Grumpy bugger and a bit of a badge snob by the sounds of it. Every other journalist has universally praised the car but this was nothing but moans from beginning to end. I haven't driven the car myself but the value for money can't be denied.

In the uk we get the normal fastback with loads of different engines same as you would with the hatch but we only get the fastback N with no options not even a sunroof but where you get the lux pack, we could do a swap as I’m looking into getting one transported to the uk with the lux pack in shadow grey
@aussiefurbymogwaifan66213 ай бұрын
@LeFanxyy they should call the fastback, just a fastback, drop the i30 name, because what dose this have to do with the i30?? It's like how in Australia, when they changed the "elantra" to the i30 sedan and the fastback is also a sedan. Hyundai just seem to have tooi much of a sentimental attachment to the i30 name. Although I do like the fastback, very 007, although the Ns pops and bangs (known as boy racer attitude to some) don't go with the fastbacks much classier style

Stop telling the manufacturers to make everything bigger and there isn't enough head room in the back. It just confuses the manufacturers, buy a bigger car (Crossover Vehicle) if you want more space. This car is fine the way it is, leave the small and medium small cars alone.
@syd_jzx1005 жыл бұрын
My biggest issue with reviewers! They have this preconceived ideals of what head and leg room should be in the rear of cars. Not every car is as spacious as an SUV, thus why you buy an SUV. He also excessively complains about Road noise in the car, it is jo where near as bad as what he is saying, in fact, it is barely audible at all if you're just talking or have some music on

I recall the early generation Subaru WRX do 0-100km/h in 5.7 seconds and it had 50 kw less power and a significantly less torque than modern 2 litre engines. This show how much weight has penalised performance in the name of safety.
@Banzai835 жыл бұрын
Source!!! Or 4WD.
@zhen31424 жыл бұрын
earlier gen WRX has the all wheel drive advantage and also it only had 5 gears which means it can reach 100kmph before shifting to third. the i30n and current gen WRX both hit about 97-98 kmph before having to shift to third gear so the 0-100 time suffers a bit. if you look at the 0-60mph times it's usually quicker because both cars can reach 60mph before shifting.

Great exterior. I think the hunchback-like slope at the back was engineered for improved headroom for rear passengers. The exterior looks great. A white colour with red accents hear and there with add more sporting allure to this car Sadly the Interior is as bland as it gets, Hyundai could've upgraded the interior look and feel to better match the nice exterior. An option for AWD would be much as appreciated for a small car putting out that much power

Hyundai would probably sell a lot more if they released it as a ‘non-N’ model, considering that they seem to be aiming at a more ‘mature’ market. As a more ‘mature’ person, I would probably find the Fastback appealing. I don’t need the backseat as the kids have well and truly grown up and left home. I just want something with more style than the Hatchback. So how about it Hyundai? I’m probably exactly the person your i30 Fastback is aimed at, just not in N version.
@MC93SE5 жыл бұрын
There are cheaper i30 fastback versions in Europe but they are all produced in the Czech Republic, which makes them more expensive when shipped to Australia. The low AU dollar doesn't hep much either!
@truckerphil3165 жыл бұрын
am really tempted to get one and will agree it will not of reached it's best yet its Hyundai first attempt to do sporty so they will learn as the new I30N's start coming out in 2020 you will find a lot of the thing's that are wrong would of been fixed Hope

Do you think that the Fastback is a "thinking person's car" (or snobby) whilst the country or average sedan owner might go for Elantra or Elantra Sport. Nevertheless, I prefer hatchback i30's for parking, cooler interior (temperature-wise) & rear head room. Re aerodynamics, you need to cruise at 110k each and every day to have any real effect. Looks are pretty good for the "snobby demographic" but I tend to think they'll be put off by the badge. Sad but true. :-(

A marketing exercise. Do hope the aircon/climate control has been upgraded 'cos I had a similar coupe yonks ago & it's 'glasshouse window' (also sans rear wiper) was a bit more aerodynamic but my coupe attracted solar, but had trailing opening side tear drop on either side. And yeah. It needs the auto, preferrably the DCT.. This is Australia Hy....i & heat is the default 'enemy'.
