You can also spray Hair Spray on your Battery terminals and that will prevent from corrosion :D. Thanks for the video!

I have a 2005 Kia Optima that has the same engine. I've always been advised to change the timing belt every 40,000 miles on it. It's been a great car, but changing the belt so often can be a pain. Due for it again soon.

I did it 5 times without removing the engine from the bay. Last time I have beaten my personal record and it took me about 4h from lifting the bonnet, to starting the engine. All fine.

Its Always a Good Idea to do the Crankshaft Position Sensor,Water Pump,Idler Pulleys & Jake Belt at Same Time of T.Belt Serv.the Csp Sensor is A Piss Poor Design & Rarely Lasts As Long as the T.Belt,Tks.to Aftermarket Ones that Are From China. Oreilly's House Brand is CRAP & HAVE LEARNED TO GET THE CSP SENSOR FROM DEALER OR ONE THATS NOT MADE IN CHINA.

If you just disconnect the ground lead there can be no circuit active so why the pos also?

this just happened in my 01 sonata 2.4 l. But belt was fine just slipped a tooth or like 8 lol. Dropped 5 valves and blew a hole in two pistons. But the cylinder walls are all untouched and no bent rods. so gonna get crank inspected and rebuild it with a new ported head.

This should be similar for most front wheel drive vehicles. The process to get to the belt may be different, but the results will be the same. The best thing to do if you can't find a view of your timing setup on the web, is go to AutoZone or your preferred parts store and either buy the book for your auto or at least thumb through it.

I have more footage on the actual replacement, just haven't edited and posted yet. Same here.. my Santa Fe's timing belt failed. Luckily I was stopped at a light and it didn't take out any valves, just the Crank Position Sensor.
