Hyve Minds If my only take away from KH3 was the way they handled Toy Story. It was a missed opportunity what they could have done with it! We could have seen Sid,Stinky Pete and Lotso in three parts, but they don’t do it! They don’t even do the story right! The whole point of these games is to explore through the Disney movies with the characters! In Toy Story they just make a story up,make it similar to Toy Story 2 and then it ends! The gameplay wasn’t even that great in that world ,because the second half of it they force you into toy tank that you’ll be in the rest of the level! A great story between Buzz and Woody and the other two movies and they just ignore it what a shame! I might be missing something,I was just so disappointed in the world I had no desire to go back to it.☹️

1. Really enjoy that Sonic Colors and Unleashed soundtrack is in the background 2. The Ultima Keyblade could have change your gameplay at least 35% of the gameplay 3. Does not matter how you play, everybody plays differently. People have ways to play the game either with less skill or super worthy skill but why complain about something that exist in the game for you to utilize. I enjoyed KH3 for what it is even with flaws. This is your review, showing why you didn't like it. I just can't stand the people who say they are "true" KH fans, I was in a livestream of a channel called "Kingdom Ace" and they're talking about KH future, then I thought it was a good a idea to leave my opinion and discuss about the game, as soon as I started to say the issues I have with the game, like the combat system, rushed story telling near the end and other things (that's all my opinions, don't start arguing at the comments guys) the only response that they give me was "Oh you don't understand what KH means", "You're not a real fan, the game is just fine, you're just dumb to not get the story", and some more nonsense like that. I already playing KH games for a long time, and I always searching for information about the game, like mechanics, lore, hidden things, etc, just to a "true" fan say that I'm not capable of understand the story because I'm a "hater", so, what I have to say (like I haven't said enough) is, don't be a d***, if you liked the game, good, keep playing it, but if the majority of people are complaining about some game mechanics, there's gotta be something wrong, there's no need to be such a fanboy.

@@roiitzkovich4545 I wasn't talking about the game itself, I was talking about some mechanics of the games, like the Attraction Flows or other stuff that the majority disliked, like the fact that the story don't progress to a climax, instead it just jump right into it. And I saw a lot of people proclaim about this, and I don't count just people who are fans of KH, but people in general (but yes, it is a game with mixed opinions, who tend to be a lot more good than bad ones), from a technical point of view (my technical point of view 🤣), the game isn't so good like others of the series in some ways, and it's better in others, but for ME, it's worse because I was really expecting something more "well done" after all this time of waiting. Whatever guys, like I said, this is my point of view, if you guys like it, I'm happy for you guys, but I expected way more...
@roiitzkovich45455 жыл бұрын
@@Xehanort.i There are reasons as to why the game jumped right into the climax, those being that there was no place for a middle point (I hear suggestion like saving Aqua after Monstropolis but people don't see the consequences) and that there are no 2nd visits to each world so the game ain't as repetitive as KH2, BBS and DDD. Attractions and flowty combat are the only mechanics that get critisized by people (other mechanics are personal preferences). Attraction, as was said in this video, can be canceled. Flowty combat isn't such an issue because in KH3 you are completely capable in mid-air so unlike BBS and DDD you aren't punished for it (go check a video called "defeating Dark Inferno in mid-air" to see that flowty combat isn't an issue in KH3).

The way to go is the improvement of enemy design, but devs are scared to ramp it up, because KH3 feels like it was aimed to be the most family friendly entry in the series. @BlueLightningSky5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely not. They're glorified QTEs that the KH community pretends has depth. And it also shows a misunderstanding of why the bosses in 2 were better. 2's bosses had mechanics. Yes they were annoying and people bitched about it but that's why they're harder. I'm not talking about the reaction command minigames those are not mechanics. Zexion trapped your team mates. Vexen summons anti Sora. Marluxia places a curse. LW locks commands. Yes some of these were frustrating but that's what made it hard and fun. A lot of KH3 fights are defend and attack and KH is not as fast as other games to get away with this. Most bosses are too fair for their own good.

Crit is like a amplifier, it makes the end game boss fights more fun While making existing issue even worse. Camera am I right fellas? That frozen sled contributed to like 90% of my total deaths. What KH3 lacks is uniqueness. The only uniqueness for KH3 is the number of times you should be timing your blocks and retaliate and that's it I however find it like fun to fight monster inc final bosses and xehanort bosses with precise counter, which is not only counter shield. (Just my opinion) in KH2 almost every enemies gets a unique interaction and you will have a fresh experience for every fight so you never felt bored

