androgen levels are a SYMPTOM of PCOS, not the root cause of it! For anyone else who's here to try and learn more about their own diagnosis, here's a link to a video that (IMO) explained it a lot better: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6SXh2qBrqqlkNksi=GjQjjLIzj8Xqpmyd

Finally diagnosed in 1984 after 22 doctors telling me it was in my head. I passed out twice from the pain. Had a laparoscopy and it returned 4 years later. Only pain meds were offered which I took until going to a naturopath who stopped it in its track. Pain free until I went back to the old diet. Each case seems to be unique. Mine hit me every 2nd month 1 week after menstruation. Ovary attached to bowel caused bowel to spasm and send uterine contractions. Just plain painful and penetrative sex made me hit the roof as leisions all over ligaments Yes diet works

I've had it for maybe 15 years and it used to be extremely painful. I don't really notice it anymore. Especially since I cut back on drinking alcohol and eating foods with sugar and white flour. I think inflammation definitely plays a big role in my body.

Really good info. Im 47 but have had it my whole life. And I crave salt and add tons of it into my food and still my blood pressure is on the low side. I think its adrenals as the only thing that ever helps my hypoglycemia is adrenal supplement - adaptogens but they also give me terrible insomnia so cant take them longer than few days. Been hypothyroid my whole life so i think its linked to that. Also very interesting connection with feeling safe as that something I never felt in my life. I have constant doom and gloom feeling and the worst case scenario running thru my head. I will look into meditation. Helpfull video. Thank you. also your voice is very young I thought it was the girl on the picture talking :)
