I have a theorie on how Zelda, and two animes can connect. Those animes being one piece and Attack on Titan. Its not convincing AT ALL, but I like to believe it. The first in the timeline is One Piece. One Piece has sky islands, there are lots of wars in One Piece. The wars put the world in a terrible state. Half the world was wiped out. Then we enter Attack on Titan. People would have no time to explore, therefore forgetting the sky islands. After the world was destroyed, literally, the goddesses came down and built the new world. They still weren't 100% sure if the titans were fully gone, so they made home in the sky. Then starting Zelda. Plus Gruce (sorry if thats not how to write it) from Skyward Sword looks a lot like Franky, from One Piece.

I have a theory that link is in reality just ganons toy. Think about it, the two never really kill eachother. I mean even when they do they always come back, neither ever has a permanent death. Ganon already has been shown to have the power of posession and over malice, Link from Zelda is not the hero if time he's ganondorf's toy to be played with when he gets bored, and yes that does mean he already has the other triforce pieces within his pocket, it's why Zelda can stick around for thousands of years as well, so he can keep his toy (link) going through psychological manipulation.

Not sure if this is popular opinion or not by now, but my little theory is that the shrines in BOTW aren’t actually literally under Hyrule, but instead warp link to a separate dimension (possibly something akin to the sacred realm) like how the trial of the sword works. This seems more plausible to me than these massive gauntlets, sometimes with literally infinite pits, being hidden underground! It would also make more sense for the sequel - if we really are to be exploring Hyrule’s underground in the sequel, we’d be running into shrine trials every two seconds if they literally are underground! Makes more sense for them to warp link to another realm 🤷

The Trial of the Sword takes place in an area with the same architecture and materials as the Shrines, and it's explicitly in another world, likely the Sacred Realm. At least some of those Shrines probably wouldn't fit in the physical location they're suppose to be in (the two on the mountain tops seem too big for such narrow summits), so this makes a lot of sense.

I really like this idea. Also note the Trial of the Sword. The Master Sword is explicitly stated to be the key to traveling between our world and the sacred realm, and when returned to its pedestal, Link can go to any of the sword trials. Given the sheikah’s connection to the royal family and the gods, it’d make sense that they could use their technology to create more gateways accessible by the hero, as well as modify the sword pedestal to reroute Link from the Temple of Light to the sword trials now that the temple is unused, and the rest of the shrines exist around that plain.

5th Theory is how I have seen the "Timelines" too. The games are called "The LEGEND of Zelda" for a reason! For ME: Skyward Sword is the Definitive start and BOTW is the end All the other games are just a game of telephone, thru history, about Link, Zelda and Ganon/Ganondorf. The details/events are different/changed/exaggerated/left-out, because its people telling what they heard/their version of what happened between Link, Zelda and Ganondorf.

Expanding on the Ganondorf theory, what if Demise's Curse is a sentient force that chooses its host? That is to say, the Curse was going to inhabit Vaati, until he was defeated and it decided he was too weak. It ultimately settled on Ganondorf because of what he did in the war. Sounds cool to me

Honestly, given that I believe inciting traumatic events that shaped Ganondorf. The “curse” makes me think he shouldn’t be redeemed as it would make his hatred have more justified backing, even if he carries in a harmful extremist way, it would ruin any arc for that. If his curse was indeed chosen at birth, a redemption by exorcising a curse would actually be more meaningful. I mean Ganondorf in Ocarina of Time’s Child timeline seems like he would’ve been a teenager when Link and Zelda were still babies. He could’ve been subject to whatever went down in the Shadow Temple. A Shadow Temple survivor, seeing the horrors that the Hyrulean Authorities established changed him. I mean the Shadow Temple looks very recently abandoned given a lack of structural decay.

Ganondorf near the end of the game says something along the lines of "you truly are the Hero of Time reborn..." But, Iwata actually confirmed later that this Link ISN'T related to the lineage of heroes and isn't a reincarnation, merely possessing a heroic spirit. That's why he has to find the pieces of the Triumph Forks and complete the Tower of the Gods - he isn't the chosen hero, so he has to prove himself. So you are right, he wasn't born into the curse, he just ended up getting pulled into it by coincidence.
@RachelScalfani

Ganondorf is the reincarnation of Demise, Zelda has royal blood that decended from the goddess Hylia (minus Zelda in Skyward Sword, who is the reincarnation of Hylia obviously), Link has the spirit of the hero.

@@OtakuUnitedStudio Iwata could have been right, but I wouldn't stake Zelda lore on his take--he didn't really write any of it or fully involve himself in the lore. Besides, didn't he just say that WW Link wasn't related to OoT Link? Anywho, I think it's clear that Link does indeed possess the spirit of the Hero, or else it's one hell of a coincidence that a blonde kid who looks like Link (happens to wear the traditional clothing, is recognized by the king to be the destined hero, and is recognized by Ganondorf as the hero reborn) picks up the Master Sword and saves the world. Even SS Link had to prove himself despite being Hylia's destined, chosen hero, so certainly the trials WW Link faces do not disqualify him from the title.

