Hyundai Genesis License Plate Bulb Fix

Just replaced mine this weekend, and your video came in very handy. It's ridiculous that you have to do all that work just to replace a license plate light.🤦‍♂

I have one license plate light out as well as an HID ballast. NOT looking forward to removing the freaking front bumper cover AND half the trunk. Sigh. Seriously considering selling my Genesis after 8 years of ownership… just because of issues like this.

Dealer in Australia wanted $363 for 1 led globe, got it from south Korea for $50 for globe & $50 postage, 7 working days to arrive, this video saved me lots of frustration lol.

Do you have a sunroof? Did you have to go thru a recalibration process for that since the battery was disconnected?

So, how long did the entire job take you from start to finish? What did you do about the broken clip?

Job took about an hour. I used double-sided 3m automotive tape.

The last piece of trim that sits right on top of the lights does not need to come off no? Can't the light push through the trim?

actually i looked closer and see that it has to come off. It has a thin lip that makes it slightly bigger than the trip opening. smh what a pain in the ass.

Big pain, but if you want to save some money it's worth it. I would change out both so you don't have to do it twice. Thanks for the view.

@@livennlearn camera is easy to replace. No need to take off cover. Rubber piece pops out and you can pop back in.