I never really had a problem with the camera and the enemies seemed pretty unique to me I'd wish they add more stuff though to make the gameplay more unique.
@TheDbzthedgehog5 жыл бұрын
It's quite literally the same for KH3 the only difference is your unique interaction isn't limited to the enemies you fight, instead you carry it with you in the form of your Keyblades (Transformations), the teammates you use (Team attacks), the magic you use (Grand magic), and the world's you visit (Attractions). It's ironically less limiting but people think that KH2's is where it isn't as limiting.
@sonnychan55265 жыл бұрын
The camera issue persists when the enemies are off camera, I remember I just need to lock on to turn the camera, unlike KH3 where I need to pan the camera just to lock on About the limiting thing, sure in KH2 sometimes you need to use reaction to proceed or get you butt handed to them whereas KH3 you don't have to But most of the reaction commands are very unique and that's what makes a memorable/impressive fight and this shows how much effort and love they put into those. I'm alright with KH3 and generally satisfied with it, I just don't find most of the fights memorable. Oh wait I remember I love fighting skoll because it's the most unique boss fight and that resembles reaction command the most
@TheDbzthedgehog5 жыл бұрын

Pretty insidious that this game was Nomura just planning for the future series instead of making this one feel as climactic and great as possible... That's like game design planning 101...
@ArtumTsumia4 жыл бұрын
Pretty much this. After playing through the game originally on the hardest difficulty available, I didn't have much faith that Critical Mode would put enough effort into balance to make it an upgrade. Quite simply, the various mechanics don't play into each other enough to make the combat all that fun. In the first game, you had to engage in combat to recharge your mana. Cure was kind of OP, but the MP system kept you more engaged. The second game 'nerfed' cure by making it cost all you mana, but mana now had a recharge timer that didn't exactly encourage you to jump back into combat. Still, there were enough utility spells that you absolutely didn't want to be casting cure, you wanted things like reflect. _KH3_ carried over the core idea of magic from _KH2_ but cranked up AOE spell damage and gutted the idea of utility spells. The result was just spamming your best AOE spell to take out most enemies and then just finishing off the last one with your keyblade. Reducing MP for Critical Mode doesn't really address this problem, in fact it kind of makes things worse by reducing the amount of damage Sora does, reducing the number of effective combat options. Link and Shotlock spam pretty much become the only guaranteed systems, since most of the other big abilities are inconsistent and the large numbers of enemies tends to get you killed quick if you aren't thinning them out almost immediately.

Once again: When a game that needs its mechanics tweaked to become more solid gameplay wise makes a harder difficulty and does not do any patching; this makes the said game flaws more blatant and intolerable. I cannot agree with you enough on your many points in this game from Sora’s blocking working when it wants to( plus not cancelling combos when block is pressed), to fights become less engaging because fights take longer and with things being able to one shot you makes this even more of a chore. Funny how I’m actually stuck on the downhill sled in Frozen at the time of this comment. I love the KH series and even 3 but just because I love doesn’t mean I’m going to ignore the obvious flaws it has which many were stated in this video. Good watch!

I think what made me lose love for KH3 were the boss fights. They weren't very challenging or very interesting. And some of the bosses seemed so random and had very little to do with the story. Like Hans turning into Garurumon for some reason. Also was anyone else dissappinted you didnt get to smack randel with the key blade? It think it would have been a cool boss fight to have an invisible randel out in the freight yard surrounded by oil drums and Boo stuck in a safety net above you. You could spill the oil on the ground to track randels foot steps, cover him with oil and use fire! But if the fire grows too hot, you risk the net burning and Boo falling into Randels clutches. So you have to put out the fire with water, which also washes away the oil, thus making it harder to track randels movements. And the whole time randel is trying to climb up to the net and abduct Boo. Maybe he uses fire attacks so the net will catch fire. Instead we got some crappy heartless.

