I think this transmission has best of both worlds. You have convenience of automatic as you no longer have to press the clutch , as well as thrill of manual transmission as you can run the car in the gear you desire. Probably more car manufacturers will follow suit. Definately better than AMT which seems to be a half baked solution. Good job sir👍

Imt will be the future. Clutch life will increase and also tension less driving especially in hilly areas. But to decide how reliable is automatic clutch we have to wait for at least another two years to get feedback.

It is advisable to go for DCT and DSG transmissions if driving pleasure is your preference though they require an additional hefty amount. I have driven all AMT IVT CVT DSG and DCT.. Best one is DSG and DCT second

It was very helpful review! Thank you. One important point to be noted here is that hill assist control safety feature is must if we are driving DCT/iMT to avoid roll back while driving in inclined (hilly) area. HAC feature is available only in top variant sx(0). Which costs way too high! Driving iMT without HAC feature could be a major safety issue! In manual transmission (with clutch) we mitigate this problem with half-clutch drive.

BRUH if you use your clutch to keep the car stationary on an incline then you'll be changing your clutch very often. Besides if you're on a hill then you can just hold the brake, you don't need the transmission to do everything for you.

Can you please test it in hilly areas . Consider changing from low to high during climbing on hill .. whether it will warn / not allow to change and remain in low gear or knock and shut down ?

Like many people I also have the habit of keeping my left hand continuously on the gear lever. So that means the clutch in IMT will also remain engaged because of this habit and damage it ?? Am I correct or the clutch is engaged only when it senses a gear change movement in which case just keeping your hand on the lever will not engage the clutch