Any of the Links are related, not even blood liked or as reincarnation; they're chosen on the spot by the divine force on turn or if the master sword considered him deserving. On the other hand, Zeldas always are from royal/goddess bloodline and the evil force always reincarnated in Ganon's form

One theory of mine: Four Swords Adventures is the most important game for the Breath of the Wild timeline. 1. Ganondorf/Ganon has a trident just like in the first trailer. 2. In Creating a Champion on page 363 it says "Ganon having long lost his reason becomes Calamity Ganon" meaning that it wasn't Ganondorf, it was Ganon. Link beats Ganon at the end of Four Swords Adventures, but, it might have taken a little bit longer before he transformed into Calamity Ganon. His body, was reverted back to Ganondorf, but, his malice spilled out from his body and became Calamity Ganon. 3. The ancient Sheikah were expecting Calamity Ganon. They may have seen the future or, they heard of the past Hero who slayed Ganon and accidentally created Calamity Ganon.
@andresbarquin
@andresbarquin 2 жыл бұрын
I find this theory to be very plausible, especially considering the second trailer deconfirmed the theory that the ganondorf from twilight princess is returning. We only hear of ganon weilding a trident but never ganondorf. FSA ganondorf is the only exception to this. The only ganondorf we know weilded a trident. It is nice to see some FSA theories.

Ooo interesting, there's also the point of how ganon is sealed in the foursword at the end of FSA, a sword that is shown to maybe not always be the most effective at permanent sealings. Good reason for the sheika to expect a return? idk

Just to add a bit on your third point. Time travel do exist in the Zelda series as we could see in OoT with the ocarina or in SS with the portal in the temple on earth. So i'm wondering if maybe the ancient sheika could have traveled to the past. After all, the sheika technology in BoTW is a lot more advanced than anything we've already seen. I'm thinking that maybe the Sheika have found a way to master time travel?

The "no timeline, only legends"-story is how I've been seeing the series for about 12 years. To go even further, I imagine a grandpa telling the story and whenever it's a "game over" an exited grandkid says something alike "noooo, that's not how it goes". The grandpa smirks and does it whole "it wasn't? I was so sure of the story. Okey, where was I again"-rutine.

He doesn't have the Triforce though. Only Zelda has the Triforce, we know this because all three pieces shine on her hand in all cutscenes across both BotW and AoC, so Ganondorf CAN'T merge the timelines, nor would he be able to observe his alternate timeline counterparts, as he has no feasible way of having the Triforce of Power, again, as the Triforce has been brought back together and hasn't been shattered, and we know that Ganondorf would need all three pieces in one place when he was placed under the castle.

The Swamp Spider House from Majora's Mask could be the source of the skulltula curse. It looks like a shrine, or perhaps a grave, to some spider spirit or monster capable of creating a curse. The Oceanside Spider House is a much more mundane place. It could have been a normal location until whoever lived there got afflicted with the skulltula curse. Possibly due to their greed.

I gotta theory I've been thinking about for few years now. The time line split was not caused by Link getting sent back to his original time, but by the curse that Ganondorf place after his defeat in OoT. For example any movie or TV show when you go and change the past you completely change or delete that section in the future. What child Link did after being sent back should've deleted the adult time line, but Ganondorf's curse kept it intact

I'm personally more onboard with the theory that Ganondorf is actually a reincarnation of Demise rather than just some sort of piece of a curse (there's a good deal of evidence for it,) though it is kind of neat to think of the "curse" as being something that attaches to, amplifies and enhances figures that show enough evil and malice to be worthy of said power

In that story, it states that sidon was swallowed and he pierced it's stomach from the inside. I think the water temple in the sequel is going to have this giant octorok as the boss with the spot sidon had pierced be the weak spot, or, going off of the swallowing bit, it itself IS the dungeon, like jabu jabu

I have a mystery that confuses me the more I think about it: So in BotW by the Dueling Peaks there are the ruins of the former Deya Village. I remember a few years ago when I first found this area, I got really excited because I had never noticed it before, and I started to theorize about it. Basically I thought that the stone talus there had destroyed the village before the events 100 years prior to BotW, my reasoning being that there were no guardian remains, and also that the memory when Zelda is taking shelter under a tree in the rain is just up the hill, and if there was a village right there why not just stay there? (It was my first theory but I was excited) But then Age of Calamity came out, and here’s where things start to get interesting. I haven’t played the game yet so I could easily be missing something, but from what I understand Deya Village is in the game. (I don’t know if there are any missions but I think there are side quests from the village) Apparently Deya Village was known for it’s seers and mysics, and some people have theorized that that’s where Astor is from. I also wondered if the seer who foresaw Ganon’s return might be from there, or maybe they had relatives from there. That’s all I really know, and again I have not played AoC, so I could be missing something. Still, I would love to see an in-depth analysis or theory about this place, if anyone knows about one please let me know.

