Golf R manual doesn't have farts either. It's the DSG who make the farts due to the upshifting and keeping the turbo spooling and injecting fuel. So a DCT i30n would probably fart as well....

@@danebates9977 what's poor mpg to you? If your looking at the i30n or something similar, in and around 30 mpg is where you are at, ofcourse it's driver dependant on what you achieve. Personally I would get on average 28mpg with daily driving, urban and motorway. I did have quite a few modifications done which may have affected that, but I also wasn't driving in eco mode everyday. Too me it wasn't bad on fuel especially for the performance and fun you get with it

even the stock clutch is a nightmare in traffic or at slow speed. if you are going to buy one of these the first thing i recommend you do is get some better tyres as the stock ones do not get the power down effectively. i recommend so michelin PS4s tyres

As an Proud owner of a i30N its nice to see full tune ups of the Variants They are very modification friendly brand Hyundai encourages to improve the driving experience with the modification design the i30N can have. Unlike Ferrari that the second you install something Non-Ferrari in your Ferrari makes them Sue you for going against the Brand.

Still got the axle tramping even with all the mods which is understandable with the power. I’d say the mid range is where it’s at, having to short shift all the time would get tiresome. Also like the original owners pointed out you’d think Blakedown would put matching Pilot 4S’s on instead of budgets on the right hand side.

if the car doesnt scare, then its not fast. if you can put your foot down flat in 3rd gear, then the motor is not powerful. if your car scares you and you afraid to floor it, then its correct !

are the tires same size front and rear ? here in oz a test and build i30 for the road and track they had to stagger them to fit dropped the rears from 19x9 to 19x8.5 front kept 9's , it may have been due to camber they wanted to run

I have had mine for 3 years now 72k km and no issues. Regular trips to the nurburgring and it is driven hard on a regular basis. The car is stock except for upgraded brake pads and disks.

I had 1 for a year, in that time my car had horrible oil consumption and had warranty repairs on the steering rack as there is a technical bulletin on the rack creaking as you steer, getting this replaced took over a month.

Hyundai used to be pretty bad, but they have really changed over the last 10 years. In fact, Hyundai and Kia regularly rank among the most reliable makers these days. They've come a long way IMO.

Just a shame they don’t hold there value and we’re a bit dated inside, 2 years ago I went and looked at one and it felt cheap...... I increased my budget and looked at the Golf TCR as it was around the same power etc.... the TCR was much faster and did not feel cheap.... Ended up with a Golf R just had that edge on the TCR, TCR will probably hold its value tho 😬

Golf R brand new looking at 40k with facelift, buy pre-owned one 2018 one with 20kmiles on for 20k so you lose easy 50percent on the value of the car. The Hyundai for brand new price 28k (facelift due this year that might be more) 2nd hand same mileage looking around same price 20k i can agree with you on the interior but value depreciation is not right. Million golf R’s on the road nowadays.

I’m sorry but you are completely wrong on depreciation. These are just myths that are unfortunately spread by badge snobs without foundation. Real life example. Insurance company paid out £21,000 for a 2018 I30N Performance registered March 2018. That was with 19500 miles and in November 2020. So 2.5 years of ownership. Tell me that isn’t normal or better than normal. Anyway. If you don’t like a car that’s fine but don’t make up rubbish just for the sake of it
