dont use seeds or spores for the bioreactor. they dont add much. the acid mushrooms themselves add way more. if u want max power, grow some oculus for the bioreactor. they are a fish in the jellyshroom cave. they are the BEST for power. engine efficiency is shit. hull reinforcement is also pretty shit. dont ever bother with them. the only useful general upgrade there is the storage module, especially for the seamoth. yes the seamoth is ideal when you can use it. the cyclops is very clumsy and also cant escape easily. if u do use it, keep distance from hostiles and, if needed, use silent running for a SHORT time when near hostiles u cannot avoid, ideally at slow speed. scan every skeleton you find! some can have interesting data about them. make sure you read it! yes you CAN scan the skeleton! the skull anyway... you can still explore almost ALL of the lost river with a 900m depth limit! so dont worry about it. the fish you found there, is also common in the red grass areas, near the tall pillars. its the BEST food in the game (at least that you can find in the natural evironment) and its ideal as cured food for long journeys, unless you rely on food grown inside the cyclops, and u go with it.

the green pools are brine. earths oceans have them too in the deep sea. basically in terms of saltiness it goes water-salt water-brine pools. its so salty even crabs and eels go into toxic shock when swimming in it. those pools have resources but will hurt you so prawn suit is a must.

The cool thing about the super deep is that it doesn't feel as deep as the rest. There are not a whole lot of wide expanses. You just have to build a base so you feel there is somewhere safe to go! You got this!

The salt was gross, there was sea weed everywhere, you could see your shadow on the bottom(keep in mind I have only swam in lakes, rivers, or streams) and a shadow or two scared me 🤣😭, and I have never had water go from ankles too a foot above my head in the blink of an eye. Turns out it's not for me, yet. I really just missed my lakes and streams 🤗🤗

The key to creatures like amp eels and reapers is the amount of sound the cyclops is making. Go slower and use the lowest engine setting to avoid getting attacked. Lots of big things happening though! Keep it up.

The Reinforced dive suit halves the damage you take. You are resilient to heat now as well. Also you really should have made a drill arm for the prawn. And you were so close to finding the resources you needed. I believe you'll need to go back down to the Lost River to get the depth upgrade for the prawn.

The "Repulsion Cannon", The yellow version of the Blue one you're carrying is able to shoot amp eel and similar sized marine beasties with these benefits.. 1.. Through the Cyclopes window.. 2.. Has A Large Hitbox.. 3.. Shoots them a long way and out of Sight.. 4.. Stuns Leviathans long enough to whip the stasis rifle out, Freeze them in a stasis bubble then Heat blade them 150 times, Reapply stasis bubble B4 it drops to far in size. Give yourself time to take a hold of whats going on around you by choosing "Pause Game While PDA is Open" in The Menu >Options >Accessibility.. My PDA is mapped to Middle Mouse Button for speed & ease. Oh.. Warpers will not warp you out of a base, this includes the Cyclopse. Don't forget to replenish fire extinguishers. 3xTitanium

FYI: bonesharks are super attracted to seamoth lights! Crabsquids are the other ones that are attracted to light. It draws them in pretty fast but the perimeter defense system will make them leave you alone for a while, but it does drain battery. Just something to keep in mind! The sonar is really helpful for dark places (esp. with bonesharks and crabsquids around). Loving the videos lately! You're making so much progress and it's so fun to re-live the feeling of playing Subnautica for the first time. It took me years to beat the game because I was so scared. You're doing awesome 🥳

SPOILER FREE TIP: The cyclops has a mechanic that isn't talked about enough, mostly because the game does a terrible job at letting you know about it: Noise The amount of noise the cyclops emits is dependent on several factors and you can see it in the bottom right corner of the screen when piloting the cyclops. The faint blue sphere tells you how far the noise generated by the cyclops is reaching. If a creature capable of damaging the cyclops enters that blue sphere, it will probably turn red on the HUD and attack you. At that point, you have a couple options: 1. Switch to "ahead flank" speed and escape 2. Activate the shield generator 3. Eject a creature decoy and quite the engines and hope the creature goes for the decoy. So how do you reduce the amount of noise the cyclops generates? 1. Engine speed. Slower generates less noise. 2. Silent running. Activating it generates less noise, although it can eat through your power (not as much as the sonar or shield generator tho) Hope this makes you more comfortable in the cyclops!

Don’t give me that. He’s already built the cyclops, so he knows its name. The cyclops already comes with the ability to use creature decoys so I don’t think that counts as a spoiler. And the noise game mechanic, the game gives no hints to how it works unless you look very closely at the translucent blue bubble around the cyclops image in the bottom right of the HUD. And even then it’s not obvious what it’s for. There’s a chance that you go through the game several times without ever knowing how this mechanic works. The only thing you might have a case for is the upgrades but even then, it’s not like I’m telling him where to find them like some people did with other things in his playthrough. I don’t see why you’re having a go at me for this.

