This was one of his Dad’s favorite songs. His dad passed away from cancer in 2017. They were very close. His dad gave him the harmonica when he was 7. He said his dad used to walk around the house playing the harmonica when he was a kid. Listen to An American Trilogy that he recorded a few days after his dad’s funeral. Talk about emotional!!! His dad also loved Elvis.

Dan is the man!! Never have I heard a more beautiful and masterful performance of this old timeless hymn! And I grew up in church. My father was a Pastor (still is at age 78!) I'm a PK (Preacher's Kid) and have suggested this and heard it probably thousands of times throughout my lifetime. I just watched your reaction again. You stopped the video so quickly and asked why you were already so deeply affected by just a line of two into the song. For me, after 13 months of following Dan's work, it is a result of Dan's many years of serious voice training and practicing to perfect his high standard of quality. Then there is his joy of singing and producing his own videos in his basement. Most of all for this beloved hymn, Dan is a Christian and talks about it in chats and you can see his reverence in his eyes and when he closes them, while he sings these holy lyrics. THAT is why you felt so much, just like his millions of followers did in this video. Thank you again. 🤗🙏

Daniel Vasconcelos aka Dan Vasc, has one of the best voices I've heard in a very very long time. That last note he held for something like 24 seconds on one breath...that is one powerful set of airbags 🫁 in that glorious chest, mate... he's is such a stunning voice, it really does give you the chills...and of course, the rest of him ain't exactly hard to take either...😋 Some of his other stuff to listen to would have to be "Dr Stein", which is a Helloween cover, "Make A Man Out Of You" from the Mulan soundtrack, plus any of the music from The Witcher series. Also Dan does a couple of Evanescence covers too. With over 200 songs on his channel, you won't be at a loss for something to review 😁 🙃🐨🇦🇺

He has come such a long way from then, vocally and emotionally, and the training he has put into his instrument definitely shows. He has matured into a beautifully well rounded vocalist.
