Nice! I would definitely find a way to seal up some problem areas of paint. I typically have used a clear coat for that. There are many different kinds of clear coats that you can use. They have satin, matte, gloss, extra gloss. I find that a nice clear coat on top can really make the pain job underneath (when done right) pop! I painted a figure and I decided to go with a more shinier look for the armor and used a gloss top coat and it really did make thing look much better. Quick weathering tip, I use a pointy object to make scuff and scratch marks sometimes and then apply a wash over it. Comes out looking really nice most of the time.

Nice to see you doing some actual modeling. One thing I’d recommend is using the hairspray chipping technique. It will help you with your helmet weathering. Also, learn about enamel or oil pin and grunge washes and dry brushing technique. Just that alone will open up a whole new world to you and as you get better with it it’ll ignite your imagination even more. Glad to see you got an Iwata. I run an Iwata eclipse and Tamiya HG 3 through a Iwata power jet lite compressor. Iwata owns a lot of the air brush companies now. (Iwata, Sparmax, Mr. Color, Harder and Steinbeck, Tamiya, All made by Iwata). Anyway I digress. Cheers and happy modeling from Japan.

@@JedhaPatrol it’s pretty simple actually. You dab hairspray with a sponge or brush on your primer or bare metal coat. Spray your base coat. Then use a tooth brush to remove the hair sprayed parts. It leaves chipping patterns. A good example of what the technique looks like is the weathering on Slave 1 in Empire. It was used a lot on ILM’s stuff.

I love it. Looks awesome! I have two suggestions, first a hairdryer. It will change your life. The second, piant the punisher logo over the ammo packs on the chest. Remember build what you love!

hairdryer was used some, but good suggestion. I thought about carrying the logo over, but decided against it in the end.

What kind of paints are you using. I hope they are not craft acrylics as those lack durability. I suggest Vallejo acrylic paints and then light clear coat. I also would suggest Tamiya primer of hardware store stuff as those are too thick and will fill in too much details. For a larger printer, I suggest the Saturn 2 which is 8K and has a larger build plate than the Mars series.

Looks good! I think I like the first helmet better, at least on camera. I would suggest not printing the visor piece and glue on a piece of shiny black plastic. Then you don’t have to mimic the shine of a visor.
