I thought my blower motor was going bad until I saw this video. Yup. It was the resistor. Darned thing costs nearly the same as a blower motor but it was an easy DIY job.

Can confirm this is how you also replace the blower motor and resistor on the 2006-11 Hyundai Azera as well, they’re different parts but same locations and replacement instructions

plug them both back in when their out and bang blower motor see if it starts

Nope. I pulled my blower and tested it by connecting it to the battery. It worked fine, so I only replaced the resistor.

I suggest plugging them both back up while out , blow some wd 40 in to bottom hole on blower and bang it see if it starts

Mine just went out I'm up in the mountains freezing. I figure its my blower motor cause doesnt work but makes a slight hum like it's trying to work so it's most likely getting power, But best thing to do is check fuzes first then go from there.

@@libtard.4844 I changed out the blower relay due to clicking noise. Only goes away when I turn the selector knob for defrost/various vent positions, so next option is the switch. Luckily the salvage yard has a couple of these cars, so I can test things out pretty cheaply.

@@candlestickmaker1000 hopefully you get it fixed I just got back and got mine fixed pulled out the blower motor and a big dead rodent fell out ended up burning both my motor and fuze out.

@@edllewellyn22 Thanks for the suggestion. I changed out the control unit (knobs) and it hasn't given me trouble since. Twenty bucks at the salvage yard.

That looked simple enough :-D im not a lover of cross headed screws, a simple hex head would be nicer with a flexable nut driver. Or just use two barbed squeeze clips. i also liked the wingnut nuts, no tool required, but they seem to have vanished over the years, shame as they were a good idea.

Why do you have to disconnect the black battery cable if the car is off?

The repair manuals always state to disconnect the battery when working on electrical parts.

I have replaced both Blower Motor & Resistor before the replcement fan was working off and on, was checking fan plug and with it switched on I am not getting any power to the connector any suggestions what it might be?

I have a 2005 LX v6 looks nothing like this - not the same glove removal and transistor/resistor location- I have automatic air - I can't find the location of it and I spent over an hour- taking it to the dealer