I have a kind of a theory about this theory 11:56. I was playing OoT today and something came to me after remembering this video. What if the first guy who were passing down the legend about the Hero of Time was the Kakariko Village guard from the mask quest? It makes sense. He's had an eye on Link every since he was a kid, he laughs at first when Zelda vounched for him, but he recognizes that he's not an ordinary kid; he goes to Death Mountain and returns unscaved. Not only that, he probably hear things from town's folk about him during the child era. This builds up the hero image that he has of Link. And since he had a son of his own, he probably had a soft spot for Link. Assuming he doesn't die during the 7 years, he then could've witnessed first hand Link's bravery and heroism or at least heard about them and put 2 and 2 together - "ah, it's Mr Hero!". If Kakariko Village was his home when Link was an adult he surely would've met him or saw him again. Maybe he saw him and Sheik duking it out with Bongo Bongo near the well. Maybe he was the one creating the story told in the beginning of Wind Waker. This theory doesn't have any real legs but I always imagined an outsider creating and passing down the legend of Link in the beginning of WW, not someone who knew Link personally like Saria or Mido. Anyways, I would love to see your take on it Hyrule Gamer!

Regarding the last one, I believe its been all but confirmed that this was the original plan, but fans wanted a proper timeline. Thus they made one and released it in HH. But the games themselves don't link up well enough for there to be a proper timeline using just what they say

That was the case originally. It was only around the time of MM/WW when the zelda team started to develop a real timeline. They had been making the timeline since WW. But all the games before it weren't really meant to link up in a real timeline.

A theory that I came up with: Do you think there's a third evil-banishing sword. Everyone knows about the Master Sword that's banished Ganon countless times, but there's also the Picori/Four Sword that sealed away Vaati. Given how important the number 3 is in the Zelda series, (3 pieces of the triforce, three spiritual stones, etc.) I wouldn't be surprised if there was a third, magical, evil-sealing sword somewhere that the Royal Family has kept tucked away out of sight. Maybe each sword also represents a different aspect of the triforce too. The Master Sword being Courage as Skyward Sword Link had to courageously forge the blades with the three flames (another instance of the number 3) and whenever it runs out of energy the Link who obtains the weakened master sword has to test his courage. The Picori sword might represent Wisdom as the Picori race who made it are widely regarded as being a very wise and intelligent species. So perhaps there's a sword (or any other kind of weapon) that banishes evil that represents the aspect of the Triforce of Power.

The no timeline due to all being a legend is an old, interesting, but overused theory. Ultimately, there are two ways to take this approach to it's fullest; either everything is literally all just legend (meaning causality, theorizing, and even the stories them selves have no meaning), or the legend aspect only comes into play with inconsistencies (which is still a bit of a theory cheat). in the end, saying that the games are just legend, diminishes the impact of the story. I prefer to think that the legend part comes into play when each game talks about it's own history. Even if each adventure does fade into legend, we at least have ties between direct sequels, and even the few parallel games.
@DyrianLightbringer

I have been saying for years, commenting on multiple videos, that the timeline isn't real. It's just something made up after the fact to try to please the fans that want all these games to somehow be connected, but there are too many things that don't make sense. If all of the games take place in a timeline, how come Hylia only appears in Skyward Sword and BotW? Why is the geography of Hyrule so vastly different between games? Why did the arrangement of the "timeline" change? The biggest one: Why does OoT somehow split into three timelines? There is only one ending for OoT, and that is Link becoming a child again. There is NO adult timeline, or failed timeline. These things can't actually happen in the game. If you want to use the argument that Link traveling between the present and the future somehow caused branches in the timeline, alright, I could concede that the future version of Zelda who sent Link back to his time after defeating Ganon could continue on, creating an alternate future, but there are still a couple of problems: You still can't actually have a timeline where Link fails to defeat Ganon. If that is possible, then EVERY game would have a possible branch where Link failed! If traveling through time allowed an alternate future to be created, then why doesn't Oracle of Ages also cause a branch in the timeline? Some of the Zelda games have sequels that make a 2 or 3-part story, but they are all just self-contained stories. Perhaps instead of a timeline, we're looking at more of a multiverse, or since the series is called "The Legend of Zelda" it really is just retellings of the same stories that get changed over time.

Demise is just from the old world, wanting to get revenge for what Hylia did. And in this world, Hylia makes herself look benevolent.

Some great theories here! The one about the whole series being stories is great! It is The "Legend" of Zelda after all! Also the one about a possible dungeon in the Yiga Clan Pit. I actually made a video about that exact topic. 😂 It's pretty bad though. Great video! Keep up the great series!

I definitely feel like that last theory is pretty good. It's like how we have so many different versions of fairytales and other such stories in our world. The events in the games could all be very similar events with different retellings depending on the point in history it was told or who was telling it. A very good theory:)

What if the yiga hideout was originally a mine for time shift stones for the sheikah to power the guardians and the hole is a really long mineshaft. After all, the lanayru desert likely came to be home to the gerudo and if the sheikah built the lanayru mining facility to harvest time shift stones, as their technological prowess suggests, perhaps the ancient cores are some type of highly refined time shift stone.

I do want to correct a possible misconception you gave very early on based on an iffy translation of the interview about Twilight Princess you linked. 『時のオカリナ』から百数年後の世界です。 "It is (set in) the world of 百数 years after Ocarina of Time." (untranslated part explained below as best as I can) I don't claim to be an expert in Japanese, but this phrasing seems very ambiguous. Instead of just saying "one hundred years", the article says "a number of hundreds of years" (sorry for the bad translation, the exact way it is said literally doesn't translate into English in an understandably ambiguous way). The way it reads, the developer could either mean "100 and something years", or "100s of years", or could just be saying it as a generically long period of time. It's really unclear.

