Don’t freak out Hyram!!! 244, aka the ‘theatrical’ product she’s using ISNT alcohol!!! We use it all the time in special effects makeup and it is very oily. Other than remover, lots of people like to mix it in with cream or pot eyeliners to make them smoother to apply. So it’s ok, it is NOT alcohol or acetone!

It's used mainly as a moisture delivering component in conditioners and moisturizers, but it's intensely emollient property quickly dissolves makeup very efficiently." Apparently that's the only thing in it.

There are also a few variant 244 formulations out there from what I can tell, but yeah, they are all just cyclic silicones that are very similar to cyclopentasiloxanes, if not actually cyclopentasiloxanes. Low molecular weight cyclic silicones are flammable all by themselves in high concentrations. Can someone sit down and teach Hyram what an SDS is and how to read one? It makes it much easier to assess and understand proprietary products.

@Hailey Xo cyclopentasiloxane is only "bad" for your hair if a) your hair disagrees with it as an ingredient, or b) you've bought into the "clean" hype and have a phobia of things that aren't unpurified plant mush. ;) It's a very lightweight silicone that washes out readily, and for most people it very effectively serves the same purpose an oil did back in our grandmothers' days by giving hair strands a little lubrication and slip without making the hair feel damp or weighed down.

The slightly shorter version of all that is that when I look it up, I'm also finding out that 244 is either cyclopentasiloxane or something so similar it makes basically no difference, that cyclopentasiloxane is flammable all by itself, and that you can find at the very least the "important" parts of ingredient lists for the types of products that aren't required to list them by looking up the product safety information (SDS = safety data sheets), which those products are required to have.

It’s a running joke from the show. Trixie was in some drag pageant (?) and she won and the hostess was wasted and called her “Tracy Martel.” Now when she’s making fun of herself she’ll sometimes call herself Tracy. That show is soooooo worth watching. It’s my favorite thing in life.
