I-83 North - York to Harrisburg - Pennsylvania - 4K Highway Drive

Yep. Just Baltimore to Harrisburg. Yet, still has its own spur and a rare northeast business loop.

The section on the east side of Harrisburg, from the Eisenhower Interchange (I-83 with I-283 and US 322) to the northern terminus at I-81, is much nicer ride now since the widening project was completed in the last year or so. Before then, it almost felt like 83 on that side was over-glorified cattle chutes. Also glad this is from 2022 and not 2019 with all the construction. Harrisburg actually has a full beltway around with 83 on the south and east, 81 north and west, and the 581 connector. 81 south has a really cool interchange with US 22/322 and decent stack if you take that way from North 83.

Nice. It was much easier to drive than that southern portion. Are there any plans to upgrade that part as well?

@@MileageMikeTravels south of York, that was redone maybe 15 years ago. It was pretty dangerous around the Queen Street exit. Mt. Rose Avenue exit was redone in the last 5. I don’t know of any plans. I actually used to purposely avoid getting on 83 south from 30. It’s a very tight area. Also, one of the bridges for Queen Street recently got hit and needs repaired.

I saw Interstate 83 in Harrisburg when I was on Interstate 81.
