5-speed manuals, while no longer common place, still exist in local trucks. By-product of using a day cab. When backing a trailer into any spot, it's best to approach with the parking spot on the left. Drive past until your drive axles are in line of desired location, turn away from spot, then cut hard to the left. Should make backing easier. (side note: watch buggs, he did it right). Observations from a 25+ year veteran driver.

Must be rocking the 6 speed Allison Automatic 4000/5000 series transmission. Very common in trash trucks, not so in semi trucks.

So Dave is driving a truck with an old Formula 1 engine in it. I bet that gets great fuel mileage... Nearly getting taken out by Clark W. Grizwold 2 blocks from your destination just makes it. Why you all picking on Dave? :) I have trouble shifting with the Logitech H-Shifter when driving an 18 speed. When switching between 6 to 7 and 12 to18. I do skip gears. When I want shift down 13-18 to 7-12 it switch to 1-6. So I drive in auto for now.