Not to mention unlike two, just because your attack animation is slow it doesn't make you helpless as you can cancel your attack animation into a block immediately, whereas you need to wait until the animation is over in it's entirety to do anything else like block in KH2. >All random commands They aren't all random though Team attacks, yes, atm it's entirely unclear how those proc, however Attractions are obtained from attacking certain enemies, Grand Magic is proced by building meter, and the same is true for the Keyblade Transformations. All the others are cinematic, and with this and the team attacks they're on par with KH2's brainless "hit triangle to win" commands that pop up after fighting certain enemies are on the field. 90% of them required no thought or effort and we're just a flashy attack you'd do to gain an advantage, how is that any different from this? What's even better is you can have more than one triangle command set instead of doing on accidentally because they're all mapped to one button clumsily in KH2 ala the auto limits, auto summons, etc, etc. It's clear that the Osaka team isn't the best but they're actually taking steps to improve the formula with this title in particular. Excellent video! I completely agree with most of what you said here. It's not the job of the player to balance a game. It's the Developer's.
@roiitzkovich45455 жыл бұрын
Than please read that: 1. Team attacks might be randomal but the thing is that even Bayonetta had these demon punches coming randomly for extra damage and Xenoblade games have auto-attacks once in a while. Random attacks are fine as long as they have no forced use in gameplay or they have no reason to exist. Team attacks with Donald and Goofy don't completely turn the tide of the fight, and so were MOST limits in 2 (and I'll talk about these exceptions later). Sure, there are these sand pillars and Lump of Horror, which Goofy Bombardier eases, but if you could access it at any moment (even with some sort of cost) it would turn them from a threat to a joke. The developers could've completely take the option to 1-shot these guys with Goofy Bombardier and you wouldn't have complained as much. 2. I agree that summons are spammable and OP. What he forgot to mention in his review makes it clear he isn't a speedrunner, because in KH2 you spam OP limits (and here I'm coming back to these). Donald's limits, Trinity limit and Jack Skellington's limit are KH2's speedrunning tools. Like how you can nearly 1-shot Grim Guardiness with Ralph, you can do the same with Trinily limit to the Hydra and a lot of mob fights in KH2 (and if you casted magnet on enemies while using Trinily than Mobs will die even faster). All ORG13 members in KH2 (story related) die thanks to Donald's limits because someone who made that game was stupid enough to give Sora a complete freedom with movement when using them, unlike other limits, which force to certain attacks until the limit ends. That basically means "use a lot of ethers to get a shit-ton of I-frames and combo the boss for eternity, while Donald messes enemies's Revange Value so you can repeat the process until the boss dies". Watch a speedrunner fight Demyx, Xaldin and Xigbar and you'll see nothing but Donald's limit spam (you can do it with Siax as well but he has a stupider trick to kill with Peter Pan). Against Roxas, Luxord and Xemnas you have the Limit Form>Ars Arcanum>Zentetsuken trick, which can be considered limit spam as well. 3. In critical mode, filling the arrows takes more hits, hence why not every finisher will add an arrow. Each arrow has an appearence quota (meaning you need to hit enemies a certain amount for the arrow to appear) and a finisher doesn't have to be the attack which fulfills that quota. If I want to hit the enemy wirh just regular combo attacks without finishers I'll still make these arrows appear. 4. Minigames aren't your type. Fine! I can't tell you to like the snowboarding part if you don't. But I want to hear about your feelings about the Light Cycle in Space Paranoids (AKA a blander and less skill needed version of the snowboarding). Also, when he said that the dancing minigame in Corona is boring but just ignored Atlantica in KH2 instead of critisizing it as well proves he is biased towards KH2. 5. So sometimes guard doesn't work... SO????? Don't get me wrong, I want it to be fixed so this glitch will never happen, but it isn't a complete 50-50 case where every guard can be risky. Across my 6 playthroughs of KH3 I've had only 1 guard not working. Again, I'm not defending such thing, but I'm not saying that it's a game ruiner either. Same goes for the camera, which people say it runs away from you sometimes. People forgot that in KH3 you can lock-on to enemies from a longer distance than past games and the camera issues only occur when the distance between you and the enemy is very long (and even that mostly applies to the big enemies like the titans and Grim Guardiness). You could say that against Davy Jones and Armored Xehanort the camera issue may happen as well, but than again, it only happens in lager distances, and these enemies specifically love to teleport. In KH2, when an enemy teleports the lock-on is canceled, while in KH3 is stays activated, so nothing stops you from canceling the lock-on yourself when an enemy teleports. 6. I could make an entirely seperate comment on why large mob fights are some of KH3's best design choises, but to spare you the sin. This guy clearly just copies what Bl00dybizkit said about KH3 and I'll just say that despite being a speedrunner, Bl00dybizkit does not completely understand what he is talking about and the fact he adapts his issues with the game to his list is depressing. Also, yes, if Game Freak will give me a Mewtwo at the start of pokemon SWSH I'll just won't use it as I can pretend it doesn't exist and play the game regularly. You may say that I'm cheating on the game by doing that, but if I can make the game more fun for myself I'll still enjoy it regardless. I shouldn't be forbidden from searching for an enjoyment just because the developers did 1 or 2 mistakes, like how I'm not spamming summons in FF6 to not make it a complete mind-numbing experience. It's cheating, but I don't care as long as I enjoy what I'm playing. Isn't that what game should be? FUN?
@roiitzkovich45455 жыл бұрын
@AinnMS No, fun means ENJOYABLE! Unbalanced and unfunctional are 2 different things. Unfunctional means bug/glitches (broken mechanics in the game you can't ignore like controls), while unbalanced means a design choise that fails but is also ignorable to the point you forget they even exist.
@roiitzkovich45455 жыл бұрын
@AinnMS Your example is for unfunctional. If in pokemon SWSH I'll have a Mewtwo at the start than I'll catch another pokemon, which fits the level of a starter, and than release the Mewtwo. I do the same in the gen 6/7 games by de-activating the broken EXP share because these games are super easy with it turned on. Hell, even in KH3 you can cancel the attractions, yet no one complains that "if I have to cancel a game mechanic to make it better than it's a bad game design". Don't get me wrong, I DO want SE to nurf links, but it's not as if the entire game is ruined because they're OP.
@roiitzkovich45455 жыл бұрын
@AinnMS Still, if I can find an enjoyment in a game, even if it means ingoring a mechanic or two, than I'll do it. I know MGS5 is a super repetitive game, but if you can look past that than Snake is the best in the series, but MGS5 has "reflex mode", which is almost "the game plays itself" mode, and you can turn it off, and yet no one complains about it. Another example is Mario Odyssey with it's "pay 50 coins to find a moon" mechanic, which can make the game into "ground pound-the game". It ruins the idea of what is a collect-a-thon, and yet no one complains about it and just ignore it to make it an authentic Mario platformet ala Mario 64. Developers do mistakes here and there, but if these mistakes can be over-looked than they aren't gsme ruiners. If links/attractions were FORCED to use in KH3 than it would've been a problem, but they aren't (except for the 10K heartless fight but that was just for show). If I can cancel/ignore them and play the game normally than it's almost as if these mistakes don't exist. If he gets snipped from behind (and doesn't try to find a strategy to win) than he can buy the kupo coin to have a better chance, much like in Sekiro, where many enemies do make any sound when attacking and can kill you from behind.

