how do you adjust the handbrake on the 2017 same as yours no rubber grommet to adjust i assume thats for shoes but the one under glove box hasnt helped much with new brake pads in rear

If it doesn’t have shoes then to improve the handbrake, under the centre console where the handbrake lever is you will find a 10/11mm nut on the cables which you can tighten

thanks done now i adjusted but was not as it was before brake pad change i guess it will need to bed in first@@owensautotips

Уши колодок мажутся если нет пластин посадочных,на этих пластинах они должны быть сухими,смазка быстро затвердеет от пыли при износе колодок и они опять начнут клинить,испытывал и со смазкой и без неё,на сухую приходится реже разбирать чистить

I found the problem was the caliper piston was meant to be set at 12 and 6 o'clock so the notch in the piston fits the notch on the pad

If you can't get the pads set correctly using the notches at 12 and 6 a trick is just to grind the notch off the pad, the notch is there to stop the piston turning when you apply the handbrake but in reality they never do this. If you can get better tolerances without the notch then just remove it.

@@owensautotips Been doing it for 40 years never had an issue, sometimes you have to especially with pistons that only have 2 notches at 12 and 6 where a half turn one way or the other is not just right with cars that are difficult to get handbrake adjustment perfect.
