Whenever i asked a shop to help me with this issue, they said they needed some special tool they didnt have. So its nice to see thats not the case, although this process still seems a bit intimidating to do on my own.

@@fixinit But in both cases they refused to work on that issue. I brought up your video to one, and he said he looks up the problem somewhere (I don't know if it's some auto mechanic software or what) and it tells him the tools he needs and how to do it.

Hey brother, thank you very much for the video. I managed to remove the old part and replace it with the new coupler. Problem is, now I have an EPS sign which is to do with power steering and also my Steering wheel is super tight. I can’t really turn the wheel too much. Any advice? Thanks

Check all your connections. Sounds like something is not plugged in. If everything looks ok, check your fuses.

@@fixinit Hey brotha, so I brought my Hyundai Sonata to the dealership for diagnostics regarding the stiffness of the steering wheel and the EPS light. Is it normal that they are tell me to change my entire steering column? They apparently don’t do used parts anymore because of the number of problems it brings. FYI, I never had any issues prior to this little noise. I just can’t believe that they’re telling me to replace the entire column. Any advice or suggestion would help. Thank you for your time.

Your steering wheel was "super tight" because your power steering was deactivated per the dash warning light. Here are the final steps for the steering coupler replacement according to Hyundai's Service Bulletin (17-ST-001) : 14. Reinstall the removed parts in reverse order. 15. Verify operation of all steering wheel buttons, dash buttons, and multi-function switch. 16. Conduct the ASP (Absolute Steering Position) calibration procedure according to the applicable service manual. 17. Check and clear any DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) using the GDS and confirm proper operation of the vehicle So, for yours and many of these replacement jobs the ASP calibration procedure (above) is required along with clearing the error codes.

That sounds more like tires, suspension or alignment issue.

You can but steering will become more difficult over time and it may bind or damage the electric motor.
