Its good to see the procedure in action, but I read in the FSM that, instead of messing with the inspection plug, you jack up the car, drain the trans and then fill it up with 5 quarts of ATF, though I would probably be inclined to just measure what came out and replace that amount. Lifting the car would make sense since the drain is towards to back of the trans casing

You missed the most important part of the entire process: Opening the level plug AFTER warming up the motor and shifting the gears. This is spelled out in the factory manual.

Not bad video but the engine should be running at temperature operating temperature when you check the fluid flow rate exiting the leveler and you must be running not off and it must be at temperature and it should slow to a thin stream then you cap it

As he said, check the type fluid for your car. In 2013 Hyundai appears to have changed to fully synthetic fluid. Dexron VI for example. You can probably go more miles with the synthetic but it's still worth changing. Great video to show how to do it tho!

Just changed my fluid, reaching out for a little help. it drained 4 qt. but only took 3 when it started pouring out the level hole. i let it drain for 1/2 hr. now I'm thinking i drained some of the converter. its shifting fine would rather have it under then over filled. don't want to just drop in another qt. the biggest pain in the ass was taking to bottom shrouds off again. any thoughts?

If you took 4 out i'd put 4 back in, a little overfill by a qt. won't damage tranny, a lot more will will just blow out vent on ground and make a mess.

@@goaheadmakeourdayscooterpe9644 lol thanks appreciate it. Yup that's what I did made perfect sense. Guess it probably drained the torque converter. Next time I'm going to run it through the gears while I have it on stands then see if I can add more. 1 down and 2 to go.

Hello, very good video. I have a question for you, you know if the transfer of hyundai 2001 is equal to 2003? I have the faulty tranfer Hyundai Santa Fe 2003, a person sells a 2001 transfer, but the mechanic tells me that possibly the gear teeth do not correspond, ie, the gears are not equal.

If you have an automatic transmission yes, but you need to take out the carter to change the filter, so it’s a bit harder to do that process, also you may need to replace the gasket

According to the service manual, you are to have it running in neutral and up to operating temp before doing the level check. Then having it RUNNING in neutral, THEN check the level. You're doing it wrong!

Good job in showing us how. But stop calling it "oil". Its a fluid. Transmission fluid. Thanks! Also point out to make sure you car is level (somewhat) so your transmission fluid leveling hole won't drain too much or too little.

Transmission fluid is based on petrol as transmission/gear/engine oil.
