I bought a second set of rims and tires for my Veloster N. I have 18" Rial Lucca black machined rims with Michelin Pilot all seasons for the bad weather. I do like the machined look of the OEM 19" rims and Rial rims continue that look. My OEM rims and Pirelli tires are sitting in my garage waiting for the warmer weather. I also bought from Tire Rack with the TPMS. The tires pair-up quickly when I swap them out. Those Pilot all seasons grip nicely too. I like the center caps! I may want to buy a set.

They look great. I also purchased a set of gloss black Sport Edition rims from Tire Rack- arrived yesterday. I got a slightly different pattern- a 7 spoke wheel. Super happy with that look. Funny too in that I have the Continental DWS 06 Plus tires. I had them on my Civic Si and they ride and handle perfectly fine. I'm not going to track my car so the performance of the Conti's is all I will ever need and the slighly taller sidewall and lighter weight make up for any downgrade in stickyness. Great choice!
@n-power-automotive2 жыл бұрын
Ha ha nice! They seem like quality wheels so far. And I’m really impressed with them being so light for just regular cast wheels. The A7 look great, too! The DWS 06 really are great tires. They’re sort of the do it all performance tire.

Great choice on the rims and tires. The set up looks great. That extra sidewall will help with road surfaces and potholes but you might experience a little sidewall flex when pushing hard in the corners. I had the same tire on my '14 Buick Regal GS after running through two sets of ExtremeContact Sport DW (255/35-20). I installed the DWS 06 (same size) in the Fall of 2021 and used them through the mildest winter NJ ever had so I never got a good test out of them in snow or slush. That car got sold when I found my Elantra N in Feb '22. If I had to drive my car in the Winter this is the way I would go. Enjoy them and good luck! I agree.... keep them on all year!

Thanks! I haven’t pushed it at all yet to see just how much softer they are in the turns, but I know they definitely won’t handle as good as the 19” PS4Ss. So I might just put the OEMs back on if I ever decided to autocross it or have the opportunity to go on a road corse.

Looks Amazing! Very happy for you. I'm looking into something similar. Maybe you can help me out. This past weekend was a bit crazy. Have been shopping around for a 2023 Hyundai Elantra N-Line (the version lower than yours) for my 16 year old son. I think it is a nice car for a new driver. I'm in Southern California and the N models are about $40k and I wasn't about to drop that much just yet on my son as he is still in his first year of driving. He wanted a black color which has been hard to find. Anyways the wife and I went to a dealer this past weekend that had 3 in the showroom....blue, red, and a color called Fluid Metal which is like a grayish/silverish color. Ended up purchasing the latter which has a black lip spoiler, black side skirts, and a black front grill. I don't like the rims on the car so I have been looking into aftermarket wheels. I am wanting to get gloss black wheels and can't decide if I should go 18s or 19s. I love how 19s look as it fills up the gap etc. I'm looking at the Konig Oversteer, the Avid 1 AV20, Revolution Racing RR16, Curva Concepts CFF46 & C42. I know I named off 5 different wheels but what are your thoughts? Besides the wheels was just thinking of getting the Hyundai emblem badges on the front, rear, and on the steering wheel blacked out to match up with the rest of the car. And then possibly getting the roof and door handles wrapped in a gloss black as well....this I am still thinking about. In the beginning I mentioned it was a crazy weekend.....so while working out the numbers on the Elantra N-Line that was in the showroom, they had a 2023 Palisade Calligraphy (graphite gray in color) in the showroom as well that they called the Panda Edition. They had this vehicle sent out for custom work so the door handles were painted black and the entire roof of the car was painted black, they had 22" aftermarket black gloss wheels from Curva Concepts on there and a lot of other things. This car was crazy expensive. Wife fell in love with it (I did too....I'm not gonna lie) and on a whim we walked out with 2 vehicles. Used car market is insane right now so they gave us a ton of money for our trade in on her 2020 Jaguar SUV which I bought brand new two years ago (paid it off in a year). Anyways the dealer is going to keep the Elantra N-Line in their showroom until December 24th so we can surprise him for Christmas. They told me that if I bring them the wheels they will install it for free. What are your thoughts on my wheel choices? Sorry for the long post and thanks.
@n-power-automotive2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Wow, you sure did have a crazy weekend! Picking up two new vehicles on the same day -- that's nuts! I've had a lot of car dealership experiences in my life, but I've never bought two cars in one day. Congratulations on both vehicles! And what an amazing Christmas present that will be for your son!!! He's a lucky kid! I think the Elantra N-Line will make a perfect first car. Nothing too crazy horsepower-wise, good tech, respectable handing, great looking, and all the safety features you'd want. Excellent choice! Regarding the wheels... Now that I have 18" wheels on, and I've had a couple days to putt around town on them, I can absolutely feel a difference in ride quality. The 18s soak up the bumps so much better than the 19s. And with the gloss black they really don't look that much smaller. I still love the look of the OEM 19s so I very well may put them back on in the summer, but we'll see. With that said, I'm in my mid-40s so I appreciate the improved ride quality, but if I was 16 years old I probably wouldn't care at all, so I say get whatever you think he, and let's be honest, you, would like best. The 19s definitely look good on the car, no doubt about that. But the N-Line OEM 18s are great looking wheels, too. They remind me a lot of the Honda Accord Sport wheels that I had on my Accord, but those were 19s. As far as which brand to go with, I've only personally had Konig wheels out of the ones you listed, and they were really solid wheels. All of them look very similar. At the price point they're at, they're probably all very close in quality, but I'd just poke around and see how heavy they are. Wheel weight can really affect the cars handling characteristics. The lighter the better in my experience. Hope that helped. Let me know if you have any other questions. I'd be glad to share my thoughts.

