Hyundai i30N-Performance BETTER THAN A GOLF GTI?!

Why wouldn’t you but this over the GTI... forget about the turbo lag, the decades of engineering from VW to make the GTI as boring and conservative as can be...the i30n destroys the GTI in everything 0-60, sound, looks and the feeling of what kickass looks like. VW will always let you down, just a matter of time. I bought a GT N Line and I’ve never lost to a GTI, ever...the N is so much better but in Canada we can only get the veloster n and although I love it, my boys didn’t.

I got one! I got it last year during the whole covid thing, I thought sod it I m going to buy one, you only live once, so I got one of the biggest loans I ve ever had for a car and my God I haven't regreted it! I ve never had a car that gets so many people telling me they love it and thumbs up! It's a BLOODY BRILLIANT machine! WELL DONE HYUNDAI!

The sound is not generated into the cabin. I own an i30N Fastback 2020 and I could tell you that all the sound is real from the exhaust.

Nice video. It is a far more accomplished car than a Golf GTI tbh. Once the badge snobs take off their VW tinted specs, they know this. Even the new Clubsport wouldnt change my mind. On the topic of it being ‘garrish’- Remember the drive modes so you can just stick it in Normal or ECO so it’s more sensible and then flick it into Sport or N mode for some fun. For a first attempt, Hyundai has got so many things right with this car. It’s hardcore if you want it to be but doesn’t look so over the top (like a Type R - which I love btw!) so it’s good as a daily driver. You will NEVER, EVER convince some people that this Hyundai is a good car. That’s just how it is in the petrol head game here, but I’m telling you, after 3 years this car is still constantly turning heads and drawing comments on the road.

Hey congrats! Use N custom mode - max out everything besides suspension. Normal damping will do it all even on the track

@@fhcuentb totally agree.... My setup is n custom. Max everything apart from suspension. I love my fastback n. Best car iv ever had. A tad expensive on fuel but worth every penny

Put the car in n custom mode and just put the suspension in normal setting then you can hyoon around all day m8, the car drives perfect for any b road. I myself have a fastback n performance and more civilised than the fk2 I had previously. Yes i would buy this over a golf any day. The i30 n is a driver focused track car if needed, a golf gti is a badge snobs car who knows nothing about cars🤘

Fair enough, I think I’m more of a fan of the fastback tbh. That linger chassis will help on b-roads tbf. Think your being a bit tight on the GTI 😂, there top cars 🤌

That was a mistake about the sound. It's the native sound there is no artifically generated sound there. They play with valves in the exhaustion system thats all. The pops and bangs come from the exhaustion valve of the engine, they let it be open a little more than would be necessary, so the explosion goes out a little. It's still native sound. Of course it's for the show and circus, no need to do that not at all. But this is a hooligan car anyway.

for me i still prefer the golf gti, if money is no issue and want the extra power id go for the golf R .

would take it over a base manual gti, not over a dsg one like the tcr. Don't discount on Leon cupra there are like the good middle point, not as childish as the N but power boost over gti.

After 1 year of ownership cant really recommend. Some have it good but some have it bad and they will leave you with your problems if it's something that is costly to repair for warranty. Just pray you won't get bad apple.
