Its so cool how you are able to make the power lines connect themselves automatically! And I really hope you do the snow biome next.

The systems you make are so advanced and SO cool! : O I would be way in over my head, that's for sure, so it's cool and super fascinating seeing somebody who knows what they are doing! Haha! Great progress! : D

Awww, thanks a lot :) I can tell you that I feel like everything is over my head quite often and then I need a lot of time and patience to figure out how to make everything work in the way I want it to.

This is the wrong devlog, but I feel like the gras should connect the neighbouring gras tiles to form a bigger field, so it looks less board-gamey. But that is for a later point. :D

This is a very good idea! I might give it a try :)

Maybe for having buildings work without power, each powered object could have a battery value, and if they don't get power they still do work, until that battery amount runs out, if that makes sense? And nice work on the devlog! Your devlogs are the kind that get me motivated and make me want to do work on my own stuff! :D (Road to 1K here we are!)

Thanks for the feedback and the idea :D Batteries are on my list in general and the idea is great! Kinda like in astroneer if you played that.

Congratulations, mate. This game is looking really good. I've just found your devlogs and I was sold straight away. I'm really into this kind of games. Keep it up. About your power system. For some people just the color change in the power line could be too subtle to notice. Maybe you have already thought about this, but an improvement could be adding an icon to the machine with not enough power. Like in SimCity, when the power grid goes down and those lightning icons appear on top of the buildings. Nevertheless, great content.

I think you should ad a drill which gives you ressources without mining the drill could move itself or it could stand on one position where a ore source is located

I think that because the smelter gives out smoke, the sawmill should give out sawdust. You could change it just by changing the color of the smoke the sawmill makes to brown or whatever color the current wood type has

Hello, good work on the power system. Looks like this is shaping up to be a pretty cool game. I am not sure how your power system/machines work by code, but one thing that I did for a power system in a game I was developing was calculate a ratio of power produced and power consumed, clamping it between 0 and 1 then multiplying the speed of machines by this ratio. Again my system works differently but I thought I would mention it if it could help you out. Keep up the good work :)
@ObviousDev3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I started with this approach and I might go back to this later on in development :) For now it's easier the way how it is. Manipulate the drone speed is kinda difficult because they need to reach the conveyor when the item is there and then the conveyor would have to slow down too. There are some dependencies when it comes to the speed of the different systems.

What tile/ grid system do you use?
@ObviousDev3 жыл бұрын
I use the unity Grid System for the main floor at the moment and then I just have my own grid logic in which I place/register all other grid entites like items, buildings, etc. :) That's what I use in a nutshell

Can you pls try to keep the videos about the game and not add in pointless "comedy" clips other distractions. Might sound harsh but most of us are only here for your work, not your face.

@TheShelfman3 жыл бұрын
I like it that he adds his face and does the little comedy bits. It makes it more personal and less about just the game's progress like he's some kind of robot😁
@ObviousDev3 жыл бұрын
Hey there :) No worries - constructive criticism is always welcome. Nevertheless I can't promise there will be no more comedy in some form or another in future videos. Maybe these gags or whatever you wanna call them don't work for everyone, but I like to put them in because it is at least fun for me and I wanna try to create content that is somewhat interesting and about the game I'm working on but on the other hand also a bit entertaining. This might not be the content for everybody but I can't please everybody anyways, so I better try to create content that I enjoy working on. And if my jokes are not good or funny, that's maybe because I'm quite new to this and I still need to learn how to make them work. TLDR: I get that this doesn't work for everyone but I'm okay with that.
@TheCaptainMoo3 жыл бұрын
@@ObviousDev I would highly suggest that you don't listen to this person. The comedy (even though it's kinda questionable) is the main attention grabber. Good video 👍
