"When heading for Harlingen (on the Dutch Mainland), leave Vlieland on LW+2" the advice was. So, we left our peaceful spot at 04:50, giving this beautiful exit. Because of the current in our benefit we rushed towards Harlingen en luckily I was full alert otherwise I would have crashed Lady Liselot onto the breakwater of Harlingen.

Cams aboard Lady Liselot. Check them out on Amazon: amzn.to/3P5jFxP (but the silly thing is: these amzn.to/3T1AYB2 almost are alike).
The 4 camera's I use to produce my outdoor footage, are so called PTZ - P(an) T(ilt) Z(oom). Zoom, I only use on the rear camera, when I am underway. As you have seen I use the pan and tilt a lot. And in the dark they produce a great (short view) infrared image. I even can navigate in a marina at night on my cams.
Since they all are so called "IP camera's", each have an unique (hardwired) IP address (no DNS) in my network.

This channel follows a format: "Join Henk-Jan, whilst he cruises on motorvessel Lady Liselot through The Netherlands and a little further". That's it. This automatically means: no boat tour and no boat jobs. These subjects do not fit the format. So, I aim to give you a feel for what life's like aboard for me and hope you enjoy it, perhaps relate to it or maybe even learn something. But it's simply my story and the way I do things. Nothing more, nothing less.

Nederlands.

Another interesting trip, thank you. Being curious I have checked out the km and knot speed relationship and see that very roughly knots is about half km. So your 16km was a very respectable 8 knots. What a speed merchant you are 🤣 However, with the touch of an angel you manoeuvred The Lady away from the marina 'yetty' with the precision of a Master Mariner.

Yeah some luck was involved near the breakwater, that's for sure. I believe 1 land mile is 1.6km and 1 nautical mile is 1.8km. From what I remember form boating school is that if you cut the circle called earth in equal pieces you end up with pieces of 1.8km each, so they called that 1 mile. No idea why the land mile differs from the nautical mile. And the story about "knots" has to do with a rope/line from a certain length and with knots in them every so many distance. When a crewmember dropped one end of that line in the water one had to count how many knots went through is hand before a certain point was reached. It all goes back to the time when man wore trousers and women skirts. ;-)

Hi Henk, despite the cold this might be a bit excessive smoke. Are you still in the run in phase? If so, it might be normal at this point until the piston have set. If it would be me, I would definitely pay close attention to the oil level no matter what and perhaps consult with a mechanic. I hate to see you with engine trouble again. And as the german word of speech says. Vorsicht ist die Mutter der Porzellankiste!😄 Wishing you and your „crew“ the very best and lots of fun with Lady Liselotte! And me too, I found the 4-picture view a great asset! Btw you got me hooked at your dutch cookies!🤣

Nice video! For me departure would have been too early in the morning. Of course tide is very important. When I visited Vlieland some 50 years ago via small sailing vessel (10 m) , we had a lot of problems because of unexpected current. In your video I missed very much hearing you talking to harbour authority and lock masters. Please let your followers hear you talking in Dutch language even if not all of them do understand what's going on.

Lien Hwa Boat Yard was established in 1978 in Taipei, Taiwan. Building boats for several OEM partners included Blue Ocean (Holland - power boats), Little Harbor (US - sail boats), Marine Trader (US - power boats), Trade Winds (US - power boats), Mckinna Yachts, Yanmar boats.

Is there a change in your policy on using one motor at long stretches, like you did before?
@MVLadyLiselot
@MVLadyLiselot Ай бұрын
I can imagine that you draw that conclusion, because of the footage, but on this trip I use one also. The moment I arrived in the Harlingen area I switched on the 2nd. When heading for Vlieland, with the current against, I ran both and burned a lot of fuel.
