The sumeru arc is very bloody. I remember back then during the earlier version that the darkest thing we've ever seen in Genshin was that dead thief in the chamber where the upside down statue of the seven can be found. Oh we were all so naive back then.

I blame Babel. P.S: i know Azariq is a traitor and all but i have a strict code about showing mercy to surrendering enemys.

Fatui is similar with the Storm Troopers in Star Wars. Some are not evil. They just join the empire because it brought them, and their love ones stability. Something the republic fail to provide for them.

There are many Fatuus that are hard to be seen as enemies. They just join because it's a JOB, a gruesome one, but still joined to survive or for the sake of their families. Some were just groomed to be foot soldiers. Hope that when we get to Snezhnaya we could put some sense into the tsaritsa and all. 😕

I'm really glad that Hoyo is always showing us that some of these Fatui are just humans themselves and most of them are just normal Snezhnayan citizens under some destructive government organization. You might not feel sorry or forgive them for being influenced by some bad company but at least you will find it at some point inside you that they are also part of a bad situation.

And don't forget two things: one, there are lots of characters coming from Genshin with long lifespans that don't necesserily have to be archons or adeptis. Two, Fatuis do experiment on children---accelerating the growth of children's bodies is not out of the question.

The world of Genshin is not really peaceful go-happy world, as we leave the more stable Mondstadt and Liyue we realize that Teyvat is filled with conflicts and their cruel consequences... on the same line, the traveler is not an innocent goody two shoes either, they will kill right away if they deem it needed, either physically or emotionally

this is why i hate how badly written majority of the fatui are when it comes to the main story compared to these ones here. i want there to be more complex story telling of them as an organization where rather them being villains, they are simply a antagonist believing that what they are doing is just. similar to the empire of star wars. a perspective war if you will. Though...knowing that Genshin was mainly meant to have a young target audience, i highly doubt we'll ever get that much complexity for a story like this. I'm hoping they do the same for Tartaglia eventually.

No offense, but that was always the implication with the Fatui. That doesn't mean that there aren't going to be some among their ranks that genuinely deserve to die. Dottore for one. If you mean outside of the Harbingers, then yes the foot soldiers could use more representation in Archon quests. It's going to be a hard balancing act with other character stories though, playable or otherwise.