Climbing back up in the prawn suit is always a huge pain, but it’s often worth it. The most frustrating part is when you finally get back to your cyclops and in your panic, you can't manage to dock it. I know this not just from your video but from numerous personal experiences, lol.

If you're getting attacked in the cyclops enough that fires are starting, TURN OFF THE ENGINE and WAIT FOR EVERYONE TO GO AWAY. Then if the above works, REPAIR THE CYCLOPS. You can sometimes get animals chasing you across biomes if you're not careful. Don't use emergency speed if you're getting attacked. Edit: I use emergency speed for non-emergencies because I'm impatient like that.

Well done on making it this far! A few tips for the Lost River: Those green pools that you thought were sand at first are a heavier brine that sinks to the bottom, forming pools and rivers underwater, and that’s how the Lost River gets it’s name. It doesn’t do much to vehicles, but it’s highly corrosive to you, so try not to swim into it. The Lost River doesn’t drop below 900m at its deepest. If you go deeper than that, you’re headed to a new biome. All the resources for the next depth modules and other upgrades are down there at about 800m: nickel and crystalline sulfur, mainly, along with a lot of large resource deposits, so bring your drill. There’s multiple entrances to the Lost River: one in the Bulb Zone, which is the entrance you’ve found, and one in each of the two Blood Kelp zones. You can switch your map to biome mode or Lost River mode with the tab in the top left corner to find them easier. And last but not least, keep an eye out for artificial structures down there. I won’t say more than that. Good luck!

Another way to get there is (spoiler) to continue past the Degasi habitat from the Grand Reef. That's the way I discovered it, and I would argue that's the beginning of the Lost River, because it's just about the longest path you can possibly take to the lava zone lol. But the good part about that is you'll inevitably encounter all the alien structures along your way.

Non spoiler tip, you can craft a few beacons so you can come back to important spot later. Like marking the entrance of the Lost River. Also a Creature decoy in the cyclops is very good. Same as the Radar Upgrade for the cyclops if you have it

The drill arm is a really good defense on the prawn suit so I usually pair it with the grappling hook. If anything attack you, just "drill" at them and they will take damage and eventually die. Its also handy to always have the drill arm on so if you find any drillable resource while out exploring you can bring some home. Best of luck!

Alright cyclops for dummies: There’s 3 speed settings, slow makes you harder to see, normal you’re already using and fast makes you go considerably fast at the cost of engine integrity, it will eventually catch fire later The rig for silent running can be used to ~half your noises (seen with a blue transparent sphere on the “attack radar” Decoys are a must have to escape “later foes.”

It is a late game area, but you're in late game phase. It is the right time to turn Cyclops into a fully, renewably self-sufficient mobile base (power: build a minimal outpost for recharging power cells and batteries using a bioreactor, disassemble it and stuff all the materials into a dedicated locker, to be rebuilt whenever you need to stop to recharge. Also don't forget to take a modification station), say bye to Philippa and your base, and just go on the trek down the river. You won't be back to the surface for a good couple episodes. BTW, the river is fairly safe. With exception of exactly 3 places (you'll know), Lost River is about as dangerous as a kelp forest. A seaglide is the best option for exploring around Cyclops. Later, sure, it's gonna get harder.

Your Cyclops will auto heal when it's at 80% or above in health. Use the shield when you have to. The reason it looked like it drained so much last time you used it was because you only had like 2 or 3 Power Cells in it. It does drain, but roughly 1% every 2 seconds. You can tell your cuddle fish to stop following you when you go interact with it. The "ball soup" joke you made cracked me up more than I thought it would. Thanks for the laughs!

If you look to your right on the cyclops you can find an option called rig for silent running. The noise made by the cyclops affects how aggressive creatures are so using it is good for keeping aggresive creatures from attacking you. This is also affected by the speed of the cyclops. 1550m is the lowest u need to go to finish the game, basically almost the lowest point u can go in the game non spoiler tips i think tip: u can command Ranbo to stop following tip2: u can deff use the prawn with 900m for just the lost river tip 3: build a little base there with a thermal plant from the heat sources down there to give it power tip4: use 'ahead slow' on cyclops for more stealth and also silent running and 'ahead flank' to get away from things quickly. tip5: get fire suppression system to get rid of the fire in the cyclops. tip6: always have the drill arm on your prawn, it does damage and u can get alot of resources from those big ore chunks. hope this helps this series has been amazing from start till now ;)