About Ganondorf's birth, Yes, Demise's curse and the one male gerudo every 100 years thing are two different and separate phenomenons. And in The Wind Waker, Ganondorf says he wants Hyrule for really humane reasons, because he grew up in a hostile desert and was jealous of Hyrule's beautiful land. We're far from demon Ganon in other games. There's a theory saying Demise's curse isn't on him anymore in this game.

I agree that the Gerudo "left" Hyrule after Ganondorf was outed in Ocarina of Time, but left isn't very specific. More than likely they were beaten in a war under the leadership of Ganondorf. Like real people who have lost a war, their territory would have been conquered and they would have been "displaced" west, out of Hyrule Kingdom. Their holy site was converted by the Hylians into a prison (Arbiter's Grounds) to both judge captured Gerudo and punish criminals. Destroying or co-opting a defeated people's religious site is very much in line with Warfare. In Twilight Princess, the Gerudo remain scattered and removed from Hyrule Kingdom still.

I'd like to think that the three timelines did happen before BotW, but just that they repeated so much, they eventually merge into one and chain into the mysterious sealing of ganon, 10,000 years before the game. It's a self fulfilling loop which could have ended with breath of the wild's sequel. Ganondorf is reborn, begins the events of each timeline, and dies, where those events are slowly forgotten to repeat another timeline's. Eventually going on and on until we reach 10,000 years pre-BotW. The closest reference I can make out is Turn-A Gundam. By now, the franchise has lasted so long, it eventually had one "true" timeline where all the rest had joined together in some way to be related to that series. And considering BotW's sequel is going to feature time reversal somehow, it's probably going to either... A: Alleviate some of the mystery from 10,000 y/a. B: Reverse Zelda's supposed death and destroy Ganondorf in the process. Or C: Go back to stop the Calamity and save everyone which was killed in it. (But this is my pipe dream.)

My main gripe with "The past games are just legends"/"the timeline isn't real" 'theory' comes from how, well, broadly different the worlds of many games are. It's hard to hold that within the same single "Universe" that Wind Waker's global flood happened...and also Twilight Princess happened...and then Breath of the Wild has a map that mirrors large swatches of Twilight Princess' map of Hyrule and Ocarina of Time's map of Hyrule. Like, if the global flood happened then the waters receded, you would expect vastly different geology/geography and a world where past maps couldn't be overlayed on top of each other with few discrepancies. A caveat being that, yes we do get features from Wind Waker being present and references to that game and its sequel(s). And yes the flood could rescind or wash away elsewhere...but my point being that this would almost-necessarily change the geography in ways that preclude Twilight Princess having its geography as any sort of similar to that of BotW.

Alright, I'll throw something out there just for the fun of it. Fair warning though, I'm not a Zelda expert or anything. So, I've always kinda wondered where the hookshot came from and I kinda came up with a theory (mostly a story, but whatever) of how this item came to be. The item appears in the franchise a total of six times. The games being; A Link to the Past, Links Awakening, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, The Wind Waker, and A Link Between Worlds. Chronologically, that means it first appeared in Ocarina of Time. So my theory goes something like this: The hookshot is the result of Hylians trying to reverse engineer the longshot. I'll try to explain this as briefly as I can. So, the Water Temple always felt a little bit foreign to me. Even though there's multiple triforce appearances (fact check required. I know it's there once though) in the in the dungeon itself, some structures and details look different from the brick architecture normally used by the Hylians. Potentially making it not of Hylian origin. Instead it originated some other culture. One that is pretty smart considering the way the dungeon itself works and how there's an upgraded version of the Hookshot called the Longshot. It doesn't look Hylian and is just weird by itself, yet does fit the pallet of the water temple fairly well. This is my only real reason for thinking it originated from there. I remember a certain video explaining that part of the graveyard dungeon could have been a Shiekah lab. Assuming that's true, it would have explained why Dampe has it. Not the best theory, but it's a theory.

Metroid and the Legend of Zelda take place in the same universe. Hyrule was a kingdom on planet Zebes in the distant past, before the whole planet was overrun by Malice. Hylians fled the planet long ago, but Malice twisted the remaining races. Rito became Chozo, Gerudo became Space Pirates, and Gorons, Zora, and others devolved into beasts. In the far future, Samus carries the spirit of the Hero and the Triforce of Courage, Ridley embodies the curse of Demise and the Triforce of Power, and Mother Brain is the twisted and subverted bearer of the blood of the Goddess and the Triforce of Wisdom. Also, Link has an arm cannon now.

A personal theory of mine is the 3 core Nintendo games are all part of the “Legend”. Pokémon, Mario and Zelda make up the triforce of Nintendo. Mario wise, Mario is courage. Peach is wisdom and bowser is power. Pokémon, the protagonist is courage. The professor is wisdom and who ever the gang leaders are would be power. Pokémon also has 3 starters being a grass resembling courage, fire resembling power and water resembling wisdom. Mario also makes cameos in Zelda games and you could probably link Pokémon too with the Keaton mask/fox with pikachu and kids being hyped about it.

