ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Thanks to Alexandre Zenga for pointing out that there is a very small icon on the climate control panel, towards the bottom left, that is for the heated seats and steering control access. It is not the same symbols as in the Ioniq 5 or EV6, so I completely missed it... especially since it is kind of tiny 😎 Thanks again for pointing out the button.

@EV-olution
@EV-olution Жыл бұрын
I agree that it is nice to not see the latches but that is exactly how the Kia EV6 is. You cannot see the latches in the EV6 because they are not on the top of the seats, they are on the side of the bottom portion and are manual adjustment reclining levers like you would find on manually adjustable front seats. You can see what I mean at this point in the video I made last year: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIHZhZqcjN6tqM0

Don't know if anyone corrected you on this, but when you're talking about the lack of button for the heated/ventilated seats/steering wheel, there is actually a button. However it's more of a shortcut button. It's between the temperature up/down and AUTO buttons, on the bottom, under the CLIMATE button or label or whatever that is. But, like I said, it's more of a shortcut button as it just directly opens the touchscreen menu page for the seats/steering wheel.

12:09 interestingly a reviewer in Norway discovered that the battery heater only works if the battery has over 20% charge because it uses battery power. I think that this is 1 of the best EVs. I'm not sure if I prefer this over the EV6, but it's close. Either way, I can't afford to save that much money on gas, so I drive a Niro.

Deliveries at first are always very slow, and yes, they are delivering the Ioniq 6 right now in small quantities. If you consider the Ioniq 5 deliveries, it did not take long for volume to ramp up and here in Québec the Ioniq 5 is seen at every street corner, almost as often as the Tesla Model 3. It will also depend on where you live. Some places receive more than others because of laws on gas cars (2030, 2035 end date), government rebates on EVs, etc.

I’m very surprised that the base is a RWD vehicle…just not doable for winter driving anymore
@michaelcollier8768
@michaelcollier8768 Жыл бұрын
The base will be the cheapest and minus one motor cuts costs. That being said, less is more as the range is the best. Lots of folks have RWD I5's and some have already used RWD I6's in the snow and for 99% of snow driving it's great. That 1% is steep, snowy and icy driveways. If I could get a RWD I would, even here in snowy Canada, but we are only getting AWD it seems for the first year.
@EV-olution
@EV-olution Жыл бұрын
@Jeff Menard RWD in an EV is not like in an ICE. Don't forget that the electric motor is right over the rear wheels, putting all of the weight where it needs to be. Add the fact that the traction control of an EV is insane, it is much better than you would think. For those who can't afford the AWD, the RWD offers much more range, and still offers a good driving experience. Obviously AWD is better, but it comes at a cost of both money and range.
@michaelcollier8768
@michaelcollier8768 Жыл бұрын
@@EV-olution Good points! Some folks like the handling characteristics of the RWD better than the AWD. Again, I would go for the RWD first here in snowy Canada but there aren't any or many coming in. My son picked up the AWD 18" and it's super nice. The range in our mountain, twisty driving is easy 300 plus miles. I wonder what the RWD would do.

Actually the rebates are applicable on all trim versions, including the Ultimate, because the Preferred AWD is within the rebate price requirements and the Ultimate package is not a new model, it is just an option package. Just like with my EV6, on which I received both rebates, because even though it is a GT-Line Pack 2 at 64,000$ CDN, the model is the AWD EV6 at 55K, where the GT-Line packs are only options.

I did not put the tire mobility kit in the frunk because it was in the trunk when I got the car from Hyundai and when I pulled it out the first time, it pulled the carpet out with it. I point out things that are facts, and in the video I also said that it is not a big deal. As for comparing the Ioniq 6 to the EV6, you were warned in the first 15 seconds of the video that I would be making the comparison. That is part of how I make my videos, just like I had done with my Niro EV before, because lots of people have no idea of relative size of the car being reviewed, and I get asked to give my opinion in comparison to the car I own. I do it in all of my review videos, that's what my channel does. The nice thing is that if you don't like it you can simply skip the section completely because I made some nice little chapters right in the timeline for you to be able to jump to whereever you please. I …. I thought EVs were supposed to be efficient and economical? According my my math this is neither.
@EV-olution
@EV-olution Жыл бұрын
The Ioniq 6 is one of the most efficient EVs on the market, only slightly trailing the very expensive Lucid Air for drag coefficient, and has been touted as one of the most efficient EVs in the market. So yes, it is extremely efficient. Reference: electrek.co/2022/10/05/hyundai-ioniq-6-most-aerodynamic-and-energy-efficient-evs-in-industry/ Regarding it being economical, that will depend on the price of the electricity in your region, but in every scientific study ever published it is far less expensive to run an EV than an equivalent gas powered car. Here in Québec the Ioniq 6 costs 7$ to fill from 0 to 100% when charged at a home charging station, as compared to an equivalent gas car that would cost 70$ to 90$ to fill with gas. So based on my math, that is very economical.