My tip to you for the Cyclops (based off of a lot of experience) when you see any yellow specs on the radar always use silent running and slow speed for minimal noise so that they don't target you and if you do get targeted by several eels or any big leviathan then use the emergency speed. (It's there for a reason). Also creature decoys are fantastic and underused don't forget to craft some for the cyclops

The thing about the scanning is: it reads the doll as a blueprint. And since you already have it, it gives u the 2 Titanium Oh and everything is affected by the shock. You just need to hit it

If you release the predators you hatch theyll be freindly to you. Also th3 tiger plants can be harvested to combine with exterior geowbeds to make living turrets. I dont know if theyll be freindly ro you and your cuddlefish so id google it to be safe.

cuddlefish have like 8 times the hp of the biggest leviathon so dont warry too much about it dying. it would take a reaper multiple hours to kill it. Also. you did not explore the lost river yet. you just stumbled into it... the true fun lies further inside

Let me preface this by saying this game also terrifies me. 15:22 - just slow down, breathe. Use your shields when you see red creatures approaching on the radar, take the hit, then shut off everything. (Though be aware, shield is a HUGE power sink. Keep spare powercells in storage. It's meant to be used in this very situation, where you pop it to brace a hit, then go dead silent by full shutdown. It will only use like 25-30% of the energy if done optimally.) Creatures leave you alone after a few seconds when you're shut down. As soon as you shut down its time to put out fires by hand (or better, get the fire suppression system installed). Once fires are out the creatures should be backing off, so it's time to swim outside and repair. Be bold and have that stasis rifle ready. Going home is the last thing you should do :P. Going home you still have to eventually come back and get through that again. Get some decoy torpedos. Alternatively, you wouldn't know this as a newer player, but some tend to figure it out. When going to the deeper depths, there are a few points around the map that go to those depths and converge. Sometimes it's less stress to find another way down at a different part of the map. Ultimately, my biggest advice is trust the safety of the Seamoth over everything. I've beaten the game countless times, and never relied on the cyclops. It's just so bulky, and a pain to have to repair on the fly. Seamoth lets you dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge out of the way of everything, and that zappy shock mode at your finger tips is a dream, it'll tell anything and everything to GO AWAY. I loooove just building outpost bases around with Moonpools. Imagine a nice observatory to watch the ampeels from :). Creatures will never attack a base. Now onward I go with the video lol. Cheers brother. PS. Also, if it does come down to the Cyclops being destroyed, that is such a huge pain in the booty, especially if you've set up stations and furnishings inside. Really, who cares if you pop a Seamoth.

There are four entrances to the lost river: One in the Bulb Zone, the one you went to. Two in the Blood Kelp Zone: One in the northern zone (where you've gone) - it's easy to pilot the Cyclops through, And one in the southern zone. It's not very dangerous and a quick descent. Both Blood Kelp entrances are my preferred ways to enter. The final one is in the deep Grand Reef, where you found the 500m Degasi base. All four of these entrances connect in some way, so what determines the ideal entry point is the danger/terror factor of the biome above. P.S. the river itself barely goes past 900m. You actually need to go through it to find materials for the 1300m depth modules (Cyclops mk. 2 and Prawn mk. 1).

Build a small base in the lost river on the cliff overlooking the magic ‘nursery’ tree (850-900m deep, you’ll know it when you see it). It doesn’t need to be a large base just round room with battery chargers, food and water, a scanner room put at least two range extenders in it (important!) and a moon-pool. you can power it with either nuclear or from the smoking thermal vents nearby with thermal reactors. It will ease your worries having a halfway waypoint, a place to charge stuff and a respawn point.

Taking bloodkelp, normal kelp, gel sacks and acid mushrooms to plant down there is helpful too, saves you having to do long resupply missions if you need stuff.

Hey man, I just wanted to drop some appreciative words here. I'm currently playing Subnautica myself, and I also have thalassophobia, so I can really relate to your gameplay even more. Beyond the gameplay, I don't know if you have an editor or do everything yourself, but your videos are insane. Absolutely top-notch, each episode feels like a mini-series. Now you are in the endgame, captain Butch. You found one of the 3 ways to get to the Lost River and you picked the most dangerous one. There is one if you return to the 500m Degasi base and just continue straight forward. The other is by the Escape Pod belonging to a Yu fellow and you turn left. Park the Cyclops there and walk with the Prawnsuit from there instead. There you will find TONS of materials your drillarm I noticed you keep in the Prawn’s storage. But still, the Lost River is still a dangerous place, so keep yourself safe. And again I will suggest you build a few Thermo Plants down in the heatvent next to your base. Most reliable powersupply in the game.

Since you are always running out of power, you Can always make a Nuclear Reactor which gives you 2500 power and last for a total of 8 hours Per Nuclear Rod, you Can put a total of 4 rods in one Reactor. I always make Them and they are the best type of power! I really suggest you using it