the worst part of critical mode is that it unfairly halves your HP and MP when there are ways to increase the difficulty without nerfing the player's stats, they could have just given the enemies extremely high crit rates and damage and it wouldn't matter how much HP you had, also halving our damage is just downright idiotic of them, in the critical mode of previous games both the player AND enemies took more damage so it is unfair that this is the only game where we do LESS damage on critical, not to mention I never really used links because they didn't seem to be worth the FULL MP bar with their wonky attacks and I-Frames

I was kind of let down by the difficulty of base Kingdom Hearts 3, so I waited for Critical Mode to be released since Critical Mode was my favorite option in KH2FM. For some reason or another, I had no idea going into Critical Mode that your base damage output was halved in addition to taking double damage. That put a serious damper on my experience with the game, and I haven't seriously gone back to it since Critical Mode dropped. Reflect is a tool, it's not a win button. Reflect rewards skill, it is a way for you to see an enemy attack incoming, and able to efficiently block it, and continue your combo, in order to do that you need to pay attention, notice patterns, actually learn the game. There is no planning to any commands in KH3, because you will have them back up in a minute anyways, so why not just spam everything, you don't need to notice patterns, you don't need to notice subtle animation changes, because commands are abundant. Great video dude! Sorry you have to deal with extremists that can't deal with any criticism for KH3. But unfortunately that's what happens when anyone brings up issues they had with KH3, people lose their minds and respond like crybabies. But with that said the stuff you discussed about the base combos is spot on. Another thing that really hurts is that there really aren't combo modifiers that will make Sora's combo significantly different based on where enemies are. Sure there's different finishers you can equip, but they do not play the role that combo abilities in BASE KH2 or even Base Kh1 did (Never got to play KH1FM myself though they have extra abilities like sliding dash), where based on the distance/or angle from an enemy Sora has a different attack and ability in the combo for that situation. Combos are pretty much the same no matter what other than the few things you can trigger yourself such as that ability in KH3 to launch in the air. But again a crucial element of the base combos that makes them viable is missing simply because the combos are the same regardless of where enemies are. So instead of Sora doing a strike that would hit 3 enemies at the same time that happen to be gathered in front of him, it only hits one and it is the same situationally as if you were only fighting that 1 enemy at the time. Pair this with the system making it possible for those other 2 enemies to hit you out of the combo without a parry happening and you have a disaster. In both BASE KH2 and even BASE KH1 there were attacks in combos that helped ward off multiple enemies if their distance from you triggered it. It helped make those base combos more fluid. In KH3 the base combo system is not designed as if you'd be hitting more than 1 enemy nor can it really change based on situations during combat that often change. This was very bad considering the game has so many enemies given an encounter and they're rapidly moving everywhere. Osaka team focused all the different combo design in formchanges and didn't bother making sure that there was any utility in the base combos. Some formchanges have different attacks based on where you are like Kingdom of Corona keyblade formchange that will shoot blasts at a distance and then have a different melee combo if you are up close to an enemy. But again this isn't the case with the base combos. Osaka team does not understand how to make a good combo.

