Hyundai Intermitent Stalling

2013 1.6 GDI Hyundai ix35 with an intermittent engine stalling, intermittent no RPM on the dash. Fault confirmed and faulty component confirmed faulty also.

@@GicaPhp we haven’t replaced it yet. I spoke to a mechanic and he said it could be the fuel pump since it’s not throwing a code (no check engine light). I’m going to keep an eye on it.

​@@Rhodyman13I think that's the toughest to diagnose. I have that issue. No lights just will stall out at lights sometimes now. Started happening at the end of the summer. I thought it was a fuel pump going bye-bye.. I wish then I could just take it in and have it diagnosed and replaced lol

@@GicaPhp I have no fault codes (There is no check engine light when it happens) On a completely random basis my car simply struggles start. It just cranks and cranks but won't fire up. Eventually, (at least so far) it will finally start and then it will usually go another week & multiple times where it starts up just fine. And then out of the blue it will happen again, where it struggles to start. And now recently (twice now) it has stalled at stop lights for no reason and struggles to start after. All of this with no check engine light.

@@TheoriginalChuckJ when that happens just see if your rpm gauge goes up to 250rpm when cranking, if it doesn't you need to check your crank sensor. An oscilloscope would be best on both cam and crank sensors

Thanks for your follow up. It is much appreciated. Unfortunately, I never thought to check the RPMs during the difficult starts. I will check from now on if the issue continues. However, earlier today I bit the bullet and had my Cam shaft position sensor replaced. I had to try something. I have started the car twice since then with no problem but I will need several more starts to know if it solved the issue. I will let you know if it does. Thanks again...

@@GicaPhp Well, I had the Cam shaft position sensor replaced last week and I was hoping that this would solve my intermittent difficult starting issue and random stalling issue. But, on my drive home from work today my car stalled again at a red light. And once again it required extra cranking to restart. After it finally started and I continued driving I noticed that my RPM gauge wasn't working at all. It was reading 0 RPM while I continued my drive home.

I was driving my car today going about 40 miles an hour and the car just flat shut down. Couldn’t turn the wheel, breaks were so stiff. Luckily I’m safe. But it wouldn’t start for about 30 mins then started. Got home tried to turn it over and it wouldn’t start. The check engine light oil light steering wheel light with an exclamation mark show up. Have any idea what this may be