My theory is that the Sheikah were the bad guys all along in BotW. At least in this moment of the timeline, the Sheikah have decided to back Ganon. The legend from 10,000 years ago never happened - it was an elaborate plan to trick the Hylians into thinking they can win. The technology was planted into the ground, and Ganon was just waiting for the day their plan came into motion. Also explains why every shrine seems to be above a bottomless pit and leads to Link falling and dying every time he makes a mistake. Think of all of those timelines in which their plan worked and the Hero dies! Their plan to make “trials” for the hero were just death traps! And why, during the battle with Ganon, do we fall into an unknown observatory made by the Sheikah??? There is nowhere for the hero to run. Link is completely trapped - Ganon is able to obliterate him easily. Ganon rests just above this hole. Did he know about it? It was all part of the plan! Here is my theory about BotW2: The Zonai are described as “barbarians”, but this could also be part of the Sheikah’s plan to make them look superior and godly…. The Zonai caught onto the plan and realised they were too late. We can see (if our assumptions are correct) that they were just as technologically advanced as the Sheikah. They knew they were in danger on the ground, and made their own plan to protect the Hylians and themselves until the Calamity took place. They took to the skies and with their ‘magic’ they hid these sky islands from view. They could have even made a protective barrier. To everybody on the ground, it would look like they vanished from existence. Are you pickin up what I’m putting down??? The Sheikah knew what they were doing, but couldn’t go up to stop them. The Zonai made a last-ditch effort before taking to the skies. The hand stopped Ganon from being reborn. I’ll stop writing now but I hope you get the idea. We only know the Sheikah’s side of the story, and they could have made it up…..

About the first theory: I'm not sure it's a hierarchy change; maybe a "living style" change only. The rest of the theory is rather interesting! The legend/lore goes that a man is born every 100 years and becomes a gerudo boss, do I remember that correctly? Well, almost no one lives 100 years XD Plus, you have to wait until they're old enough to understand how to properly be a ruler. There HAS already have to be a system in which the Gerudo self govern themselves while they wait a man randomly comes out and needlessly ruels them XD (I always hated this lore, even when I knew nothing about the real world. They are absolutely thriving without a man, lol. Ah, the 90s.)

Theory: The Fierce Deity Mask and The Fused Shadow are dimensional counterparts. Termina and Hyrule are obvious counterparts, sharing similar locations, races, and even people. But what if even certain items are the same? We know Majora's Mask was created by an ancient tribe of people that most consider to be the Twili or Dark Interlopers. But we can't be certain that they're not merely counterparts as well, as Zelda is no stranger to alternate dimensions where everyone has a counterpart. Just look at Link Between Worlds. But back to topic, in the Hyrule dimension, when the Interlopers threatened the sacred realm, the Light Spirits sealed up the power they had into a mask that became known as the Fused Shadow. This isn't too dissimilar from the Fierce Deity Mask, as we have very specific information on the mask and it's origins from the game itself and even series creator Eiji Aonuma, both of which stated that the Fierce Deity's Mask was no more than a mask with all the power of the other masks, or as Aonuma put it "All the memories of the people of Termina". This would mean that the mask was created by the conglomeration of all of Termina's citizens' power, just like how the Fused Shadow was the conglomeration of all the Interlopers' power. Majora's Mask may ALSO be a counterpart to the Fused Shadow as it would be considered the power that would have been sealed away into the Fused Shadow. Fused Shadow is a "Fused" counter part to Majora's Mask and the Fierce Deity's Mask.

I believe all the villains of Zelda could be considered corrupted by Demise. Many villains just "snap" and become evil when in/around Hyrule or its goddesses powers. Vaati was good but flipped and became an eye monster, a symbol that would one day be used by the Sheikah. His transformation into a monster parallel's Ganon's own. Bellum from Phantom Hourglass also takes the form of a blackened mass with a single eye. Its possible it is what happened to Vaati after the Great Ocean destroyed Hyrule and damaged the Four Sword, releasing Vaati and it taking possession of the form it is in now. The villians from Oracle of Ages and Seasons are both of Guerdo origins as shown by the seals on their clothing. They are also part of Twintova's plan, and Twinrova worked with and raised Ganondorf. Malludus is described as a Demon King and takes a form similar to Ganon, with orange hair and a hog design. He was once good, but turned. Its possible Demise knowing Ganon was trapped by the Sword needed a new vessel for his wrath and turned a being of New Hyrule into a "New Ganon" to keep the curse alive. It seems even alternate realities are not safe from the curse as Yuga goes from being the sorcerer to evil. But looking at the design, orange hair, pointy nose. Yuga could be Lorule's Ganondorf, a male Guerdo. He is able to revive Ganonnand fuse with it, showing some link between the villains of Hyrule and Lorule. Possible connection to the Yiga Clan there as well who want Ganon revived to enact destruction on Hyrule and the Sheikah for feeling betrayed. In fact many villains in Zelda that are not Ganon/dorf, still revive him in some way as a boss, almost as if Demise is using them all to keep the curse alive and bring Ganon back over and over

