Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC 2021 - FMOD Sound Preview - Richard Burns Rally

This sound will be released shortly for all to use. It is a very nice display of skill from both aesthetic_sofa and JJBruce. Massive thanks to aesthetic_sofa for allowing me to have a go with these new sounds for this vid!
The stage is Biskupice II by Jan Kaderabek, Lorenzo Clerici and Silvio Kuhm.

Somehow this looks better than the Dirt series, without any complex shadows/shaders and volumetric dynamic shit. This era of gaming feels the best personally, you don't need high end graphics to recreate real life cause our brains are dumb, you just have to implement those graphics in a smart way. Reminds me of the new doom/quake sourceports. - You want it to look like real life or a videogame? -YES (and Fmod is a godsent)

Thanks for pointing that out. When I play RBR I always have that sense of visual immersion that no other rally game has ever achieved (at least for me). That combined with the physics is an killer combo

I've had similar thoughts slightly older looking games tend to look more immersive in a way. My thinking is that there is a graphics uncanny valley where it looks so close to realistic but small things are off so everything feels a bit off. In games like this is where it's like a different world you're driving in so you believe it easier.

No well “this era of gaming” my ass, this is an exception lol, in 2004 games didn’t all look like this one, there were Harry Potter games in which you could see polygons, even Jak and Daxter which was top tier, nowadays hurts a bit to see, god people are so blinded by nostalgia, Wacky Races, Harry Potter games, maybe God of War, Prince of Persia and GTA were other exceptions but the majority looked like World of Warcraft lol, 8th generation was the best in terms of graphics and gameplay balance.

Sounds really good as a spectator, but inside? Where is the noise coming from the interaction with the ground - gravel, the suspension bumping etc? Can RBR do that? Or did you just turn that off to focus on the engine sound?

Yup did turn it off, 1) because the sounds are a bit excessive with the files in use with CZ plugin 2) to keep the focus on the engine sound👌🏼

The sounds are included already on NGP7. And the replay cam at the beginning is just freecam (F9 when in chase cam) on the replay.

@@plebsimracer2413 well kinda. It's done by changing to chase cam and pressing F9. Then you'll get a free camera you can move around with your mouse. It's good to note that it only works if you've got RX_plugin installed.

@@rushexe1547 I've got no clue on how RBRPro works. You'll need to try to get help within their channels. Also no wonder that Yaris 2017 sound sucks, as there is no official sound for that yet by the FMOD team.
