Can't they take just one claw, and leave it the other to keep eating and surviving. I thought crab claws grow back too? Maybe take one claw is least cruel, but Masaru never wastes anything he catches so this might be the best way

There is such a crab harvesting method. They take 1 claw & throw the crab back for next year harvest. I forgot what's the crab called.