I dunno, there's something seriously fishy going on with Ganondorf's birth. His mothers were witches who intended to bring about a special child, and the means by which they achieved it was unclear. They were some 400 years old, but with a Gerudo male born every 100 years, they would have seen others come and go, suggesting that it's not a Gerudo thing, but still possibly a Twinrova thing that made Ganondorf bound to the soul of the Great Demon Ganon. On the other hand, maybe Malice inhabits the body of whoever is the one chosen by the Triforce of Power, and _that_ was Kotake and Koume's plan, not so much the Malice connection. I guess we don't really get a hard answer either way, but we do have to remember that Zelda's role apparently _is_ tied to blood and birth, not a totally inherited role. And for what it's worth, Link has always been Hylian, as far we know, never a member of any other race or tribe. So as uncomfortable a thought though it may be, Ocarina and Skyward may suggest that Ganondorf's connection to Malice _was_ something of a Gerudo thing. I mean, Malice looks awfully Gerudo... It's a pretty racially charged read of the lore, but it's pretty common of high fantasy like this I guess. I can see why we'd prefer to imagine it differently

My theory is that there are more timeline splits in the zelda timeline than what is depicted currently. These timeline splits occur in the Minish Cap, Zelda II, and Spirit Tracks. MC has an alternate ending where link wasn't fast enough and vaati succeeds in draining the light force from zeldas body. In Zelda II, when you die, the game over screen reads "Return of ganon" accompanied by an image of the resurrected demon king. ST timeline splits intrigue me the most. In ST, there are 3 alternate endings depending on what career link chooses. This results in the adult timeline splitting into 3. This moment onward is entirely speculation. Each timeline will reflect the career link chooses. In the "Engineer" timeline, new hyrule will go through an industrial revolution. I'm talking guns, cars, motorcycles, airplanes, skyscrapers, basically new hyrule but if it was the mid 20th century. New hyrule will become a global power house, using their superior navy and power to colonize the great sea and beyond. In the "warrior" timeline, hyrule doesn't advance much further, but will expand their military and conquer much more of the new continent they have settled on and will be at war with many neighboring nations for control. And in the "uncertain" timeline, the future of new hyrule will be, well, uncertain. The kingdom will fall into decline and who knows what will happen from there?

So, the curse "Choosing Ganondorf" is as you said, a lot of fun cuz it questions what we know. And thanks to his legendary soliloquy at the end of Wind Waker I think it has a ton of merit! Not to mention, the lack of an appearance of Demon King Ganon in WW, could indicate that the curse has "left him" so to speak. Frankly if they were to truly remake OoT with expanded lore, Ganondorf, in his jealousy and hatred becoming chosen by the curse would serve as a nice parallel to Link, the chosen hero of destiny. Idk if you refrained cuz of the potential cheese factor, but the last theory is almost certainly true. I mean, it's in the title.

Here's my theory: there were 2 sets of sages during Ocarina of Time. The ones that Link awakens in game, and their predecessors, who we see in Twilight Princess. Rauru had already awakened as a sage when Link started his journey, and in TP we see a set of fully awakened sages, who were active in an era where Ganon had never reached the sacred realm, and who bore practically no resemblance to their Ocarina of Time counterparts, except for Rauru. Both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess also establish that while the 6 sages together can be a threat to Ganon, he is more than capable of killing an individual sage. These sages, who had probably been awakened when Rauru built the Temple of Time, were there when Ganon began his quest for power, probably waiting in either the temples or the Sacred Realm. When the Door of Time opened, Ganon reached the Triforce, and the Sages tried to intervene. Ganon managed to kill them all, apart from Rauru who hid in the Chamber of Sages to guard the unconscious Hero of Time.

It comes to my mind that Link's arm in BOTW can also be absorbed by Zelda but in the left hand (opposite Link's). Link would be in the heavens and Zelda below Hyrule. Each advance of the characters would activate a flashback or memory to the other character! As if she knows where she is but at no time will they meet during the game. Kind of like it was seen in Skyward Sword. They would have the same abilities but different in how to apply them. He didn't make the Sheikah tablet functional as it failed at the end of BOTW. The story would be based on what the hero of 10,000 years ago lived, both Link and Zeda will be transported to the past and will return to the end in the present to defeat Ganon and his malice.

I loved the video and if you would like another theory that needs a little modification Calamity Ganon is half Yiga half Gerudo. The way I thought of the Ganon story was every few centuries a Gerudo Male is born and that Gerudo Male is "special". Calamity Ganon was considered so special he rose to power and eventually overthrew the Hyrule Kingdom. Assuming this happens to be the story I was wondering why Ganon could power the Sheikah technologies such as divine beasts, and guardians. The story was always that Ganon had so much power and strength he could just overpower them. To me it'd also appear unreasonable that a person could gain this much power unless he had yiga or sheikah technologies, which is where the theory comes in. Also when it says a lot about Ganon being Gerudo it could mean Gerudo desert and the other big civilization here is Yiga. Another weird thing is that the Yigas support Ganon more like a god than a leader. He'd be like a leader if he overthrew the king of Hyrule and when it mentions that Calamity Ganon was like a god the Gerudo it might be a purpose mess up and mean Yiga. Also in the memory when Ganon firsts comes when Zelda is at Lanayru Road he is coming from that direction. If you'd like even more information you can try to find some yourself (probably near the Gerudo Desert). I understand this is very confusing and hard to comprehend but the theory is even though Ganon looks Gerudo he does weird stuff that makes him more like a Sheikah. But both groups overlap and the overlapping spot is the Yiga Clan. Also you have my permission to NOT put this message up into the video because this message is so long and you are welcome to (I also do something similar and it is a pain in the neck to go back and find the message sometimes.)

