There's a little bit of jankiness in some of the shots, but the compositing is so well done, it looks more like a miniature than CGI. I think that's down to the 3D model and materials not being detailed enough.

I saw an interesting interview with several of the original cast, around the time the new movie was coming out, and they had a variety of viewpoints on it.. one, I forget which, was under the impression the comics had always been goofy lighthearted fare, and another (I wanna say Gorshwin) was aware they had a lot heavier themes in the 40s. But in general they were confused old people wondering why we needed a new thing that was so different, and that's a mood I can sympathize with. Still, it's much worse being a 90s kid, seeing kiddification overturned, seeing deep serious stories presented, and then.... janet jackson flashes a pasty and it all reverts to cheap garbage, and never comes back.

And West was not a small tiny guy, he was 187 cm (6ft 1 ½), so after Ben Affleck (193 cm), he is the tallest actor to ever portray Batman). For us guys born in the 60's Adam West WAS Batman. I loved Batman as a kid. A scruffy little English child such as I was, back in the '70s, had never seen anything like it before. Because of this Adam West was huge here in Britain, making regular appearances on kid's TV. It's good to see Adam West get a little bit of respect because he did more to spread word of Batman than anyone else before him.

Oh, don't you worry. Every true Batman fan has a place in their heart for Adam West. As a Batman fan myself, I've always _loved_ the psychologically dark aspects of the franchise. But, I will always love Adam West's Batman, too. That was a part of my childhood, too, and even then I realized this was a goofier representation than Hollywood's Batman, but I loved it! And still do to this day. There's a place for all the variants we've had so far. 100%

I was born in the late 80’s. In the early 90’s after school, I would rush to my Grandma’s home and watch _Batman: The Animated Series_ on Fox Kids at 4:30PM and then _Batman ‘66_ on FX (Or was it TNT or USA?) at 5:00PM. They were two very different Batmans. In _Batman ‘66_ Cesar Romero’s Joker had a cute blonde gun moll that he called *_Queenie._* I thought she was supposed to be the same character as Harley Quinn (Which as a 4 year old, I spelled as *_Harley QUEEN_* thinking since she had card motifs like the diamonds, clovers, hearts, and spades and since the Joker was a playing card and used card tricks. I also thought *_Alicia_* from Batman ‘89 was supposed to be the same character.

West woula loved this. I recall an interview where he insisted he was the only actor who could portray Frank Miller's Dark Knight correctly, pointing to the fact that he had aged into the role and noting that (paraphrased) "my Batman was based in humor. So is Frank Miller's -- it's a much darker kind of humor, to be sure, but one I understand just as well." It's not that no in-between works, but trying to combine tones is a challenge not always met. I'd say "The Brave and the Bold", which was mostly silly, had some serious moments that really worked, and inversely, Batman: The Animated Series, which was mostly serious, had some silly episodes that really worked. "Gotham" is a curious case of...the writing is so bad it's good, but everything else from casting to production design is unironically excellent. I'd say that show, in all its strange combination of competence and incompetence, manages to make a tone that combines the silly and the serious work really well, even in spite of writing that...kind of doesn't. I really don't think it has to be one or the other, but combining them in a way that works is not necessarily easy.

I actually always wondered how the original goofy theme could sound as a modern orchestral version the way they do with jingles like with Spider-Man. And I spent many times trying hard to picture it without it being silly. And this is the first time it was actually achieved. And I think combining it with The Batman’s theme was a nice touch.

It’s the same thing I think about the Original Superman theme. I wasn’t fond of it when it was used in Superman Returns, it took me out of the movie too many times and thought I was watching the Christopher Reeves movies. I’m glad they threw that theme out the window and got Hans Zimmer in to create the masterpiece theme for Man Of Steel.

'60's Batman is the best Batman hands down in my opinion. The show was made campy on purpose and Adam West was in on it. It's innocent fun. Fun fact: The colours were over saturated because of the recent invention of the colour TV and they wanted to take advantage of that.

The over use of new technology always happens, in music production when Stereo came in, music had a lot of hard left and right pans, over use of synthesizers in the late 70's and 80's is iconic.

Yeah, it's a symptom of how dumbed-down we got as a culture, with everyone having the taste of an eleven-year old boy; the very hip, multi-level 60s Batman goes over their head.. Every Batman movie has been lame because every Batman the've had ever since has been lame (though not the Bruce Waynes). The costumes look ridiculous and overdesigned, the Batmobiles suck, the Batcaves suck, the action sequences suck. Adam West is the only Batman who IS Batman; the others are all actors moonlighting as Batman. Michael Keaton was atrocious as Batman. And what the hell is it with all of them doing that fake Clint Eastwood voice when they're in the Batman suit? I tried re-watching "The Dark Knight" recently and I burst out laughing at the sight of Gary Oldman acting his ass off, looking up and seeing a dude in a Batman suit standing there. These babies take "Batman" way too seriously.

To be honest Adam West, writers, crew, etc were mostly having an amazing time doing the original. They originally signed on to do a show for kids that was so “bad” that it would never continue; but then it became a hit…and with all sorts of age demographics. So when they got higher ratings budgets they just started adding more guests, more camp, pushing the limits on jokes and situational boundaries; and they kept getting asked for more. For them, it was like getting asked to run around and get paid loads of money for playing a massive lowest effort joke with the world; and getting continued applause for it.

I'm so happy that Adam West's portrayal of Batman is finally getting the recognition it deserves. I've watched through most of the 60s series, and it actually does have that grit factor in some episodes. literally the first episode of the series the villain's hench-girl gets killed in the Batcave by falling into a power generator. and even in the goofier episodes, Adam West, and certainly even the amazing actors that played opposite him as the villains, all play it with a level of commitment I don't think any other incarnation of Batman or his foes has. I have always maintained that Adam West was the best Batman, and videos like this bolster my courage in giving that answer. didn't mean for this comment to turn into a paragraph, but thanks guys for shining light on one of the best comic book adaptations ever made (in my humble opinion).