Because that's the inherent point of the system they created, they actively want you to get out of your base Keyblade strings and get into form changes. They're quite literally used as a primer to get going. You have the utmost amount of utility on your plate when you get them going but you still need to work for them in the grand scheme of things otherwise it becomes a debate about MuH BaLaNcE and OvErPoWeReD SoRa, and that's without locking them behind a crummy drive bar that'll screw you over with it's Anti Form RNG
@litafbobpompeani77115 жыл бұрын
@@TheDbzthedgehog I gotta respectfully disagree. Basically you're arguing that the Osaka team making the base combos suck on purpose is okay because the formchanges are what they really want people in. That truly isn't a good excuse. 1. In order to get to the formchanges as the situation commands you still have to attack with the base combos, meaning these problems will matter to you regardless. By your own admission you are still forced to use combos that are not situational and will almost certainly get you killed for using them when dealing with the majority of encounters (which are mobs the base combos suck against). So there really wasn't a valid reason for Osaka to approach the base combo as an afterthought or purposely not make situational base combos akin to what KH1 & Kh2 had. In fact it was lazy for the Osaka team to tackle base combos as if this were a handheld title that had limitations that may have made implementing situational combos less possible than it was on the ps2. But KH3 is a ps4/Xbox one game. They have no such excuse. This is especially true considering the fact that they had more potential to program deeper situational mechanics with the basic combos than both KH1 & KH2 **COMBINED** just due to how much more powerful the current gen consoles are compared to the ps2. But the Osaka team didn't put in that effort. 2. Most Formchanges do not have different combos based on distance or situational differences to the same extent either. Again there are exceptions to this. Some form changes shoot when you are further from enemies like the Kingdom of Corona Keyblade or can swing you to enemies like the Monster Inc keyblade formchange but even then when it starts melee combos those melee combos do not necessarily change due to how many enemies are around you or where the enemy is in relation to you (for the most part at least). Thing is that isn't truly a problem in itself as for example even some of the drives in KH2 had basically the same moves like take wisdom form (well because obviously it is the same shooting combo unless you add magic as a finisher.) But when it comes to drives like Valor form it still has different situational attacks based on how far you are from enemies and also finishers depending on how many enemies are around you. You can even look at the combo abilities in the driveform in the menu to see how they have situational action abilities. But having a combo system that works more fluidly by allowing the combo to change based on distance and how many enemies are around you is still a crucial part to making the combos good. With the formchanges they are better than the base combos of course but even still they suffer from faults of this system as well. 3. Basically forcing you into formchanges is yet another thing that reduces player agency. There are still people that would prefer to play the game with in-depth situational base combos. Heck, some people that played KH1 & KH2 only ever used combos in them (well besides cure of course lmao). Even though yeah that seems crazy and is of course not the recommended way to play the games, it is still viable because of what those combos had with the situational abilities. It's almost like Osaka team was afraid that there would be a lot of people that didn't use anything else other than combos so they flooded the battle mechanics to make sure the average player was guaranteed to see the flashy stuff. Now even though we are talking about critical a difficulty which would obviously make it more important to take advantage of the entirety your tools, this still applies. Now again I didn't play the final mix version of KH1 so I can't really speak on that, but with critical in KH2FM winning with combos alone is still viable. Crazy to not use any magic, limits, drives when you can, but if you truly want to only use combos (and of course the necessary reaction commands) you can. But the point is it is still player choice. With KH3 you can choose to not use formchanges if you really want to but the point is the base combos simply not being that great and pretty much the same no matter what leave a lot less options in player choice by simply not making them fun to use. As for the drive gauge in KH2 it did make it so it took longer to get use the driveforms and you ended up using them less because of not having the necessary gauge level. But in a way that's part of what made them a bit more special due to that fact that you couldn't use them all the time (at least at first when it's difficult to get the gauge up). Being able to see them less made them more interesting. In KH3 some of the formchanges are cool, my personal favorite is Port Royal keyblade 1st transformation. But when you them over and over again in very short duration it's less of an "Oh snap moment" and just something you take for granted. But you're right about antiform fuck that shit lmao.

@@litafbobpompeani7711 I personally think you're overblowing how bad the base combat is. It isn't the idea that it sucks or is limited, it gets the job done until you get into your formchanges, which is the real meat and depth of the combat system. Thinking of it as it's own segmented thing isn't the key here, they play hand to hand with the base combat as an extension. It's not the same as BBS or DDD's actually limited combat system, where they only give you combo plus to extend it. You have an aerial repositioner, an anti-aerial repositioner, 4 finishers, excluding that of the form changes, and you still have far more defensive capabilities than base Sora in KH2 has plus shotlock, airstep, and flowmotion attacks. The idea that it gives less player agency is false as well since you're actively working to build up the form you want. Not only that but I'm a bit baffled at how the sole absence of position based attacks are an egregious offense here, even when you have a plethora of movement options you are directly in control of as Sora, Airstep attacks are far more practical for closing gaps and attacking opponents especially since you have the agency to choose directly what enemy you're homing in on, then you have things like Buzz Saw procing when you airstep and attack near a group of enemies as opposed to one. Personally that was the only flow motion I ever used. Also the exclusivity of the drives don't make them any less practical. You also have a much larger pool of form changes compared to drives so your enthusiasm for them shouldn't be running out that fast unless you're only using one.