Their is the symbolism of the eighth warrior woman for the eighth sage. Their has been an eighth sage , a sage of the outcast realm , from the Twilight Realm. Did I already tell you this? I'm tired and can't remember. I'll say it again for good measure. The symbolism of being outcast is obvious , the twilight people were banished. Just as the warriors woman seems to be separated from the others. And each sage represents the tribe or group. And it appears to have castoff it's sword. While you might be thinking of Midna shattering the Mirror Of Twilight , guess again. The mirror , while dangerous , is nothing more than a portal when intact. To know the answer , you would have to ask one strange question. How did Zant kill Ganon when she was already long dead? Zant did want , in a messed up way , to restore the people of twilight. And with Zant as proof that the ways of the past were foolish and wrong. And Midna guiding the future , the twilight realm could finally heal.

That final theory is one I've been feeling has been very valid for a long time. Each "story" has elements show up in the BotW without official verification that they actually happened, only the player assumption that they did based on Nintendo's ever-changing timeline. In our own world, we have multitudes of stories with real and fantasized parts, histories with fabrications and verified facts as we learn more. Making a game with the same idea makes perfect sense, and is actually not a new concept, and could make perfect sense for the LoZ series. In fact, doing so could open up additional lore related to the world of Hyrule and its "real" historical background.

For the "Ganondorf wasn't born into the curse, he was chosen" theory I feel like the easiest way to explain it would be to compare him to Link. In Skyward Sword I believe Link is told that he's Hylia's chosen hero many times over, but he still has to do a bunch of bullshit trials to prove himself. Like, they either wanted to be super duper sure they got the right guy with all their tests, or he could've been any guy Hylia chose and molded into the hero she needed with the tests. In Twilight Princess Link is both a direct descendant of OoT Link and his reincarnation as well as a reincarnation of the original Link from Skyward Sword, but in the Adult Timeline OoT Link disappears and therefore can't have descendants and his spirit isn't around to reincarnate either so a new Link comes into existence in WW. This could suggest that both SS Link and WW Link started out as ordinary kids who were chosen by Hylia and molded into her champions because they already possessed qualities she was looking for and then their descendants/reincarnations inherited their spirits and their destiny. That's how I would explain the Ganondorf theory. He already had a grudge against Hyrule and the descendant of Hylia's human incarnation because she ruled over a beautiful, fertile land while he and his people languished in the desert. His foster mothers also likely influenced him toward evil. It's possible he had already become the incarnation of Demise's hatred by the beginning of OoT which leads him to seek out the Triforce and conquer the land as Demise had always wanted. But another possibility is that it wasn't until the end of OoT when he'd been defeated and his castle lay in ruins that he was filled with so much hatred for Link and Zelda that he'd satisfied Demise's criteria for an Incarnation of his hatred and that's when he became Ganon for the first time.

With number 5 you literally just described the Elder Scrolls series with is Dragon Breaks. All endings are true regardless of how things are perceived in the future. There is a character in Skyrim that says as much, "All versions of history are true, even the falsehoods, especially the falsehoods." The falsehoods are those who remember history differently but are no less valid than the current history. Also, If the fans hadn't pushed for a timeline these games would have just been legends, as that was the original intention by Nintendo.

The Curse of Demise does seem more opportunistic than inevitable. That would explain the lengths of time between games. The curse is like being possessed by evil. The villain has to be open to it for it to happen. I think that fans give too much credence to the curse itself. I don't think it has the power to transform people into villains on its own. Zants is evil and falls under Ganon's influence but he already started down a bad path before he started worshipping Ganon. The curse of Sin is on everyone but not everyone becomes a serial killer. Just because the curse of demise it present doesn't mean that the person will automatically become the villain of a legend Zelda game. His curse is very vague and honestly feels more like a "gotcha" poor loser move since he had been defeated multiple times already and finally got taken by link. It seems to me to be something fulfilled through the actions of those who are evil but not because the curse made them do it. Gravity (like the curse) doesn't make people fall of a bridge: People jump or slip off. Gravity just finishes the job. Demise's curse is also not the only evil being present but his evil will and intentions could be enacted by other beings like malleodus and majora. Not all of the bad things that happen are necessarily Demise's fault. The Nightmares that attack the wind fish are probably demons but not necessarily part of the Curse.

I have a question. In BOTW, why does the hero in the opening tapestry have red hair? Could it be that a Gerudo was the chosen hero, or could it be the Gannon in the sequel was not originally evil, and that he sacrificed himself and became corrupted by malice over the last 1000 years?

What if (and this is a very very long shot) Demise was referring to corrupting a part of the triforce by corrupting the user with his influence. Maybe Kotake and Koume were the reason Ganondorf was corrupted instead of him just being an inherit evil soul. I mean maybe the Triforce of Power was just the easiest to corrupt because absolute power corrupts absolutely.

To me MM is what needed to happen if Ganon was to be defeated in the timeline. If Child Link had stayed in Hyrule it could have changed the events leading to what happened in Ocarina of Time. Perhaps Navi being directed by the Great Deku Tree led the child Link away so the events in OOT would still play out.

I've been saying the last one for years now. Lol. It's literally called the LEGEND of Zelda. Just like real world legends, there's some truth to them, but many of the details have been skewed over the years and due to a misunderstanding of the underlying data.