What made you choose these over the as4's? Not sure which of the UHP all seasons are better. I plan on going 255/40/18's which will have a fairly thicker sidewall than stock. I don't want super mushy tires. Between the as4 and dws06+, the dws seems to perform a tad better in wet and dry traction (I'll have winter tires), while the as4's do a tad better at braking. The as4's are also stiffer. Both tires seem neck and neck overall and are both at the top of the UHP all seasons tires. Also, how do these compare in colder summer weather to stock wheels? Summer tires are kinda weird to run in Canada as you only really have 2 hot months. Even for a large part of summer, as it approaches fall you'll have cold nights at 2-5 degrees celsius, and the fall/spring months are even more wild. I'd imagine that on avg, these uhp all seasons would do better over the 3 season span than summer tires would in Ontario Canada. What has your experience been? How much worse are the dws on a hot summer day? From what Tyre reviews was saying in an incredibly well tested video, he says that there is an extremely small difference between the dws06+ and Continentals UHP summer tire on a hot summer day. I'd be interested to hear what your experience was like
@n-power-automotive Жыл бұрын
The reason I chose the DSW over the AS4 is exactly for what you mentioned about the AS4 having a stiffer sidewall. I wanted a little bit of a more compliant ride. I thought about going 255 instead of 245, which I regret not doing, but maybe if and when it’s time to replace the 245s I’ll go 255. It’s hard to believe Hyundai doesn’t give you guys up in Canada a different tire choice than the PS4S. Like you said, you’ll be lucky to get 2 months where they’re performing like they’re meant to. I bought my “winter wheels and tires” when I was already dipping down into the 30s here, so I haven’t ran them in any warm weather yet, but I had the same tires on my MazdaSpeed6 and they perform really good in all temperatures. I don’t think you could go wrong with either tire honestly. I think just because I’ve had DWS before it swayed me that way, too.
@shamalabadingdong Жыл бұрын
@@n-power-automotive have the tires been okay in that regard? I don't want to ruin the great handling of the car by getting marshmallows for tires it kinda defeats the purpose. 255/40/18 is just significantly more sidewall than 245/45/19. I hope you like cleaning rims because you will or have been judging by how old this video is (just popped up for me) Gloss black will make you a slave to them😳 That said, the style and centercap choice is perfect, I did this with my Konig Oversteers on my old 18' Elantra Sport, used the stock wheel center caps and they were a direct fit. People always said "those stock rims look great"😇

🤣 I just washed the car today and I thought to myself I hate how dirty these black wheels get lol. The EN brake pads are super dusty, so they do get very dirty, but man, when they’re clean they look amazing.

@@klasseact6663 it’s the price you pay to have nice wheels I guess.

The wheels and tires look great for downsizing on the wheel size and bigger tires! Do you plan on lowering the car too? Also, Thank you for your content for a new subscriber like myself who also wishes to own an Elantra N soon

Thanks for subscribing! No plans to lower the car at this point, but it’s possibly in the distant future.

Better ride less stability plus these cars have big wheel wells, bit if you like it thats what is important
@n-power-automotive2 жыл бұрын
Less stability? You mean around turns? If so, yeah, it’s a trade off having slightly less handling capabilities in the turns, but I don’t autocross it so I’m ok with that.

In the same boat as you. I don't like the stock wheels, hard to clean, ugly design. I may end up keeping the 18's I originally bought for winter.
@n-power-automotive2 жыл бұрын
I actually really like the look of the 19s, but having summer only tires gave me an excuse to get new wheels lol.

The stocks are amazing. Black rims just look invisible at times