I have an idea of having gameplay like KH2 but with some new ideas. Sora would play like KH2 Sora with a couple of new drive forms, but Kairi would be in the main party and would have character switching between the two where Kairi would have shotlocks instead of Sora, giving two different playstyles to experiment with while still being optional at the same time.

Dodge roll? Then what Block when it runs? It runs me into a corner then I die because it still traps me past the duration of the block command. Magic spam? It’ll shave off some pixels. From the gameplay side, between this review and the last review, I believe this video covers most of my sentiments on what is wrong with the mechanics. I think the issues can be summed up as: 1. Floaty, long animation attacks with long lag periods on most attacks. This gets very noticeable on certain boss fights where, if the boss decides to start an attack in the middle of a combo, even if you absolutely see it coming, you will not get out of animation lock before that boss attack hits you. This leads to a number of instances where you either stop attacking to wait for an attack to come to block/dodge, or you just decide to eat the hit. This gets really annoying on most of the Heartless style bosses, who have less clear stunned/vulnerable periods compared to the Organization fights and Data Replica post-game bosses. 2. Poor, often incomprehensible staggering mechanics. This is something I don't mind as much with bosses that tend to have more defined windows, but this gets very frustrating when some enemies just seem to get to decide when and where they stagger with no consistency. 3. Minimal cost (outside of the random activation) associated with the majority of the powerful mechanics. This is part of why I respected KH2 a lot. Most mechanics in the game felt like they had a cost associated with them. Drives and Summons in particular felt like a cost-assessment with them, as there wasn't a reliable way to refill them in combat, and the Dark Sora form was a legitimate concern in most Boss fights. Using a Drive or Summon against a boss meant committing to a more aggressive attack style that might leave you without a resource you may need later, which was what kept them more balanced. In KH3, the Form Changes really are just strict upgrades for the low cost of spamming attacks and spells. Hell, Rage Form in KH3 is almost entirely a benefit, as it can be used for the incredible number of I-frames it grants just to stall until MP Recharge finishes to full heal with Leaf Bracer equipped. Attractions, Links, and Team attacks are even worse in that they usually give near invulnerability for the duration with the only cost being that you don't get to pick which one are available with the latter two. 4. Low mechanical variety between options. This one was one covered in the first video, but I really took notice of it when I decided to sit down on my latest playthrough and try some different styles. For Magic, Fire, Water, and Blizzard are practically the same spell, and Aero and Thunder server relatively similar purposes, with the only spell that isn't just an AoE damage option being Cure. All of them are more or less AoE spells, and while powerful, don't really do a whole lot unique. Similarly, other than animations and most of the finishers, I never felt like I was pushed towards using one Keyblade or the other for anything other than stats and abilities (maybe). The Form changes, while used frequently, weren't really enough of a draw for me after the first time or two I used them to influence my use of one over the other. Links and Attractions largely feel unique in how they are executed mechanically at least, but they also just kind of all serve the same purpose as anything else. While I'm not necessarily expecting spells like Balloon, Mine, Magnet, Gravity, Reflect, KH1 Aero, Elemental Surges, etc. to be all thrown in, KH has had a huge variety of applications for magic and abilities across the series. In this regard, KH3 has a weird lack of diversity, despite having some very visually appealing attacks. Most options can be boiled down to "Big AoE Damage with lots of I-frames for the cinematic finisher". The more recent DLC has added in the Pro Codes, which allow you to effectively disable almost everything about the game if you feel like it. I like that they exist, but even though turning on the majority of these to disable all the potentially broken elements do make the game harder, it doesn't fix a lot of the more fundamental problems I have with the system, namely points 1, 2, and the Magic section of 4. Not being able to Shotlock/Form Finisher/Link Spam my way through a boss does increase the difficulty, but not having those tools just make me notice how painfully slow Sora and unresponsive Sora can feel at times. I feel like the game leans too much into spectacle to cover up for an otherwise average combat system even by comparison to other games in the series.

Making the counter argument that “oh it’s in the game so I should be able to use it!” is freakin ridiculous. Cuz again, how the hell is spamming the same move over and over going to make anything better? It’s just gonna make the game boring. So really, it’s not that you shouldn’t “use” them. It’s more like you shouldn’t “abuse” them. Ignoring the other mechanics in the game isn’t gonna help either. Why not use Shotlocks, Quickstep, Magic, And specific abilities attacked to keyblade transformations instead? Or hell, mix it up alongside links! That’s what I do. 🤔

@@BobbyTheGamerOfJUSTICE Bro, dude, pal, guy, you've made approximately 5 million comments on my videos, how are you STILL missing the point this hard? I spent half of this video explaining why combat without links is inconsistent and frustrating, thus making link spam not only the most powerful option, but also the least annoying (10:26). Besides, an overpowered and spammable option in a game is ALWAYS an inherent problem. Ignoring the bad balance doesn't make it go away, you're just deflecting criticism without addressing it. If I found an optional area in KH3 where the music didn't load and the jump button didn't work, would it be valid to say "oh well it's optional so just ignore it?" No, of course not. Closing your eyes and covering your ears whenever there's an obvious flaw in the game doesn't magically fix the flaw. Yeah, other games in the series have balance issues too, but that doesn't excuse it in KH3. Again you're not refuting my points, you're deflecting by saying "oh well what about balloon?" Who cares about Balloon? This video isn't about DDD.