In Twilight Princess, Link travels into the past to retrieve a mirror shard. There is a well known theory that the dungeon section of the Temple of Time is the Temple of Light. Based on the current timeline information, there would be no point in time where the Master Sword isn’t drawn from its pedestal in the Child Timeline until Twilight Princess Link shows up. That would mean that when Twilight Princess Link travels back in time, he jumps over to the Adult Timeline during the seven year gap in Ocarina of Time.

"There is no timeline, there is only Legend" - Well, that's not so much a theory, as it is what Nintendo keeps trying to tell us. They've basically said this, in one form or another, multiple times, but the fans *do not accept* it. We don't accept it for a pretty reasonable reason. We all want these stories, these, games, these events that we have *experienced* to be real, to be true, in some sense. Of course we know it isn't really, *really* real, but we want, within the continuity of this fictional universe, to say yes, those experiences we had were valid. This is a uniquely powerful urge with games, as opposed to other media, where we really experience these events, interacting with them, taking part in this history. It's somewhat offensive, somewhat minimalizing, somewhat frustrating... to be told nah, that's just a story, *not something you experienced* is difficult. We know it's true, we were there.

The reason why botw has things from all timelines is because of hyrule warriors. The timelines merged causing everybody to remember the timelines. Search “Game theory zelda timeline” and click on the one that says nintendo let’s talk. This should explain everything.

BOTW had so much hype for hidden story elements that never to fruition, it was so disappointing in that regard and the reason I just don't ever feel like playing it again, especially after I cleared Age of Calamity. I just hope BOTW2 addresses and elaborates on all the plot points the first game hinted at.

Here’s a Nintendo theory: all Nintendo games take place in one universe. This explains how Mario kart games can exist and same thing with smash. That’s why games have limits like in botw because you can go to those lands just playing as Mario or Samus. So with the new Mario movie coming out I think it will kickstart a new Nintendo universe spanning throughout games and movies.

I had a theory about the Deku Scrub race for a while now. So you know how Koroks are only seen by the young or pure hearted? Well what if the deku scrub race are sort of like spirits but only of the woodland plains that protect an area from travelers? Of course some of them are nice and dont attack like the sling shot scrub in OoT or the Deku Princess in MM. They dont seem to be totally malicious, more like woodland mercs that bursts bubbles at anyone who gets too close to them or whatever they are protecting. So what if the Kokiri and the Scrubs came together and sorta fused? Giving them their little wooden appearance as the Koroks? Of course i dont have much to go on, but thats how I think that the Deku have disappeared

Thinking of #2 what if they were on the right point, but it was more like the forces of evil, and or the demon tribe, worked on ways to manipulate and overall bring demises curse to votizion. The curse is not really a blood line per say, but more like a symbol of the demon tribes final orders. This way, unless the heros somehow find a way to eradicate and or make peace with the demon tribe, the curse will never truly end. This being why evil is never just copy and paste over Ganondorf everywhere. The only reason Ganondorf is seen lots, is because the followers of Demise feel like he is the best, and most likeminded being, to ever come close to being a perfect copy of him. The reason why Ganondorf is only seen rarely in the child and adult time line, is because unlike the downfall timeline, Ganondorf's rule is stopped or hulted in both. Like his adopted mothers said, they raised him and will follow his orders till the end. When he is slained by the next hero in the downfall timeline, the mothers work on bringing him back with there dark arts, a trait rarely seen by others exept of the demon tribe. When the ritual is in progress, the malic from Hyrule's pain and suffering, gather together and become one with Ganon himself. So with the power of malic, the eternal enemy to the light itself. This is why hyrule becomes pledged with Ganon's will itself in the downfall timeline. In fact, the demons themselves tryed to resurrect Ganon again, but was ultimately stopped by the Hero decades later... ( at least for now in the downfall timeline )

Well I'm not sure about the Ganondorf one because I remember in an interview Aonuma and miyamoto both talked about Ganondorf and said he was born from the curse BUT everything he did after was all him. Him being resurrected and attacking again in multiple timelines wasn't a result of the curse.

It's possible that Koume & Kotake could have used their magic to implant the evil into Ganondorf while also teaching him dark arts as a young boy. It seems odd that these two raised him with no mention of his actual mother. …Or it could have been like the movie, Rosemary's Baby. I'd side with either one.

I think the “No timeline…only legends” is a MUCH more rational explanation than what Nintendo did at the release of Skyward Sword. This has been my own personal view of it for many years. There was lots of existing history in the Zelda franchise before the creation of the timeline….and you can tell by how convoluted the timeline explanations are that it was never really intended….but was rather Nintendo throwing a bone to a vocal minority who insisted on having one.

You know how in Majora’s Mask, the characters are a reflection of the characters of Hyrule? What if the Zonai are the descendants of the Hyrule version of the aliens from Majora’s Mask?

Theory or not but I have something that came to mind regarding the 3 goddesses appearance in minish cap. It's well known to people who have played minish cap before that they are there for an optional side quest. What if the light force that Vaati is trying to take for himself is actually their power given to Princess Zelda? Their appearance can't just be only to look for a house you know. They are the embodiment of the triforce after all.