The lack of Final Fantasy characters is a more of an issue as a matter of principle. The series was conceived as a crossover between Final Fantasy and Disney, and so omitting that origin point for seemingly no reason is pretty stupid. If I remember right, the developer’s excuse was something to do with the plot, as if they hadn’t been pulling nonsense out of their ass to tell the story of Kingdom Hearts as early as Chain of Memories. Surely they could’ve come up with some reason for the Final Fantasy crew to be present, but just chose not to. What exactly was gained from the omission of 99% of the Final Fantasy content? There’s fewer Disney Worlds, all of the characters are just recycled, plot’s as nonsensical as ever... I guess the Gummi Ship stuff was expanded a ton, because everybody was totally begging for more of that.

Yeah what a Top Secret he was. 4_This game feel like the Remind DLC have things that was suppose to be at day one launch adn yet it's like they cut it to let us pay again to play it all. 5_They showed Terra's armor in one scene and yet we didn't know his fate nor what happened with him and Terranort, they really expect us to be okay with letting a plot hole stay empty until the DLC come? Even Demyx we don't know his fate. It was like they released the game early to shut our mouths for all this wait and then go working on the real good stuff. Like "Just a Pancake" make with Critical Mode's video. 6_In the entire KH3 worlds there is "No Single Place" where we can find Riku, Aqua and the others and react with them. In KH2 we had Riku, Kairi, Mickey in "The World That Never Was" and can run by them but not here "Nobody" (That's right Nobody haha) can be found. 7_Do you remember that scene when Ansem the wise is rescued by Hayner, Pence and Olette then Vexen arrive to them after completing "The Carabeen" or "San Fransokyo"? Well on my gameplay i hurry and go back to Twilight Town to see what changed but nothing changed. Everyone react like nothing have ever happened and Hayner and the others where at their spots like they never run into Ansem, Ansem or Vexen. This is an unforgivable plot hole. 8_ The game is easy than the easiet, i usualy play games on easy and even the previous KH games on this difficulty had their hard times, they even didn't make KH1 with an easy difficulty so now they remember to make it easy for kids? KH3 was so easy on all first 3 difficulty. Critical mode was good but still i want to play with full HP & MP. 9_Speaking of easy org13 memebers was more easy than how they should be, even Ansem didn't use his Guardian this time. Ansem and Xemnas was still hard to beat in DDD but here with Young Xehanort it's the opposite, is't because Riku and Mickey helping us? Then fix this! the 3 of them and every other member is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EASYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! 10_After years of waiting, the one scene everyone was looking for it to finally see Roxas and Ventus react to each other was only a 2 seconds of "Huh" and "Hmm". Good job Nomura and good job Square Enix for letting the fans wait years to see this. Sora didn't even react to see Ventus while Ventus did it and thankfully Lea/Axel still memorized to say how Roxas and Ventus resemble each other. Sora you idiot. The previous KH with the "Final Mix" , KH1 - KH2 - BBS, they all are awesome without the FM versions but KH3 without the "Remind" DLC is still NOTHING. These things really have ruin my love to KH3. I still love it but not yet sure if it deserve to top KH2. Well all what we can do is waiting for KH3 Remind DLC.

Don't forget Kairi's "character development" too. They just threw her under not one but two busses and let her drag for miles on a gravel road. I mean she and Lea were training all that time but just throw away at the end so easily. :/ Games now are so full of bullsh!t being pushed out half broken, incomplete story, crappy mechanics, constant patches to fix bugs, etc... I miss the ps2 era where most(some games were broken then too ngl.) video games came out with all content on them. It's a shame they did this to fans. If they kept their mouths zipped about the game coming out and just spent the time working on the game not hyping the truck out of it...

Dude, there's nothing wrong with not caring about the mobile game story... you just have to understand that, like it or not, it's important going forward. See, I wish I could just not care about it (and I believe that most of the people following its story also wish they could), but Nomura isn't letting me, because god forbid that this series not be smeared out over half a dozen platforms. Thank god for the KZbinrs that upload translations and do summaries of the mobile game; you do good work, but they're the heroes of the fandom in my eyes.

To be fair, the Mobile game itself isn’t all that important (at least for now). The only thing you NEED to know is Xchi Back Cover from the 2.8 collection. Everything else from the mobile game itself will likely do more with future games. Let alone a remake is inevitable, much like how Chain of Memories got one

If you got the Ultima weapon you'd be MORE dissapointed, because it's finisher AND shotlock are both screen nukes, that basically kill 7/10ths of the things in the game in one use, 9.5/10ths if you use your shotlock twice.

Some good turn-based games I would recommend to you are SMT 3 Nocturne and Persona 5. Both of them feature a fast paced style of battle where you are trying to hit the enemy for their weakness or getting criticals to get extra turns. However the enemy can do the same thing to you if they hit your weakness or crit. They are also similar to Pokemon in the sense that you have to collect demons and fuse them to make new ones. Persona 5 is more modern and has a lot of visual flair in everything. It also has a social aspect that breaks up the dungeon crawling. I'd recommend that one first.

Shitty balance is the trademark of an Osaka team game. The shot locks, mine squares, and cure combo from BBS, the balloon attacks from DDD, and now links from 3. And yet fanboys (and girls) still attack fans who figure this out and have a problem with it. This is largely why I haven’t liked Kingdom Hearts since 2. Sure the story was crappy, at least by comparison to the original and CoM, but the game was balanced and fun. All of the options were viable, and were fun to use.

TheDBZhedgehog as far as what exactly? Could you elaborate? I’ve seen button mashers sure, but I’ve also seen those same button mashers get their asses handed to them in the data fights and against lingering will
@TheDbzthedgehog5 жыл бұрын
@@andrewvillers8302 There tends to be a plethora of ways to break any actually strenuous fight, the organization re-fights and lingering will included. Think strats like Final Form Firaga, or the Peter Pan/Duck Flare stun lock. Tbh you could very well abuse Limits in the same fashion as Links in this game, especially since you're fully invincible, and a lot of them allow you to use items in-between the i-frames, giving you zero drawback. If that isn't improperly balanced, I genuinely don't see how Link Spam is.
@andrewvillers83025 жыл бұрын
TheDBZhedgehog, in reference to Crit mode I have to disagree. I’ve fought lingering will and the data fights multiple times, and never have I been able to “break open” any fight. Links nigh destroy any balance much like balloon, especially since their cooldown is so small. Whereas in 2, the cooldown is so long you have to time your dodges and learn attack patterns. You had multiple options to defeat bosses and they were all fun. Links aren’t the more fun option in 3; they are the only reasonable option, due to a break in balance. Osaka has never been good at balance. Look at the command deck in BBS, balloon in DDS, and you’ll see how the games balance is completely gone. Drives and team attacks were powerful yes, but they weren’t the only reasonable option. All of 2s options were fun and balanced. Combos were reasonable, as you could stack finishers to make them nearly as powerful as drives, Magic was good and you could combo those as well, drives...enough said, and I gotta admit, the only thing I never really used were Summons

@@andrewvillers8302 Well if you think that that's the case check these out really quick. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oX7Xfpejg7FksMU kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZ29f3iQl9edgMk kzbin.info/www/bejne/fp7RhHiYgJ2AmdU Being "fun" is subjective, so using that as a basis for why KH2 did it better isnt exactly a sound argument. As is me saying I personally had fun with KH3, but the fact of the matter is, there are no Kingdom Hearts games that are "fair", there's always some proportionally imbalanced tactic that people use to cheese the game and that hasnt changed with 3, don't think it ever will. Singling out Osaka Team for this is extremely irrational as 1, 2, CoM, Days and ReCoded all suffer from this and they were not made by these developers. Edit: Oh yeah, also about Drives, I feel the trade-off required to use it _alone_ is enough to deter a player from using them. As you're actively punished for having fun and using them a lot with Anti-Form. Plus the charge gauge is excruciatingly slow, even under MP charge shenanigans. If I may ask, how is it reasonable for KH2 to pull this and get away with a free pass, and yet the streamlining of KH3's form changes are met with disdain?

It would've been nice if the developers implemented a Risk & Reward mechanic similar to the previous numbered games. Some examples; In KH1, the Reward for parrying an enemy attack was receiving Tech meaning you gained additional EXP. This was satisfying to pull off yet dangerous because the Risk- do recall that the first release of Kingdom Hearts didn't have the ability Leaf Bracer, so having low health was a guaranteed Game Over. In Kh2, Valor Form's Risk was being unable to block, and having no access to magic commands (no Cure and its upgrades). On the other hand, the Reward was worth it because of its high strength and its ferocity style of combat. Wisdom Form was weak when it came to its basic attack, yet magic was it's forte; able to cast on the move, execution was faster, and had enhanced properties. Now you can argue that Master Form and Final Form conditions to level up wouldn't be considered a Risk, as well as lossing both party members... and I agree. No game is perfect, although I do believe KH3 would've better if it gave players some obstacles.
